  1. Welcome back! I'm all about some RP, and split time between Limsa and Ul'dah as well. Also, if primals are your thing, I run an IC primal hunt event that has its own plot arc. We'd be happy to include you and any ideas you might have for your character progression. If you want a linkshell for Roegadyns we have one called Broken Chairs, look up me (Dogberry Himalspyr) or Salty Lake in game. There are other Broken Chairs members about, but I'm not sure who else is a leader.
  2. I've had Dogberry light his various smokeables with fire shards before. Seems like a reasonable alternative to a match.
  3. If they give you the good pain killers, enjoy the ride. I got all four wisdom teeth out right around the time Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers came out on DVD. One quick stop to Blockbuster (lol) and a pill later, and I felt like a Maiar.
  4. Dogberry stopped in his tracks at the site of the poster. He frowned and shook his head. "Kiddo..." he said to himself. He could feel his paternal instincts kicking in. It seemed Ember was becoming a member of the ever-increasing group of kids he tried to keep tabs on and look out for. He made a decision to try check up on her once his business in Ul'dah had been taken care of.
  5. [video=youtube] I THINK WE ALL KNOW WHY
  6. Aysun, I'm sorry that happened. If the event is full and you still want to come, let me know. We can rotate someone out and put you in party and run it again under the premise that just as we were about to leave, the primal attacked again, or something like that.
  7. It's alright. You've been fantastic throughout these events, 'Wen. I'm just really curious about why I can see a plethora of positive responses, and see so few people that we have to actively recruit at the time of the event or it can't happen. It's disheartening, and quite frankly, discouraging. I started doing this event to add a little bit of variety to the kind of RP events we see. We've got pub crawls, date auctions, and fighting tournaments covered. And if that's all the community wants, that's fine. If IC primal fights aren't something that interests people enough to show up, then I won't bother. Or if Sunday afternoons and evenings aren't a good time, let me know. But I won't waste my time making events for a community that doesn't want to attend.
  8. Event cancelled due to lack of attendance. Look, guys, for the last few events that I've run, it's been a struggle getting people to show up, in spite of promises from more than enough people to actually do the fights. What's going on here? Can I get a little bit of feedback?
  9. Aw man, I was hoping for a repeat of the last masquerade party! I'm sorry. :< Next time! Dog will just have to visit her at her tavern and tell her all about it. c: Most definitely!
  10. [video=youtube] I love this song, and I love this video. Band of Brothers and Saving Private Ryan!
  11. What: IC Primal Fight When: October 26th 3:00 p.m. EDT Where: Camp Overlook, Outer La Noscea Are we the hunted? NO! We're the hunters! Put on your cool jackets and fancy green capes, cadets, because we're going Titan hunting. Meet up at the aetheryte crystal at Camp Overlook, where you will be met by a Maelstrom officer who will guide you on an expedition through U'ghamaro Mines, to the Titan Aetheryte. We've taken down four primals so far. Titan will be our fifth and strongest to date. The Maelstrom, ever so "kind" during our last expedition, has decided to send us a man of their own to help. But is he really here to help, or is there an ulterior motive? I will not be playing Dogberry for this event. I will be playing the Maelstrom officer. As always, if you have any character development or plot that you'd like to add to the event, let us know. I will say this will probably be the most meta-plotty of the events so far, and it only ramps up from here as the odd cabal of Stormwind, Rhianna, and Dogberry reach their ultimate goal of a "solution" to the primal problem that plagues Eorzea. Please look forward to it. Edit: I am a big idiot who forgot to include the date because I posted it on the calendar and copypasta'd.
  12. Aw man, I was hoping for a repeat of the last masquerade party!
  13. Nanamo Ul Namo has a posse. [video=youtube] OK, so maybe the main reason I want kids is to make them awesome costumes.
  14. It's very 90's alt rock. I like it as a song, but it's not something I'd really want to throw down to. If I'm fighting primals, I want some intensity.
  15. How 'bout some Bubble Bobble?! Loved that game!
  16. We try to keep things to an older cant (name of the channel/stream is Retro Run afterall) but twenty four hours is a LOT of time. Like... a lot. We ended up breaking down last year and playing some of the Payday2 Halloween event on stream and some spooky multiplayer game in the dead of night. It's the late hours that are the hardest, especially since we're usually passing the 18 hour mark at that point. I'm anxious to talk about it because it's so effing soon. I drive up there Friday after work to set up the Command Center (re: living room). It's soon. So soon! Ah, I was thinking of my own channel in this instance. I've been working on getting my own streaming thing going once I have the time. But since I can't participate this year, I'll donate some money. This is an annual drive, right? Edit: Oh, duh, I get it. You can do an extra life drive anytime, this is just the one you run. I thought it was like a day set aside for a mass drive of streamers, kind of like a massive 5K run, but for video games.
  17. ... the red water comes out... uh... I mean when kooky hijinks just spontaneously happen. Walls of goobues, rings of fat chocobos, everyone mandervilling around the Limsa Aetheryte crystal, etc. Basically when people take a time out from the rat race and just do something weird.
  18. Crap, I wish I knew about this sooner. I volunteered to pick up a Saturday shift at work. I was thinking how cool it would be to stream a playthrough of Wolfenstein: The New Order and maybe some COD2 if there's time left. I've been on a World War 2 kick ever since I realized I can watch Band of Brothers ANY TIME I WANT* now. *This is actually all the time.
  19. Don't know what I'm doing yet, but I'm dressing up as Judd Crandall from Pet Semetary. You're thinking thoughts not thought of, Louis. You're thinkin' of puttin' him up there, don't deny the thought hasn't crossed your mind, Louis... Sometimes... dead is better.
  20. Y'now, I played TERA, and I was an Amani. Some Castanian girl told my character that I should cover up. The exchange went like this. Girl: Um... you should really put on pants. Your crotch is open... Me: You can see my cloaca? Damn, sorry. But you're not really wearing much, either. Girl: But this is Castanic culture! Me: Yeah? Well in that case, you seem quite cultured. Girl: Thank you. Diplomacy is telling someone to go to hell and having them look forward to the trip.
  21. Earth and Beyond was my 1st MMO, so it's the one I'll never forget. I was a Jen'quai Explorer (Jenpie Exploder) who had a pretty good racket in the mining and taxi industries on my server. I had a mine field I favored pretty heavily in Jupiter that I never really saw anyone else at. Surprising, since Jupiter was the Jen'quai home sector. I miss that field, and idling near in the high radiation zones in Valkyrie Twins or bopping around the asteroid belt. I still get nostalgic for FFXI sometimes. Running through Bastok, the way mandragoras would chase you around in West Sarutabaruta . The Sunbreeze Festival music most of all.
