Knight Kat Posted February 16, 2015 Share #52 Posted February 16, 2015 Torture (only once) That's not true! She participated in the capture and (brief) torture of C'kayah! So, twice! Oh yes! I nearly forgot about how she "captured" (helped save his arse) and "tortured" (tried to prevent him from more attempts at suicide) him that one night where they put him in a bed, started stripping him and tried to tie him up... Okay, well it wasn't torture though. I know he is use to that treatment! I was actually talking about Miah breaking his fingers, but... .........GDI Okay fine! Kiht has tortured 1 and 1/2 times. She didn't help Miah, but she didn't stop her either. Link to comment
Flakskader Posted February 16, 2015 Share #53 Posted February 16, 2015 It would be a bit spoilery to go fully into detail but - Fatally wounding a family member. An occurrence that not only left her terrified of water seeing as it was - to leave it up to the imagination - heavily involved, but also caused her to assume the identity of a non combatant. Darcey Posted February 16, 2015 Share #56 Posted February 16, 2015 Sins and Crimes are two very different things... As an officially sanctioned privateer of Limsa Lominsa Merl has committed many sins, but none of them were crimes.... not exactly. * Killing (I won't call this murder, since it is done in combat) * Pillaging of ships. * Torture of enemy combatants and pirates (please understand that this torture is brutal and unconditional, including things that most sane people would consider above and beyond) The list goes on. However, since the removal of officially sanctioned privateers and the advent of the Maelstrom, Merl has left the majority of his crimes behind. Now they are just sins of his past. Now, his sins consist mostly of lewd and lascivious behavior... Link to comment
Aduu Avagnar Posted February 16, 2015 Share #57 Posted February 16, 2015 Nako has hardly done anything that he hasn't justified through his work for the city state. That being said: Torture Espionage Killing ( not murder, as they were either sanctioned or in self defence) Adultery (is it adultery if they aren't married?) Link to comment
Coatleque Posted February 16, 2015 Share #58 Posted February 16, 2015 Adultery (is it adultery if they aren't married?) If they are in a closed relationship with someone already, then yes. Also, the term 'adultery' means engaging in sexual acts with anyone not your spouse. So sex out of wedlock also constitutes adultery. Link to comment

Dat Oni Posted February 16, 2015 Author Share #61 Posted February 16, 2015 If you need justification for people dumping their criminal history when the term Sin was used, understand that the biggest difference between a Sin and a Crime is that the latter is more along the lines of a Lawful term and not a Moral one. As far as I am concerned, they are similar enough in essence that I will consider them legitimate responses. But I digress; I am not about to argue semantics. If we really dug too deep into the differences between the two and what should actually be posted in this thread, it would mutate into a different topic, altogether. If you want to discuss such things, I politely ask you take it out of my thread. Link to comment
Zyrusticae Posted February 17, 2015 Share #62 Posted February 17, 2015 Sins, hmmm... To T'rahnu, being unable to protect her family was a sin of the highest order. It didn't matter if the killer in question was a nearly omnipotent godlike being of incredible size capable of vast destruction; she feels there should have been something she could have done to prevent their collective demise. Her guilt over this is something she hides very well; she maintains a chipper demeanor at all times in spite of this. Completely irrational, but that's just how she rolls. (Some may notice that she is particularly and uncharacteristically sympathetic of individuals who have suffered under similar duress...) Her martial pursuits are just another way of distracting herself from her past. She hopes to one day, eventually, just forget all that happened - but of course such an outcome would be impossible short of true death. Perhaps someone could be the one to help her let go... but that is a real long shot given how she keeps everyone at arm's length. Other sins? Well, she is quite randy at times, but I don't know if that even counts as a sin. There's a difference between doing something because it's fun and being fixated on something at the expense of other, more important things. She doesn't quite cross the line towards the latter. Killing? She's done plenty of that, and she's quite good at it, too. The thing is that she doesn't murder anyone in cold blood; if someone begs for their life she's going to let them off the hook (though heavens help them if they try to backstab her afterwards). Similarly, when she steals from folks she only goes as far as she needs to to get away safely, which very rarely entails actually crippling someone, much less killing them. All told, T'rahnu's just not a real big sinner, really. She has vices but those aren't the same thing as sins, and her temperate personality means she's just not the type to sin big. That's just the way she rolls, you know? Link to comment
C'kayah Polaali Posted February 17, 2015 Share #63 Posted February 17, 2015 It took me a while to really think of how to answer this. Most of that was taken up with thinking about what the question means. But I finally have an answer: Sins? Why, none, of course. Link to comment
Virella Posted February 17, 2015 Share #64 Posted February 17, 2015 No of course! How else is an Ishgardian lass to behave after all! With that said, I hope Heavenswards give us plenty of reason to sin, and see more of the flaws of the Ishgard lot. Link to comment
Kirann Posted February 17, 2015 Share #65 Posted February 17, 2015 Khloe grew up orphaned at a early age. So when she looks at crimes that she allegedly has committed it is through the eyes of someone that did what she had to do to make it day by day. Petty theft , smuggling , breaking and entering , destruction of private property, theft of a chocobo, joy riding a stolen chocobo, failure to yield the right of way (while on a stolen chocobo.) , Riding a chocobo with out a permit, attempted murder, murder, hit and run (while on a stolen chocobo). Prostitution. I would like to point out that for reasons only know IC all her crimes were expunged along with any and all warrants for her arrest. She currently is employed as a hostess at a café in Limsa Lominsa Link to comment
Aduu Avagnar Posted February 18, 2015 Share #66 Posted February 18, 2015 If we're arguing morality rather than lawfulness, then nope, Nako has commited no sins whatsoever Link to comment
Leanne Posted February 19, 2015 Share #67 Posted February 19, 2015 Perhaps not the biggest of sins yet...the worst sin that Leanne committed and she felt guilty about was spying on her friends. With or without justification, anytime she remembers of such fact brings her a bit of sorrow. Link to comment

Gegenji Posted February 20, 2015 Share #69 Posted February 20, 2015 Um... Chachan continues to lie about his age? Does that count? Oh, and defying his father's wishes and running away from home. ... Plus he was kinda/sorta dating two girls at once. Well, more like he didn't know how to break up with the first girl without hurting her feelings and enlisted the help of said new girlfriend to help out. It only really went as long as it did because the first was OOCly hard to get ahold of. That's not saying much, of course, but this is Chachan we're talking about here. Judge, on the other hand? He... still needs to be fleshed out. But he's quite old, and thus has probably has more than his share of skeletons in the closet. Unless he's been ALL ABOUT THE JUSTICE since childhood... which, while amusing, is unlikely. There was probably some jarring point that made him realize that things need to be a certain way.
