  1. Welcome., now you have to join LS and events or people will hunt you down for RPs. *adds neme to RP hunt log*
  2. For me this was a great time, the setting was all cosy and I think concentrated the feelings. Great acts, wonderful audience, awesome event.
  3. Cut and paste. I would trim the type of chats in a tab, maximise it and then cut and paste. There are parses that are not allowed, many do use for dps checks. I don't use, condone or recomend these. Saving IC chats is fine by me, but saving everything seems odd, especially worrying when quoted out of context. But then we all have our oddities. Mine is screenshots and forgetting things. Edit - I also use snipit the windows tool to grab things too, if put in evernote or gdocs it will OCR/search on the text.
  4. You need a sleepy snuggle buddy
  5. No skips! I just checked out your wiki, and I love it. Great layout and very nice to see others who you RP with mentioned. (now I need to go do some work on mine in shame). And Kasumi.. those arts yum!

With nameplates off how would I know? The only problem for me is I am RL no good with names, so I am lijeley to forget and misspel your chars name. In RL I get by without using people's names but in RP it is helpful to signal who I am talking. So, not an issue other than confusing me. On the flip side, I don't like the "I never said my name so how do you know it" game.
  8. I see players that are sensitive to others opinion of them and players sensitive to their opinion of others. A little more tolerance and openness goes a long way for others but also for your own levels of stress. I accept people don't agree but I can't accept judging others for having differances, especially in something as unreal as RP. That tends to be what puts me off others the most.
  9. Well.. though things are in a lul at the moment I would say just keep trying. Come join us in Hugs & Cake, which is really about supportive folk and focuses on Role-playing.
  10. There are pve raid groups but as this is a from of role players I don't see you getting much reponce. If you want an RP group that also raids then maybe, but would suggest adding something about the RP side of what you are after.
  11. ... Hug 4 u I only just watched that anime So...
  12. yes we have a few spaces atm, I will add you to the list just prod one of the leaders for an invite if I don't catch you.
  13. Put Sumi down to perform the tribal dance of the long nights.
  14. I try to not see.. demon dragon cat vampire hobbit girl men! But if someone wants to be void touched, I can roll with that. The thing with horns is you can hang things on them or pop a cork on the end.
  15. I'm with the always IC to some degree crowed, and can quickly shift to full IC as needed. I am also very much into free-form (un-organised) RP. You just have to give off little hooks and things to get RP in odd places. Though it requires a server with RP active in the open world (or at least RPers). So.. pick-up lines as hooks and sometimes people respond, sometimes they don't. Some of the best RP I ever had was spontaneous. What you do get from a common crowed are IC relationships that allow for deeper more developed RP. This may be one reason why people RP with the same people, though there are many more I am sure.
  16. My first statement was more about being authentic. So no matter what you claim your RP should be able to back it up. So if your character is a singer, expect to be able to do some singing in character. That can be as simple as describing how she sings or even emotes and words. Also have a musical ear Let the RP speak rather than simly aserting what you are. You, yourself can be useless at singing btw. Same if you are a seamstress then talk about cloth and cuts of cloth, don't just say you are a seamstress. That way there is more richness to the RP and more for others to engage with. You could think of it as RP surface area. Now on playing someone learning means that a lack of knowledge is part of the character. A handy way to fit in as a new player. Also people can tell you things in characters, and those things may not be correct.. but still RP fun when you find out. The Lore of the world is useful to ensure we all have a common model of how the world works. So keeping it simple to start with means more chance you fit in and your char is accepted by most.
  17. Hi there, A good reference is [The Role-Play Handbook] a great resource. Your concept sounds good. My advise would be to not claim expertease you can't RP. So if a good singer, be prepared with some songs. I would also recommend playing a non expert, someone learning still. There is a lot of RP opportunity in struggling and even failing at things. It is these opportunities that allow for character growth and ongoing RP. The goal in RP is not to win, it is to play a character in a setting with rich and meaningful interaction with others. There are other aims from RP but that is my personal one. As you are visual, then try imagining your character in certain situations, what does she feel, what does she say and do. I do this a lot in fleshing a char out. However, you will probably find the RP shapeds this as you start, so don't be too prescriptive and remain flexible. Maybe it is the same for drawing where what you end up with evolved in the drawing?
  18. Foxglove does scary eyes at her fairy after it made a comment
  19. Don't worry.. newness coming your way soon
  20. For me it is that this place (RPC) still exists and is a strong place for the broad church of the FFXIV RP community. There is a lot of diversity out there and with this comes different views, personalities and styles. The RPC has managed to provide a melting pot for RPers in that messy world. It has managed to please some of the people some of the time, to quite a large degree, and weather the storms of displeasing some of the people some of the time. So the fact that there are things I dislike but others do like is a positive for the breadth of the community. And that is where the mods come in, they have listened and taken the time to adapt the RPC to meet needs in a considered way, not a knee jerk pandering way. Is life perfect.. never, don't look at what went wrong look at the fact that the RPC staff continue to strive to improve things, listening and adjusting. That's why the RPC lives and what I love about it.
  21. Just bump with a hug if you want... and there are so many kinds to chose from. For all you weekend RPers.
