Merri hit the nail on the head imo. Only thing that comes off kinda silly to me is when ppl rp with very SHINY weapons. More of a personal thing than a lore thing though.

I know a few characters, including my own, who've been looking to poke their noses into the airship smuggling/pirate business but it's been pretty heavily roped off and under Grand Company control. I really wasn't making any plans for it until I knew exactly what was gonna be on the lore books. It's all you really can do imo. It's just too soon to really say "I'm gonna have a character that does "xxx" with airships." When all we really know about player airships is that they will exist. For all we know there will be some kind of Eorzean TSA or something. :? I don't see the GC's allowing it without some kind of regulation. :cactuar: Need to know what that is first imo.

Ah. So the armor would actually be a focus of the RP. Rp, to me, is a lot like ripples in water. You touch the surface of the water and the ripple spreads out, affecting a lot more than just the point you touched on it's way. Point of the metaphor is highlighting why lore is so important. If his character would not have have this armour...then he should just not have it. And that's that. It's a little special snowflakey (in my humble opinion) to go around saying "I'm the one white mage" or "I have that one set of armor" etc. Perhaps his character was adventuring and found this armor in a cave or dungeon. He has no idea what it is or what it does and he's noticing that when he wears it strange things start happening. It starts affecting him and his personal relationship and he finally reaches out to FC mates and whatnot for assistance/research. Point being, tweaking the concept is fine. It doesn't have to be "THE" armor. It also opens more creative doors in my opinion for you to add your own stuff.

The game is really bad about this. Like in the Gridania opening the moogles are surprised because "Oh! You can SEE us, kupo?!" Then you get to the King Moogle Mog line and it's like everyone can see them.

I, and a lot of people I know, just put outfits together out of whatever. I see people rp in AF and whatnot or use these boots with a hempen camise and no one really cares. I, personally, choose not to RP in any main gearsets I.E. Allegan/High Allegan or use a really garish weapon because I just don't think my character would have access to anything that badass or flashy and I do find it a little immersion breaking. It's very obvious when my character is in RP gear vs. PvE gear. Only time I get a little cringy is when I see people rping in like....pretty much the equivalent of a PvE set or bust out a Nexus weapon, etc. There are exceptions of course like Paladin armor. I've seen folk rp in the Warrior AF you're speaking of and I haven't thought twice. My brain just goes "Hey look, it's a dude in armor." I don't forsee him running into any issues publically as long as the armor isn't a topic of the RP. If it worries you two that much then I would suggest breaking the set up and only using a couple pieces so it's more of an aesthetic thing or getting the Iron Scale Mail as a good looking alternative that is fairly cheap.

Horses are native to the Doman area I believe. Bunch of kids in the main story arc were commenting on how strange the chocobos were and how different from horses they are. As far as importing...they could barely get people over here so....maybe 2 horses tops. >_>;

I think it really comes down to a social/cultural thing. They obviously aren't a necessity and imagine the situation in reverse. If some new, weird two legged beast of burden was introduced to you and you'd developed a reliance on horses you'd probably be like "Ew, get that weird bird-thing out of here my horse is just fine." That's how I imagine Eorzeans feeling about horses. There would have to be some sort of situation where the animals are needed as more than a novelty to really develop a demand. I can see them being used as less glamorous and "hidden" beasts of burden akin to mules and donkeys perhaps. "I couldn't afford a chocobo so..."

From a storytelling/literary standpoint, I love the way jobs build out of classes. From a game design standpoint, it sucks. That being said, I want them to find a way to make each job more unique like Dark Knight without gutting established lore. Because... I might rip my hair out. No joke.

The hair you see on that male elezen are 2.3's Highlander male hairstyle. It means it has been extended to all other races. So yeah, we can all have it now. The "original/locked" haircuts this round are Miqo'tes. Which means 2.6 will be Lalafell's turn (I think they're the only ones left in the haircuts rotation, before they restart over). TIL there is a "haircut rotation." Either way, I'm pretty stoked. I'm hoping some of the longer hair styles work out with Ros's haircolour a lot of them tend to....not. >_>; :cry:

I'm not a fan of Anne Hathaway but the way she drops her vocal and physical cadence playing Catwoman is pretty much exactly how I see Ros doing it when she realizes someone sees through her front. GYDDBV-Cego

If you want RP you want Balmung. Yeah it's hard to roll on and you basically have to camp the chargen schedule but the other RP servers don't have as large a population.

I came into this thread for the crunked out Gucci suits. Was disappointed.

I see Ros as very Nicole Kidman-ish circa early-mid 90's little bit before Batman Forever. Ros would've have been a redhead/strawberry if all the shades of it didn't suck. That pale skin too. Stick a pair of ears on the photo and make her 5'0 and there ya go.
