I would echo Manari's comments. Lalafell aren't "strange" in the world. In fact they are a major dominant race. If your character is prejudiced or dislikes Lalafell that's one thing, but the player shouldn't let personal feelings about Lalafell bleed into the character like that. They are for the most part treated with respect and even a bit of trepidation during the MSQ and the lore doesn't discount them as a race for the way they walk or look. When I do encounter a Lalafell I treat them like any other race because its the character, not the look, that is important. EDIT: Full disclosure, was a Lala in game for a long while. Ruru!

balmung Wayfarer's Rest: Hiring, Trading, and Open for Service!
Melodia replied to RiniKett's topic in Chronicled Connections
Melodia saw the advertisement and smiled. She looked around as if she were the only one who could see it and nodded, whispering, "I'll be there...I need the work and this place looks just right." She strode off from her home and headed to the Inn to inquire further. -
When Melodia had her memories gone and she was being pieced back together mentally and emotionally by Nebbs, that scene made me cry because it was hard to look at Melodia's past and present in terms of loss and abandonment and loneliness. That was one where crying was unavoidable for me.

Agreed. There isn't anything lore friendly about Melodia D'janz but no one's ever given me a hard time. In fact most people will weave it into the rp, asking about the name.

It looks more like a stiff wind would send it tumbling across the ground in an old Western at high noon. D: Found their reference picture. LMAO!!! Yus!

Right? I was bummed to see the lack of this.

cancelled Harbingers' Weekly Tavern Night (Thursday nights, 9PM EST)
Melodia replied to Faye's topic in Chronicled Events
I would love to go to one of these but that's a late hour for me on a work night. Maybe one day. Or maybe I should just walk up to the house lost one day and knock making my own rp as an option... *considers heavily* -
>deleted for being a careless dope and not reading

Thank you. I appreciate someone replying *hugs*

Hi, I'm looking for a good couple of LS's to network and meet people, make friends and rp. I know there's the LS link....but most of those are FCs and I am not looking to change FCs. I have just one LS right now and it's a small one with a few friends, so I have a lot of open slots for IC or OOC LSs and so any thoughts or suggestions and who I should contact would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Melodia - Age 11 Taurin, the elder Miqo'te watched his newest apprentice, the blue haired Mqio'te girl, Melodia, playing with a small crab on the beach nearby She'd been tasked to him and he to her by the Captain and so he watched over her like a hawk while she did what children do. "Mind the wildlife, child. Lest you are looking to get bit." He said this in a gruff but instructive tone while he eased toward her and crouched, looking her in the eyes. "Besides...I'm not sure the Captain wants your hands injured by the likes of a crab if you're to be a proper thief." He chuckled and she grinned back at him. Her expression grew a bit more serious and her heavily accented words flowed as she were older than her actual age. "Why d' old folks no' trus' anythin'?" He considered her question for a moment and sighed. "Us 'old folks' as you put it, have experience with things...with people. Trust is diminished over time. Almost like a mathematical formula." He smirked, but the expression was warm in nature, fatherly to a point. "In other words, little one, we can't help it. And one day when you're older you'll understand. Trust is hard earned...and not something easily given." She noded, still unsure by her expression and she tilted her head, meaning to ask a question as a follow up only to suddenly yelp a the crab's claw had pinched her careless finger. As she began to well up and cry, Taurin shook his head. "No crying, child....I warned you." He gently took the claw and pried it open, shooing the little creature away. She took her finger in hand and inspected it before grunting. "You'll be fine....nothing permanent. Now run along.....get your play out of your system before we begin our actual lesson for the day." She wiped her tears away and nodded before running down the beach toward another section water. He smiled to himself and shook his head as he followed. ***************************************************************** Present Day The doors were thick wood that she'd not seen before and as Aurrant knocked, awaiting them to open, he smiled back at Melodia. "We'll be inside soon, madame. Pardon if the owners don't greet us right away. They will be along shortly." The door opened and a young lady, a servant of some type, smiled. "Aurrant! You made it back safe." Her eyes flashed to Melodia and she bowed. "And you must be Ms. D'janz, the counselor?" Melodia nodded and bowed back to the woman, nervous and blushing a bit at this welcome. The woman beckoned them inside and she spoke as she closed the door behind them. "My name is Astrine. I'm the help around here...keep the place clean for the owners." Melodia looked around the modest but well off enough interior of the home entrance and nodded. "Aye....pleasure to meet you. This...this is a fine home, indeed." Her eyes looked to Aurrant and she lowered her face cover, taking a breath. "Now...where are the clients?" She asked with a nervous smile.

SM Nick has always been really nice here on the site. -
Thank you. Thinking back on the most recent one it was busy....and I should have sent a tell. It would have been better than hanging my head and thinking "They didn't want to rp with me.." Which is exactly what I did. :frustrated:

The Bacchus Shots Competition is back! 1/22 @9pm
Melodia replied to Cliodhna Eoghan's topic in Chronicled Events
That would be fun. Thank you. -
Okay, so I have been to a few rp events and most recently this weekend. I go alone as I don't really have friends to go with me. And at each and every event, I struggle....I struggle to approach people, to strike up conversations... Everyone seems to be there WITH someone or a group. And when I try to approach, I can literally be standing right in front of the group and emoting something, or saying something, and no one replies. They continue engaging with each other but for some reason I can't seem to find any rp aside from with myself at these events. Am I doing something wrong? Any advice would be helpful because I do enjoy the events but it can be a super lonely affair when the groups I run into seem to have impenetrable fields.

I had fun at the event. Even won the first round at the table I was at. Though I have to say it was a bit hard to mingle though, even with the individual tables going. I tried like crazy but most folks seemed to be grouped up already and knew each other. I even tried to approach a group at one point and was soundly ignored...no exaggeration. At least Clio was super nice and guided me through the event itself. I definitely would recommend folks go....but unless you know people there, it'll be a long lonely night I think.
