  1. You let me know how that works out for you. Better yet, carry a GPS tracker around and I'll perform some on-the-spot preventative maintenance.
  2. While I deem Shiva eminently tappable--as per usual--I have a fundamental, violence-filled aversion to being in another being's thrall.
  3. I only have one character that can even have a chance of fighting a primal without losing off the bat to their hax rofltemper bullshit and there's no guarantee it'll actually work. Any of my others encounter a primal and they're like "LOLNOPE" and beating feet at something approaching supraluminal speeds, while praying that Eorzea develops a functional air force and GBU-31s in the next minute and a half.
  4. Yeah, I'm just being pedantic. It's late, all my friends are gone, and I'm fighting sleep. I have to stay awake somehow.
  5. Better get Chao in the ground floor of this.
  6. The timely spotting of this thread before I went to work allowed me to get Ghost in the server. Much kudos.
  7. http://cloud-4.steamusercontent.com/ugc/709654199008917511/F37FC6788E991D9832A1737BC7F34D8E848A1F1A/[/img] Finished up the seasonal on all our characters yesterday, we did.
  8. No need to choose, make friends with all of them. They all need friends. Just say whichever one you want at a time and I'll try to change if I can.
  9. Not it. Things I create have a distressing habit of failing.
  10. There needs to be an LS for Ironworks people. Not an FC, but an LS.
  11. My bounty hunter Garon Crayson openly carries a pair of pistol-type sidearms, but only when he's in his 'business' gear. That is to say, if he has a visible axe, then he's not in his business armor. Yuuna carries pistols as well, but she typically conceals them so she doesn't make people nervous. A miqo'te could probably smell the gunpowder on her, though. Or whatever Eorzean equivalent. Chao is my main tech character. Works at the Ironworks in her spare time, builds magitek weapons, but I doubt she's got any kind of notoriety yet. Formerly frequented the Quicksand, but is in the process of moving to Limsa. If any of these sound interesting, let me know. I'm like to be on Garon most of the night leveling.
  12. The only one I have a strong and ready storyline for is Tahz, who is going to go fling himself into the war for revenge after he gets a letter stating that his mentor and surrogate father figure was killed in the resurgent war. The rest of my characters are kinda "meh?" about it save for the ones who are primarily gun-wielders now being able to show it, and Ganale getting to be an emo DRK finally.
  13. Not even necessarily have to be a kid to get messed up in the head by surviving Carteneau. Ganale was 23-ish at the time and not only received crippling injuries to his arm, but was so mentally scarred that he went back to Ul'dah and lived in the streets for 3 or so years. And still has nightmares and moments where he's just not there.
  14. I don't play ball with "if you're not legacy you're not from around here". I didn't start playing until last February, but my character Ganale was at Carteneau. R'tahz lived in La Noscea with his tribe still at the time of the Calamity. -Runs down list of other characters- Seno and Yuuna were still in Doma at the time, Chao was still in Garlean service out of Eorzea, Garon didn't participate but he scavenged the field afterwards. Cres probably was nowhere around there, and I haven't even started figuring out Ghost's history yet.
  15. With the goobues it seems less an effect of having a sickness and more weaponized nasal expulsion.
  16. I used to be huge on it. 2011 was like the worst year in my life with the massive glut of games I wanted. But nowadays it's just Halo games or things with pre-order bonuses I want. I wasn't even going to pre-order Heavensward until they said early release and I was on board for that. I pre-ordered Type 0 but only to get the 15 demo.
  17. I'm by no means a good tank so my advice is probably all out of whack, but as far as multi-tank group content goes, my rule of thumb is if I'm not MT, I just ensure that next to my name in my party list is a little number 1 on the boss's threat, that way if the MT drops he goes to me and I can pick up the slack until either the MT gets him back or it dies (usually the latter). To that end I start an engagement in Defiance, then tick it off once I've gotten a good head of steam above my party. And I'm partially OCD so I never tick it off if I have any Wrath built up until I get to 5 and then use Inner Beast or something. But I would say if you're not MT to not have Defiance on all the time, because the crit boost doesn't really make up for a 20% flat damage cut. If you're in Defiance, use Unchained whenever it's up, basically. As for Storm's Eye/Path, when I'm not MT I usually use those if I don't have to play threat catch-up against my party, though I usually stick to ....names...the green one unless either there are no NIN or other WAR that are keeping up the pink one since you can only have one debuff on at once and it feels like a waste to keep fighting over whose it is. Me I always keep Fracture on no matter what. When it comes to TP, I usually don't find myself in the red on tank anymore, but I don't usually ask for Goad, just because of my own weird sensibilities where it makes me feel like a dick. If one of my friends is the NIN, fuck yeah I'll be like "give me TP, scrub" but otherwise I relax on my actual actions while keeping an eye on maintaining my threat. Me, I don't ever Berserk. But that's what mainly makes me a bad tank. I have to go to work so I don't have time for more, but only use Holmgang if you're about to die. Don't use it as a "Get over here."
  18. Point, but it doesn't necessarily disprove his statement.
  19. That's not what he said. He didn't say anything about two high-powered characters in a fight. He said he's never seen a high-powered character's player shaming a low-powered character's player for being low-power. But he has seen, and I agree with him, the prevalent attitude that seems to be "you're bad if you play high-powered characters, because low-powered characters are the bee's knees."
  20. Dodos. As we apparently have chickens, dodos are my go-to sub for turkey.
  21. I actually have built-in soundtrack samples on all of my character profiles. They range the gamut quite a bit. A lot of them are just songs I like for a particular thing, but some have hidden meaning.
  22. As per usual, I'll wind up casually ignoring lore. My DRG will acquire his because it once belonged to his mentor, who will have died in the war by the start of 3.0.
  23. I feel like they're going to have varieties of airship ranging from solo little zippers up to full alliance-sized FC-driven beasties.
