Hmm, well I'd start with little things that all seems fine to add to your character's flavour. Things like breathing fire starts to push it a bit for me. However, many have magic items that perform feats of some worth and so a tattoo would not be a problem in my book. You could have the tattoo be one shot, need recharging after use or maybe gets charged when you use an Aetherite crystal. For actual powers I'd consider looking at cross class skills, as these are already things folks can do in the mechanics. In this way the tattoo becomes your mechanism for using said skills, though you may have to get a bit creative. Example to toughen the body - see Stoneskin. If you want to go further then maybe use this as the way they use all their skills. In this way the character is no different to others and you just change the way they activate their skills. Like a Summoner who uses his body as his tome, and text moves over his form (see the TV show Dominion for a nice reference). In the end I would use this for flavour and not to add extra power-ups for your character. Put in some downsides, like times to activate, that he must be able to see them, is always taking their shirt off, and so on.

Hmm, can we make this a thing? Maybe pick an event to do Pirate at? I sometimes go along to Wayward Star Bar evenings that are quite Pirate themed, I have even seen some on this topic there . Well I'm UK but at weekends I can be on in my mornings and always though some RP would be good then.

The background story for Nebula is that she comes from a line of witches, specifically her Grandmother was a notorious Witch/Pirate Captain. Her Mother turned away from the gift for the axe. Here is the classic Crone, Mother, Maiden set-up and they are kind of all in her head, which is one reason she is crazy. Nebula herself grew up a supposed orphan, which lead to failed-poacher, failed-archer, okay-bard. It was as a poacher she was told at some village fair that she had talent and should seek out the Conjurers in Gridania. However, instead she got hitched up into the Archers guild. It was only when she was kicked out and her power started to materialise that she finally joined the Conjurers. [edit - I came up with this story back in beta when Bard would require conjurer as a class. This was changed in the game but I continued anyhow] She is a terrible student, and they pushed her off to the Sylphs, where she met her Witch mentor, Kraggy Nel. Under her witch training she was sent to learn the basics of how magic is done throughout Eorzea. She enrolled in the various magic guilds to achieve this, again she is a terrible student. This broad grounding in the basics and variety enables the Witchcraft training that is more about intent and conviction than dogmatic methods. Throw in some alchemy and gemsmithing and she is set for potions, charms, magic of a hedge witch and more. Now she is off seeking out some lost Sharlayan Witch to continue her journey into high Order Witchcraft (you can guess this ends up at Matoya, though there is a quest(s) to do to get there).

My lvl 30 alt is in the LS but I can bring my main after the house purchasing stampede is done. Nebula Stardancer PLD i229 AST and SUM ~ i220 I could roll with any other class but above should cover the roles. Also if someone needs that extra gear to make 205 shout up and let's get you there.

Region locked, I suppose but you will hit Lore walls with whitemage also. This is a problem using the msq and classes to define a character. While there are guilds for the main caster classes there are other ways you could get into things. Someone could have taught you, you could have found a book or similar to learn from. Right now there are PC astralogians all over the place. I suppose I'm saying don't feel you are constrained by the msq and classes.

There will be: Annoying people Quiet people Complainers People with big ideas Times when there are too many Times when there are too few Breakaway splits Time you can't be bothered In short a right old mixed bag. Throughout this the only things that lead to longevity are: You want to run an FC for others not yourself You like the ooc organising You have a vision and stick to it You focus on your members Success is survival not pleasing everyone. To be honest my advice is avoid the pain of running an FC unless you are really up for it. Advice I keep forgetting myself.

Well I think that you could already be dabbling in fate, one of the twelve even covers that. How you bridge that extra step to astralogian could come from many routes. These routes could then lead to some formal training. You could IC be at any point on that journey, and even just mix it in with other talents. My own keeper was a fortune teller and reading the stars and their energy before astralogian was a thing. IC she has embraced some of the teachings and assimilated some of the basics into her character. She is a Witch and Fortune Teller not an astralogian.

My sin today is that I think I can offer you redemption through RP. Yet the offer is there, and if not me just seek to make another's RP great for them.

Nebula does some special work for the maelstrom, from dealing with unsightly rashes to investigating the strange and bizarre. It is a great theme to run some stories under. So I will keep an eye out when I am Limsa way.

Ah a bad witch! If you want witch RP I'm up for that. There are a few of us but it tends to never come together. We even have a LS, though few in number.

Hi where. Just curious if you think you will anoy folks due to messing up or because you are obnoxious? If just messing up don't worry. There are events and linkshells that are aimed at safe environments and many FCs welcome folks picking things up. Enjoy yourself, observe how others do things and join in.

Look in the list of linkshell and FCs on here for something that may suit. It would help to give some details on style, timezone, small or large, theme, do you also want pve/p.

Hi there. I think a few ideas, just an outline is great. You can let your RP be the stimuli to flesh out the char. Just make notes if what details and embellishments you add and soon you have a rich background. Many do this. Though if you need things worked out before hand then try some of the tools like 100 questions for your character, or just start filling in a wiki.

Jancis already pointed you at the book. You already have a concept and some visuals which is good. I would suggest going for normal over extraordinary, and think about flaws over special abilities. Someone once said this to me and I keep it to heart.. "Ordinary folks, in extraordinary situations". Though some do like ordinary situations (this is called slice of life RP). Which server are you on? I recommend finding other RPers through Linkshells that are like an in game chat channel and you can have 8, and a Free Company is like a Guild.

I'm thinking we get an unlikely group together and RP some dungeons. A good environment to get in over our heads and run amok. Ah the sarcastic banter, the screams, the fleeing panic. If you think you lack what it takes come join the oddballs and prove it.

I'm on UK times, mostly evenings, which may be a problem. But happy to do a sparodic conbection. Nebula, my witch, does trade in Ul'dah either the city or some of the outlying areas. So maybe some supply and demand RP. She has strange goods and is on the lookout for similar or channels to make gil. Also she likes stories and gossiping, in her crazy way.

Do you need some bards with stories? Say yes.. yes?

Had a classic a few days ago in a pug. One healer kept dying and we were struggling. Healer declairs, "This group won't clear!" and promptly left. Got a replacement, one shot and done. What they meant, I think, is "This group won't carry me"
