Great job amassing all the known DW lore, Eva. MUCH appreciated. I've heard a few things from others IG & from Yssen, but most of my info had been on the very limited summary from the wiki & SW mainpage. I am just now beginning to set to type my story of my DW, so... I cannot say exactly how she will pan out. Yet. I have ideas, impressions mainly, but nothing truly substantial that I could use to define her. Save the below: Despite being told by another Legacy person I met randomly IG (not a member of the RPC) that Elezen are humorless and aloof... Chiané will not be. I sense her having a very dry, almost sarcastic, sense of humor, very blunt and focused in her thoughts and precise in her actions. She will be private, guarded and untrusting of others- which only seems logical. One must prove they are worth trusting to be trusted- not just because of prejudices upon sight and stereotypes. Whether there is 'honor among DW's' as a whole or whether the majority of the race are pretty self-serving as thieves and loners, I have yet to determine... but it only seems logical that as a race, they might be a bit more suspicious and defensive. Not to say she has a chip, I don't see that she will, really. Just be kind of... standoffish and quiet... until she as determined the measure of a situation. As far as her history goes... I -do- know she was not raised as a thief or cutthroat from infancy, but was from a more reclusive family tradition. She is quite honorable and moral- but her brand of loyalty, honor and morality might not be the same as others. She can and will do what she feels is necessary to survive and achieve her goals. She is also quite intelligent and proud... not quite arrogant, but she is NOT ashamed of being a Duskwright- and any that might try to insult her will not find a submissive victim. I reserve the right to give more details as soon as they come to me... if needed...

So... is this going to be a purely Balmung LS or are there any Miqo'te going to Gilgamesh that are wanting to do this?

I like your concept, and I think it's feasible based on my own understanding of eorzean history. Course I'm not a 1.0 player, so still learning & loremongering myself.... But, I will say I look forward to meeting you IG!

Do we know if the Player Housing will be more like EQ2 (premade/instanced entry to those w/access) or Vanguard (literally building the building from the bricks up... HEAVY on crafter support) or something in between? I mean... are we looking at straight gil investment here, or can there be the RP of carpenters and such donating supplies?

I am very into adding cultural aspects to RP.. I think it adds a cool dimension and conflict/alliances in character interactions. (as noted above about the Miqo that would be uncomfortable around other more tribal Seekers). I am presently debating on what I want to run on Gilgamesh with my LS. The toss up is between Miqo'te Seeker (made one in Beta- so cute! ) and Hyur Midlander.... I like the look of (and the ideas I have for) my Seeker- but though I would make her more culturally slanted, she would not be a... erm... "my only use is as a kitten factory" type. I seem to recall another Seeker that took a similar stance here- one that said "Females are just awesome- its the males that have to prove themselves." I -like- that attitude. Totally fits my thought process for her. If I went with her... I'd not be opposed to a family (never done that before and sounds fun!)... and I'd love to work with you Clover . But ONLY if you stop apologizing for your -very good- grasp of English! As far as name goes... was considering T'kyiah, making her Condor Clan. However... I would be flexible for clan as long as it fit her name *grins* My Elezen will still be on Balmung, as I fully intend to partake of the lovely RP ops with the great people I (hope) to meet in the RPC. (So far I've really only met/talked with Yssen IG... for as much as THAT is worth... <_< >_> KIDDING! (don't stab me... :cry: ))

Last I checked, box set CE is sold out. I had to get the digital download. But... No. You will get a code that you plug into your Squeenix account that will let you download the game... Then when your box arrives, you have a "backup." (I asked a similar question earlier )

Is there a way to remove the HUD? I know in GW2, it was ctl+alt+H

Ok. Gave crafting a shot last night and... yeah. I need to plan ahead in Live. I had NO clothes for the L1 quest and... well, lets just say is not immodest. So yeah... totally OOC and irked me. SO. Need to make gil to buy the basic crafting outfit before I give it a go. (TY Beta) Also... Does Ul'Dah have all the crafting professions? I was only able to locate Weaver, Alchemist, Goldsmith and... mining. Or is it like the Battle professions and spread all over? Was recommended to me by several folks to hold off on crafting til after L15... I can see the wisdom in this- though I'd like to pick up the gathering professions so I can prep for Crafting later.

So... once more, am in Beta and am unable to take a screenshot via 'Print Screen' on my keyboard. Do I need to create a 'screenshot' folder under FFXIV? (I seem to recall in one game I had to do that to make it work...?) Now... I -can- create one via the Windows snip tool, but that... is rather unwieldy and the resolution seems... worse than my active screen. It prevents me from taking serial screenies in a row so I can pick the best one. Kinda 'freezes the screen' until I push save- which doesn't stop the animations or cutscenes. Surely, there is a better way.... I don't get why this is not working
