Anything from components to animations and even hosts for things from the void. There is even rumour of a sect that dine of the flesh of others.

Yes, but as a kind of side line for me. I actually RP through the game, as in my character plays and makes decisions based on them self and not on me. I also fuzzyfudge what the actual story is and overlay my own on top. I am not the warrior of light, I am just a plain witch caught up in unusual circumstances. So I don't tend to differentiate from RPing with others to doing quests and other game things. The weakest this gets is probably in PvE instances but even then the flavour of my char tends to stick.

When I am running some plot and I think people are enjoying it but I unsure since the doubt is strong in my head. Quite often I feel down after running RP because of that doubt. So please if you enjoy someone's efforts just tell them, a word of thanks is like a warm hug.

Ciel confirms that The Phoenix Aria does have an Orchestrion. The house's FC asks that the Orchestrion remain under members' control, but if you can confirm the name of the music roll you want, Nebbs, they can see about ensuring that it is in there. They have "I Am The Sea" already if that was the one you needed. Yes it is only available to members I found. So if someone has "I Am the Sea" that will be great. It is 5k gil from the chap by the Aetherite in Limsa.

Do we have an Orchestration box in the house? I have some music picked out. I wanted something Pirate Shanty style and I found the Limsa tune okay. If anyone has the other tunes and can suggest a bawdy sea shanty type music please let me know.

Welcome! Well lore wise the game introduces you to it. But I find there are some on-line places you can check things out at (such as the wikia etc..) I'd recommend keeping the character concept simple and not based on any extraordinary hero powers in the game, as you pick up the lore you can adapt to suit your style. Also check out the [RP Linkskell & Free Company Lists for Balmung] for things that suit you. A Linkshell is like an in game chat channel and you can have 8, and a Free Company is like a Guild. (edit - assuming you are on the Balmung server) Faction wise there is only one faction and every one can speak to each other. The only difference to this is the PvP setup which all takes place in instances (no open world pvp) and restricts in game chat when you are there. There are three main PvP factions called Grand Companies, each aligned to the three main cities. You pick one of these Grand Companies as you level, and it provides extra quests etc.. (PvP is just a small part of a Grand Company).

Yes Steel is on my hunt down for RP list.. but time.. is a cruel thing.

I opened up the dungeons in PUG and all was fine. after that it has been with some others as I help the more nervous types get a clear and for Roulette I call out in LS for teams. Not had any problems with them so far.

No no, it takes a certain kind of RPer to venture into the long term side of RP, it's not you. There are many folks who are more like moths flitting from one RP/game to another. Even then others like the first part of an RP engagement and go off to seek more freshness when this dies down. I myself look for longer term RP that makes me think, but honestly most of what I find remains superficial which is only really good for passing-by RP. You only get past my random RP front if you stick around. All I can say is make your plots less reliant on an individual, progress them when you can or in downtime. Be prepared to run off at tangents/distractions as you RP with others. I often treat them as the slowly changing story of my character. If you are finding RP then keep going, there will likely be another potential along shortly. Psst - you know there is something wrong with everyone, right?

Seeing her new friends approach a rather large shambling thing she calls out to them, "Oh, just take care there, they tend to split into two when in danger and can try to swallow you." Then with a frown at Tarquil for his stubbornness she dashed to the aid of her friends, one of which was just a pair of boots disappearing into the shambling mound.

Nebula does work for the Maelstrom among other Pirate sorts. She is a Witch but has a Pirate heritage that she keeps up. So if you want to tangle with someone who has her fingers into anything form lost Pirate communications, treasure rights, ghost ships and treating various unsightly rashes that sailors get.. maybe you could find her. Places like the Wolves' Den Pier, but also the Silver Bazaar and Crescent Cove in Western Thanalan are good places for smuggling RP.
