  1. First rpg I ever played that got me into that format of games, the original Dragon Warrior. I played that nearly to completion, where it died on me, and lost my data. A year or two later I found it, got mad at it all over again, and punched the cartridge, just one time, but it wised up and my data was restored. I didn't get up until I saved the princess. On the computer, probably The World of Xeen. The combined Might and Magic 4 & 5. I still remember the last scene of 5 with Corad. But my favorite rpg's of all time, that didn't just define what I like in games, but in how I right and still gives me things to think about, The Legend of the Dragoon and Xenogears. I liked the former so much more than FF7, especially the characters, and Xenogears had everything. I loved the story, giant mechs, martial arts, the combat system. There's no other console game I've put more hours into before or since. The second disk was more of a visual novel with dungeon clearing for half the disk, but since I liked reading so much, I didn't even care. Even now, when someone talks about a dragoon, I first think of Dart, Rose and Lavits. Herschal and Miranda. Nothing has really compared to those two games since, no matter how much I enjoyed them.
  2. I know, I want to take him as my patron even more now.
  3. A'kos is a: INTJ Introvert(3%) iNtuitive(34%) Thinking(9%) Judging(12%) You have marginal or no preference of Introversion over Extraversion (3%) You have moderate preference of Intuition over Sensing (34%) You have slight preference of Thinking over Feeling (9%) You have slight preference of Judging over Perceiving (12%) For myself, I'm more introverted and the weights were different, but I was still an INTJ, I'd actually see A'kos being more extrovert in time, as he's a foreigner and playing his cards close for now. It was pretty accurate actually.
  4. The biggest offender is mutiliate, you do your attack, THEN backflip. Why!? You already shanked the mofo! *head desks* I love most other attacks though, knife fighting is described as a dance in this game and is more martial arts than down and dirty, at least those twirls come with extra slashes and kicks, so you're using all your limbs for a flurry of attacks.
  5. I want a mini Yugiri! :surprise: And, is that another bug primal coming at us? O_o
  6. If you aren't Doman, or Othardian, then you could be trained by one. Or you could be trained by someone who was. Lady Yugiri also states that they'll start training allies of the Scions in the arts (I'm not sure if this was the Grand Companies as well or what), and Oboro says they'll work with the Lominsan Rogues. The style of combat is very similar, it's really the magical aspect that sets Rogues and Ninjas apart. I haven't seen anymore limitations to the class rp wise than most of the others, and how you use the mudras is up to you, they're generally less flashy than what a mage class will do . Lore wise, the Shinobi don't advertise who and what they are anymore than the Rogues do as that could be a tip off in the targets favor. As for how many master ninja are out there? Well if they're masters they aren't going to tell you that 8-) but as far as learning goes, post 50 there aren't anymore mudras to learn, and all the skills are self taught through the questline.
  7. Your post got me thinking about it, but suppose the elementals really didn't have anything to do with flooding the world, and they just took credit for the act to better establish their power? It's not unlike something a terrorist organization would do.
  8. As the opener points out, this seems to be the clincher. Not only does it imply the people of Amdapor created the White Magic school, but that if the elementals had indeed created it and it was a gift, then they wouldn't have to seal it away. They could just take it back and refuse to not teach anyone. White magic seems to be the product of a magical arms race. With anyone able to loot the lost city, the knowledge would be out there. If it hasn't been passed down in other ways, or even reinvented by someone else, somewhere else. Someone particularly daring, skilled or unwise could make a bargain with or trap a voidsent, and have them act as a teacher. If the voidsent in question knew enough about white magic.
  9. HAHAHA, yes! I remember this anime now
  10. Just joined Vyldbrand Academy IC, so I guess we'll see! (...though for a rl sort of High School....) A'kos would be the transfer student people didn't quite know what to make of at first. He'd be reserved until someone struck up a conversation, then he'd be pretty talkative. Tall and exceptionally athletic yet have absolutely NO interest in joining a sports team, and thus be hounded by coaches and varsity players alike. You might be able to catch him working out in the school weight room or practicing gymnastics after school though. He'd try to hang with the smart crowd, until he was turned away for not being brainy enough and/or being mistaken for a jock. So he'd be something of an outcast by midyear. He'd probably have one or two very good friends that were also on the outs. He'd be cool with that, and probably be their protector from school bullies. Probably have a crush on a certain girl, one that was tough and an anti-bully bully herself, backing her up in fights and enjoying them but probably not spill his actual feelings. Classes he'd try hard, but would probably top off as a B student generally, with a couple A's depending on the class. Not doing so well on tests, but making up for it with extra work outside of class, or on projects. He'd love classes he wasn't so great in, like literature, and be more bored with classes he was great in like certain sciences or PE. The class he'd shine most in would be machine shop and mechanics. By his junior/senior year, he'd get a reputation for being a grease monkey, maybe a biker, which would be fine, since he's been working on the sickest motorcycle that school ever saw. With a certain fondness for video games and anime, it'd probably come out looking as close to Fenrir from Advent Children as possible without breaking too many laws. Only it would have a side car attachment for his best friend who still couldn't drive, because, well, that's his buddy. Years later, he'd show up at the reunion riding that bike's evolved descendant (and, it'd probably have a Cylon monoeye or Kit's tracer) a highly paid engineer and top martial artist. He probably wouldn't worry about seeing his buds from school because, they'd still be in touch anyway.
  11. Heya, you posted in my thread awhile back, so here I am returning the favor A'kos is currently around Ishgard/Dravania but can be anywhere he needs to be really. A'kos Saiyal in game.
  12. Heya A'kos is one code servin rogue guild aligned rogue himself and could also use some friends. I don't know if he could be one from before his amnesia, he's not native to Eorzea but maybe we can work something out, but like your guy he doesn't concern himself with the past to much. It's a live in the present, fight for the future kind of thing. I just got into a Maelstrom aligned guild of good types tonight, so I can't exactly promote it yet, but one aspect of it I think would fit your dude as much as it did me. Hit me up sometime, in pm's or in game. The name is A'kos Saiyal. We can talk about it
  13. there was an option to wear something that covered a bit more (such as the stripy swim top or kimonos ) but understandable if the character would still feel a bit out of place there. hopefully you'll be able to attend other events; they're a lot of fun :3 Actually, wearing little to almost nothing wouldn't phase him, it would be not knowing anyone there. His shyness and sense of modesty is an interesting thing Sounds like fun though, I hope to go to other events
  14. Would have gone, but I think A'kos had a bout of shyness.
  15. Do we know anything else 3.1 is bringing? Personally I'm waiting for more Manderville quests.
  16. Sorry that I missed this! I wouldn't worry too much about it - you can just let folks know OOC that not all of the abilities you whip out during the dungeon are IC. Additionally, sometimes the IC dungeons are unsync'd romps through lowbie dungeons where you can afford to have your character not use all of his abilities because the other folks will probably gleefully be blowing everything away. Quick update: My health is unfortunately taking a dive again. I'm taking a break for roughly a week. This means Dungeon Dives are on hold (unless one of the volunteer GMs grabs you!) and will resume once I'm all better again. Sorry for the wait! I didn't know this had started, but take your time My health does that too periodically.
  17. Yes. It takes three lalafels to be considered a person. Otherwise they are nothing but pets or food. Depending on what region you are in. Xp So do lala's taste more like meat? Or potato?
  18. I'm going to get a few pictures of my main before I do his wiki >_> That's the excuse I'm hiding behind at the moment anyway. <_<
  19. Sounds interesting Is this fake country actually a country in game somewhere? Or is it totally made up by your lala?
  20. Where would you find the vendor? I must be missing them in the throng. they're at the round table/stall facing away from the water inbetween the guy that gives the fishing quest and the one you turn the battered fish in. many thanks
  21. She does make that look pretty hawt
  22. Greetings what server are you on?
