  1. I saw you in-game earlier today and almost wanted to hug your character just for the name, so when I saw your topic listed here I had to come and pay a visit, ahah. In any case, I can't really help much with the lore, not without mentioning anything that hasn't been said already at least, but if Sounsyy has doubts about the use of a book as a Conjurer then I'd take assume that's as accurate an answer as you're going to get. Technically, there's nothing from stopping you from taking such a route and perhaps no-one will ever comment or think much of it, but if lore-adherence is important to you then you may want to consider an IC and OOC separation as suggested.
  2. My eyes immediately went looking under your avatar in search of: Half-eaten'Danish Bearclaw ; With exception to Hyuran names and parallels for the same race in other games which are obviously based on existing ones, all of mine are simply made up in my head after taking some time to sample various sounds, haha ; That's why I was secretly annoyed to see names bearing a striking resemblance to K'nahli's. (Q'nahli, anyone?) *fumes* ! In this case of my lalafel whose name is supposed to rhyme in according with the lore, I deliberately choose something that sounded fruity like a drink and somewhat cute!
  3. Outside of miqo'te being a prime favourite among ERP'ers, I don't see where that stereotype comes from and it kind of annoys me that it's perpetuated as some partially-embraced truth. Lalafel on the other hand actually make sense since everything about their animation plays to the idea that they are cute and adorable. I certainly utilise mine for the sake of light-hearted, cutesy RP; not because it's how I perceive lalafel in general, but because their design easily caters to it. He is quite young, however.
  4. I can't speak for Ul'dah specifically, but I recall at least a few of NPCs referencing the fact that anything of that nature was "unfavourable" to say the least. I think I recall one or two saying that they'd rather die than stain their soul by pursuing coin through such means. It's a shame that I can't for the life of me remember who actually says this but I think that at least one of them was an Ala Mhigan. For that reason alone I'd personally contest the idea that it's widely embraced and accepted as "the norm" but unless anyone can back that up(my hazy recollections that is) then remember to take what I say with a grain of salt.
  5. Not once did I ever fall under the impression that they were anything more than low-income entertainers. Aside from the aforementioned example of the Ball Dance quest not so much as implying anything of the sort, I also find it a little difficult to believe that such people would be hired to remain present in a private and very well-established residential district; a subjective opinion perhaps, but that's my impression nonetheless. Also the middle of the markets seems like an unusual venue for me. At least for mere dancers - who are scraping for any coin at all to be thrown their way - it seems perfect since it ought to be consistently crowded with people who obviously have money.
  6. Why is this upside down???? This really made me laugh www (Comment modified slightly to mirror the way I read it at the time!)
  7. K'nahli has been building up a collection of glamours much like my Paladin Hyur had been with all of those glorious plate sets once I began leveling him from 50-60 ww This is the most IC one through and through, however. It's sad that it's a bit wasted since I can't help but continue to use parts of the Artifact Bard set as part of my main gear but I might update it soon enough ^^
  8. They were, yes. They both made it to 50(or close to) before returning to another game for a short while after it received an update ^^
  9. Thank you, Kaaage! And I'm very sorry for the trouble. I just wanted to play it safe since the only times Balmung would ever open(outside of the moments directly before and after a maintenance) were in the early hours when less people were online, so I didn't want to take a chance and ask my friend to resubscirbe to take advantage of the transfer only to find that it wasn't even listed. Still though, thank you very much for your help! ^^
  10. The thing is that you did that this morning around the time, I presume, that character restrictions had been briefly released following the maintenance - same as they had been for a friend of mine who wanted to prepare an alt for a potential, future Viera ^^ I would be very surprised if Balmung was still open right now, so I'm curious if it is still listed there because I saw that Mateus was closed yet found that, unlike Balmung, it was listed. Also I saw no comment on the Transfer Guidelines explicitly stating that transfers to congested worlds were not permitted, only transfers to worlds that had already reached the maximum creation quota(i.e 8 characters in my case).
  11. I wanted two friends to take advantage of this from back when it was announced but their subscriptions are currently inactive and when I went to the Mogstation to verify everything was above board first, I noticed that Balmung wasn't listed. The hopeful side of me wonders if this is because I already have all eight slots occupied on Balmung, but apparently the World Transfer System was adjusted some time ago so that you could not move to a world that has Creation Restrictions currently imposed against it, which is practically all of the time in the case of Balmung. Could I trouble anyone to see if Balmung is at least listed for them should you not have all eight slots taken? I guess anyone who successfully transferred did so soon after today's maintenance when the servers were open, however.
  12. I love Clover's Tia so much T^T IF ONLY SHE'D PLAY HIM...
  13. Despite the sudden and unexpected approach of the Elezen woman, Alex greeted the encounter with a level of indifference quite typical of the hyur. It was far from unusual to be approached in the streets like this and nothing really separated this particular instance from any other, even considering the woman's particular adamance about the issue. A short glance was shared between both the him and the woman as she insistently pushed into his personal space - leaving him little room to do anything but acknowledge her presence - before a skeptical hand would then reach up to accept the creased sheet she was offering with an apparent hesitance. Glancing over it's contents, it became immediately clear to the mercenary just what kind of deal this was, the bounty's reward in particular bringing him daringly close to rolling his eyes. With a sigh, the paper was carelessly crumpled into a misshapen ball beneath the weight of his fingers and conveniently plopped into an abandoned tumbler sitting atop a wall nearby. Whoever was foolish enough to buy into such an arrangement probably deserved whatever may happen to them.
  14. This was an absolutely amazing idea. My day has been made by this and I haven't stopped smiling since. Yoshi and the whole team just..... ugh... I really want to thank them in person and I just can't.
  15. People can just as easily get from 0-50 in a matter of days if they skip all cutscenes, take in zero sights and show no interest in subquests just like those people who raced to 60. It certainly took me a decent portion of time to get to 60 on my main where I was taking in and enjoy absolutely everything. Naturally, it only took a few days with the alt where I watched no cutscenes.
  16. Oh God, me too ;_; We're all so sad. Edit: Granted I don't see that many names, but it's usually the same few I spot every so often but I'd never dare interrupt them with so much as a "hi!". How dare such a thought even cross my mind!? (I was worried my post was too short, haha).
  17. Oh God, that first one especially is just SO me ;;;; And I'm not half as well-spoken as you are. I really, really wish I had not only a greater grasp of a lot more descriptive terms so that my tags didn't feel so damn repetitive, but also the ability to employ them in a readable manner. Whenever I am trying to describe character actions and dialogue I just... get so caught up with trying to express the small details that they come off as too "technical" and don't read well at all. Ugh.... *frustrated*!
  18. This is pure speculation on my part but I can't imagine a scenario where Xaelan Au Ra(at least) would be in constant torment or discomfort as a result of damaged horns. That, or I'd have to imagine that they are INCREDIBLY difficult to damage, let alone break. I just imagine that evolution would kind of cover that aspect for such a savage crowd. But then again, not all of them are quite so aggressive. Who knows?
  19. ** Heavenward Spoilers ** ** Heavenward Spoilers ** I actually assumed that Ysale was deliberately intended to be anything but stand-out attractive. It's good that people like her though I guess! Granted this is a het attraction, but I absolutely adore Y'shtola. She's so pretty, her japanese voice is incredibly soothing and I just love her whole attitude, personality and intellect. Plus her new outfit is to die for. Tall boots, just the right amount of leg showing.... dead. Another girl(and miqo'te) I adore is the Limsan Linkshell Distrubtor. She's very adorable. And finally, I also really love Kan-E-Senna too, but in an 100% "platonic" way - as pretty and fitting to the role as she is. I just adore her character a ton but not in the attraction sense. Just thought it was worth mentioning! As for males, well, while I can see that the likes of Aymeric are intentionally made to be very attractive, they don't really appeal to me in that sense; so I am strictly favouring male characters based on their actual character and actions throughout the MSQ. Though I think that Raubahn is the only character I really care an absolute ton for. He's so charismatic and good-natured that he is a very important NPC to me. Him losing his arm and the possibility of him being killed back in those 2.55 cutscenes absolutely gutted me at the time. As hyped as I was for Heavensward, seeing what happened to him and the rest of the Ul'dahn mess was probably the most important to me... (not so much the Scions, bar Y'shtola).
  20. Well, I don't think many people would really care for others touching their hair or face or anything like that unless it was for a good reason/they were close to them. With that in mind, horns don't really ring out as a special case to me - just another part of one's anatomy which would reward people with a strange, disapproving glance should they, for whatever reason, decide they wanted to try and lay their hands on you.
  21. I have a hard time imagining horns work that way too, frankly. Nor do I think that hitting or touching them would make for any real problem or discomfort, albeit that's just me. I do like to think that the interlocking of horns(where applicable) is a form if displaying affection though, similar to meeting foreheads as opposed to or perhaps even along with kissing.
  22. They're all variations of them, but that doesn't really suggest that they are intended to replicate older versions. There are only so many ways one can sit after all, let alone when they seem to be trying to maintain a particular charisma for each race and clan. Plus the wording alone doesn't really lend much to that belief either, unfortunately. If gender pose sharing is to be believed, then the races showcased are irrelevant despite all being unique from one another. Regardless of what is true however, you can be sure that they won't leave anyone out. Besides, they said "some" examples when they revealed those images ^^
  23. I had to google what this "aitch" thing was, haha ; I actually didn't know this though. Am I to understand that every tribal name is supposed to have a 'h' and a hissing sound to it?' Edit: Just read the conventions post and see a nunh example without a 'h', never mind ^^
  24. Random, OOC screens from Moonfaire event. ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ “…I thought it might suit you better, so….” Fictional scene where I imagined that K’nahli was searching for a pink seashell to offer her sister K’mih as a gift to try and mend the tensions K’nahli herself has caused between them, only to, instead, find one with a very pretty shade of ashen and white that reminds her of K’rahto - a frustratingly, intriguing tia from her tribe. I was just being silly really! It's such a cliché but I couldn't resist, haha.
  25. I highly doubt this will apply to pre-existing emotes but my God will I hold out just that teensy wee bit of hope that it will. Though having said that..... I STILL wouldn't get access to the one I really want for my hyuran males because it belongs to females! I really, really want the kneeling one highlanders have! ; Loving the new poses though! On a side note, I'll edit the title to something a little less optimistic until we are given solid proof otherwise for the sake of not misleading other people into a false sense of excitement.
