g0ne Posted April 15, 2015 Share #1 Posted April 15, 2015 Your character has been forced to babysit a bunch of kids for a day. No, they can't back out if it. Yes, they may bring along someone else (another person's character, an NPC, another of your own characters etc.) to babysit with them. Notice that while some kids are cute and sweet, some may call your character 'butthead' and throw things at them. What happens? Link to comment

Melodia Posted April 15, 2015 Share #5 Posted April 15, 2015 Melodia looked around at the kids, some sitting calmly and respectfully, others screaming and throwing things. She felt her breathing hot and rapid. The stress levels rising, her fists balled up and her teeth gnashing. She looked to the rambunctious kids and finally a roar came forth. "Oh fer th' love o' gods! Stop! Stop 'fore I toss ye t' the kobolds! I've seen pirates act more behaved than th' lot o' ye!" The kids looked shocked and she took a deep breath. She gestured to the sofa and hissed. "Now sit! An'....study 'r somethin'!" She watched the kids shuffle and then went to the kitchen for a drink. A stiff one. Being a Yellowjacket was easier than this was. Hehe I just thought a little story would help explain her thoughts better than a sentence would. Link to comment
Titor Posted April 15, 2015 Share #6 Posted April 15, 2015 Sleep Geometries. Sleep geometries erryware. Baring that, he would probably go to the one person he knows who has small children... LILI HALP. If he was babysitting her children well, RIP Titor. Link to comment

Baring that, he would probably go to the one person he knows who has small children... LILI HALP. If he was babysitting her children well, RIP Titor. Ado would destroy him. Just saying. Mikh'a would probably just want to play with the buttons of his lab coat but that would require holding him lol Link to comment
Aduu Avagnar Posted April 15, 2015 Share #9 Posted April 15, 2015 Nako would probably set them to work like he did Kurt. I mean what kid doesnt want to get paid to go spy on someone? Link to comment
Verad Posted April 15, 2015 Share #10 Posted April 15, 2015 The children are all taken to the Quicksand and used as cast-members in an increasingly elaborate sales pitch, in which half of all revenue is donated to the Ul'dahn Society for Underprivileged Ala Mhigan Orphans. 1 Link to comment

Kurt S. Posted April 15, 2015 Share #13 Posted April 15, 2015 The funny thing is....Kurt's already been through this before. But it was just one relatively agreeable 6 year old. Kids love stories right he'll just need regale them with tales of his contracts and just tweak the facts a little, maybe put in some morals or some shit. Or yanno show em warriors can wreck the face of a waterfall or sumtin. Ramona has the deep sleep trait for a reason. Expect U'Kihl/Keil to actually be in a cardboard fort with the kids. Effie...that lalafell will just get swarmed. I can imagine Nah easily becoming the ringleader of the children...and they're all out of the house on an adventure...twelve have mercy. Link to comment
Delilah Scythewood Posted April 15, 2015 Share #14 Posted April 15, 2015 All of my characters are used to kids except Theadora, my elezen. Who would awkwardly pat it on the head and stick it in a corner with whatever toy like thing she could find to keep them busy. Link to comment
Darien Cadell Posted April 15, 2015 Share #15 Posted April 15, 2015 What Domri said. She'd probably just let them wallow in their own filth and scream themselves into exhaustion until someone came to retrieve them, leaving a big pile of snacks in a bowl like dog food, depending on their age and capacity to feed themselves. Really little babies, she might actually be okay with, since they're just loud plants at that point, water them and prune their butts, repeat ad nauseam until parents return. But really, don't leave kids with Qhora. She's mighty likely to smother them to save them from the world and teach their parents a lesson. Link to comment
Kalooeh Posted April 16, 2015 Share #16 Posted April 16, 2015 Kal gets along well enough with kids. No problems with entertaining them, playing tag, letting them use her as a jungle gym, play wrestling them and letting them win, etc. Problem is if there's any kids intent on being problematic and being a little shit she would be completely willing to ductape them to a wall or shove them in an empty closet (maybe even restrained) and let them scream and wear themselves out while she goes back to the other kids. High risk of bedtime stories such as "Go the fuck to sleep". Dheina can get along well enough with kids (not babies) if they're behaved but can be easily enough bullied by the meaner ones that just refuse to listen, and they could very easily make her cry. She would definitely have to bring someone else with that was better with discipline or even just handling stress and wouldn't be able to be pushed around or bullied by some little kid. Most likely she'd find Lili and beg her to help because Lili has kids. Lili has lots of kids! Lili can help! Lili please help! (Lili, Ado is being mean to me! *sob*) Sam can handle kids well enough and would be relatively good at keeping them entertained or disciplining them if they do things they shouldn't be. They'd get annoyed at the trouble makers but they'd still be able to handle them well enough. Worse case scenario they put the kids to sleep with magic when patience ran out. Armimi would probably try to teach them about possibly interesting things about plants or Alchemy without going in to details that they wouldn't be able to understand, tell some stories, and probably use sleep spells on them so they'd just be sleeping the majority of the time. Kid isn't tired for their bed time? Well sucks for the parent but Armimi doesn't really have the patience to put up with the energy of kids for the most part, or for any trouble makers. Cardea would teach the kids swear words and about adult related topics that they really should not be learning about and will make you regret leaving kids in her care. She would purposely feed them junk food too and caffeine or whatever eorzea equivalent to make them hyper or even sick. Sure the kids won't die or be maimed or seriously injured or anything, but she will make you regret leaving your kids with her. Samhain..... someone call child services please. She's made a fighting ring and is making the kids and babies fight each other and encouraging the bullies to beat the shit out of the others. At the very least she may at least make an effort to make sure they at least don't manage to kill themselves by falling down the stairs or drink the stuff under the sink..... but then again good chance they will just leave the kids completely alone and go to a bar or something. Only chance those kids arn't going to end up in poor situation is if they're relatively responsible kids themselves and only reason you need Samhain is for legal reasons, and you offer them to pay them well for no or very little work for caring for the child, or you pay them a large amount of money for them to make the effort to prevent the kids from getting hurt. The kids still likely be very unhappy because scary babysitter that won't let them do anything, but hey at least they arn't hurt or dead. Probably would have been a better idea to just find someone that was less of a sociopath that you didn't have to pay so much gil to watch the kids. Link to comment
Enla Posted April 16, 2015 Share #17 Posted April 16, 2015 I can imagine Nah easily becoming the ringleader of the children...and they're all out of the house on an adventure...twelve have mercy. Somewhere, somehow, Sae just developed a cold sweat and looked over his shoulder. Nah with her own gang of childish lackeys... He'd never have a hope of surviving. Enla... Would probably make the children cry, and then just wonder why anyone would ever trust her around children. THEY SHOULD KNOW BETTER. Link to comment
Ruran Posted April 16, 2015 Share #18 Posted April 16, 2015 Locke tries his best to be good with children, but he didn't have to deal with them much until recently. Mainly he'd just let them do what they want but keep an eye on them to make sure they stay out of danger/trouble. Maybe try playing a game or find something educational. Orrian (or basically any of my alts) with kids? ... Link to comment
Caspar Posted April 16, 2015 Share #19 Posted April 16, 2015 I think it'd depend on how old they were. It's irresponsible to place children in Virara's care in general, but if they were young enough that she doesn't have to do much with them, feeding and changing a baby and making sure they don't wander off is not too difficult. Crying and making noise wouldn't change her endless pokerface, but she wouldn't smile and play with them either. If they are older, it would be much worse, as Virara has no concept of what a parent is and would most likely train them with the same draconian methods as her Master, traumatizing them for life. o_0 1 Link to comment
C'kayah Polaali Posted April 16, 2015 Share #20 Posted April 16, 2015 C'kayah is fantastic with kids, and adores them. He'd have a great time babysitting. He'd probably organize them into a big, chaotic lunch production line, and then they'd all go trooping out into Thanalan for a picnic and an adventure. Link to comment
Val Posted April 16, 2015 Share #21 Posted April 16, 2015 One of the children may end up dead, or Val will do everything he can to convince Faye to do it for him. There was that one time that Val threatened to kill someone's kid because it wouldn't shut up, so I imagine anything would go. Link to comment
S'hai Nunh Posted April 16, 2015 Share #22 Posted April 16, 2015 One of the children may end up dead, or Val will do everything he can to convince Faye to do it for him. There was that one time that Val threatened to kill someone's kid because it wouldn't shut up, so I imagine anything would go. Val sounds like everything S'khai wishes he could be. S'khai, truth told, would probably have a blast. He raised his sisters from about 6 or 7 on, and so he has that 'motherly instinct' almost ingrained into him, not that he'd ever admit it. There would be games, and he'd probably teach them how to sew. That said, he'd also threaten their lives if they revealed any of this to anyone. If someone caught him having fun surrounded by kids, though? Twelve have mercy, he'd switch to his 'I'm grumpy and hate this' act so damn fast them kids'd have whiplash. Link to comment
Kyrio Lamansque Posted April 16, 2015 Share #23 Posted April 16, 2015 Kyrio has been told that he's been charming. So he would try to keep the attention of the kids with a story. Or take them to the QuickSand and teach them the art of introducing himself into conversations, whether the other people like it or not. Link to comment
Erik Mynhier Posted April 16, 2015 Share #24 Posted April 16, 2015 Erik/I love kids. He would gather them and bring them to Sable Hall, let them play in the yard. I would let them play tag with Montblanc, ride around on Fury and delight them with aetheric tricks, summoning my armor, Flash, RoH on the practice dummies, and maybe even teach them sword and shield skill with child equipment as Tellah taught him. Azureus Scipio Posted April 17, 2015 Share #25 Posted April 17, 2015 Azureus grabs all the roudy children, take them into the next room, neck snap em and then stuff them into Magitek Animatronic animals. Then he would treat the good kids to cookies and pizza Link to comment
