Poll time! Which one of the two are you most looking forward to? Any number of reasons may justify your decision. I personally am looking forward to Blade and Soul over Black Desert. How well a game plays and PvP is far more important to me than the graphics and amount of content provided.

War and Peace. Sounds like a Tolstoy novel, but whatever. Constant fighting between her own identity, others, and even higher beings as well, while trying to come to terms with the world and herself.

Deciding when to invest time into something versus not investing time into something. The eternal struggle of figuring out "Is it worth my time?" -
PvP in BnS is, quite literally, putting on a faction outfit in the open world and also the Arena. It's an opt-in choice.
-
If I had to compare combat? Black Desert is like Vindictus while BnS is like TERA. I haven't played BDO, but I know BnS doesn't have a dedicated healer/tank class; everyone is dps. Classes can slot in aggro generation in their skilltrees at least though and KFM (Kung-Fu Master) and BM (Blade Master) are the "tanks" in the current meta. Each class has some level of support, but some are better support roles than others. BnS also has ranked arenas, 1v1 and 3v3, and is even part of the eSports scene in Korea. Right now, I can name you the Imperial Network as a PvP community tournament--one I'm personally looking into from an event organizer standpoint--for the NA/EU audience. I'd say go to BnS if you don't mind some linear leveling and want to PvP. If you'd rather have a sandbox and visually pleasant experience, then take a look at BDO. You're looking at a theme park (BnS) and a sandbox (BDO). No idea, but I think BnS even has an RP community in the works? Seems all over the place imo.

Anima Weapons and You: A Guide for Killing Yourself Again
Leggerless replied to Warren Castille's topic in FFXIV Discussion
I bet if the relics were BiS there would be far fewer complaints. Certain classes, such as Warrior and Bard, are not as iffy about the ordeal as everyone else, for example. Not everyone cares about stats though, right? It's just a i210 equivalent weapon afterall; something to match the weapons from raids. There's also some math stating the time invested over useful life ratio is god awful, but beside the point. -
... K-Pop's pretty alright. I'll give it that. Anyways, let's go progressive and trance up the thread a bit. Amazingly, trance music is how I get those zen moments in fighting RP. Great for visualizing combat and scenes ahead of time; kinda like in the Sherlock Holmes movie. (If only I could embed Soundcloud clips...) If you want to go straight to the part I like best in the song, start at 3:32. (The Kago Pengchi one below)

Aya's pretty nice to be around and also the "face" of the Quicksand. You think of the Quicksand, you're likely thinking of the barmaid associated with it. Her avatar's a character in Shotgun Shuffle too. -

Right within my expectations. Betting next week it's around 80 again. Call me when it breaks 128 because you'll make another round at that point. -
Howdy guys. It's poll time. Pick an option or options above, post a reply below if you want to go into more detail, and let's find out the kind of RP that people like to see or do around here. Figure by doing this, we get a public gauge of people's interests.

First, Samurai Jack gets a revival. Then, Psychonauts gets a sequel. And soon we'll have the next Star Wars film out in December. This year just keeps better and better.

A calm breeze passed by as she stood at the edge of the cliff. Clad in black and red, she gazed into the distance with her left hand resting on the hilt of her sheathed blade. The sky was clear and speckled with stars, even past the midnight bell and nearing the fifth. "Lieutenant, hm? To think the lone wolf would make it so far at such an age." She turned her head a few degrees left and gave only a glance as acknowledgement towards the figure's sudden arrival before she looked forward once more. The man looked no older than 40 cycles, wore a Maelstrom officer's uniform of red, black, and gold, and had a pleasant air around him. "...Lieutenant Shade." "At ease, Elise." Shade said with the faintest of smiles. "For you to address an equal that way... it's as if you're still a Sergeant." Elise turned her head towards the Hyur, speaking softly yet firmly. "Heidrek." "That's better!" He said with joy. "Slight vitriol in your words, but it's getting better!" Elise averted her gaze from the man and looked out towards the sea once more, hesitating. "Why did you select me for your platoon?" "Hrm. Why did I select you?" He raises an eyebrow at the question and cups his hand to his cheek, pondering the question. "Well, I hate giving my soldiers preferential treatment... but if I had to say so..." He looks towards her, pointing at the woman and making a handgonne with his fingers. "Tenacity. You simply refuse to die." "That... that's it?" She blinked once... twice--thrice at the response. "Nothing else? The training I underwent, the knowledge I had--none of that mattered?" "Not one bit." He said plainly. Elise shakes her head in disbelief for a few moments before chuckling at the thought, but Heidrek continuted speaking before she could reply. "Any skills are useless without willpower behind them. A soldier who's determined is better than a soldier who flees from merely thinking about combat." As he finished speaking, he pulled out a small canteen from his overcoat and opened the top, the smell of whiskey soon emerged as he took a drink. With his hand, he offered her a drink as well but soon recoiled. "Ah. You don't drink much." He said, before bringing the bottle back to his mouth for yet another drink. "No, I don't. I flirt with Nald'Thal too much for unneccessary risks." "Flirt with him, do you..." His voice trails off as he too looks out towards the sea. "Heidrik, what happened at Carteneau... I'm sorry. I saved as many as I could. If I just had the power to do so, then..." He placed his right hand on her left shoulder, an oddly chilling sensation Elise felt as he touched her. "Ah, my young Lieutenant! Two mistakes! First, you're wishing for power; a feeling that could very well corrupt your being. Second, you're overthinking and doubting yourself here. You were selfless when others would be selfish, even in the face of danger." He patted her shoulder lightly two times. "You're becoming a fine, young leader. Only a matter of time before you surpass me; no need for shortcuts." Elise held back a smile as he spoke and withheld her words for a few moments longer, instead keeping her eyes focused on the sunrise from the east. "Ah, the sun's already up is she? Azeyma seems to be getting up earlier than usual this time of year..." Heidrik released his hand from her shoulder as he finished speaking, standing upright and gazing still at the sea. "Simply another day for her though, Heidrik." Elise states as she turns her head to the left. The filled spot on her left was now empty, however, coming and going like a calm breeze. She stood there for several minutes before she knelt down on the ground--her eyes now seeing a quaint stone tablet. Elise unsheathed her sword and stabbed it down into the ground in front of her, tying a small, vibrant, and crimson cloth to where the pommel and grip met. For several minutes, she continued kneeling. At the end she gave a quick prayer, stood up once more, looked towards the sky, and adjusted her glasses. "...It's raining again, Ms. Hat." She wiped the tears from her face and turned away from the grave--walking inland. And then... A bite at Moraby Drydocks. A lonely walk back to Limsa.

OOC nameplate is different from the IC nameplate. IC name is in search info. I stopped caring after a certain point. Nowdays, I'll make a joke ICly if they call me by the OOC name and not the name I ICly use.

Seems like you're desperate for RP and need some motivation. Just know that getting into RP circles doesn't happen overnight. You'll have to work and take the initiative to cement yourself.

The package comes with both the letter and wrapped up Pastry Fish Ser and Madam Castille, I find myself inventing more and more ways to stay entertained. Some are so articulated that only an arcanist from Maelvaan's Gate could dare hope to decipher such works without headache. Others are... well. We'll merely say not fit for words. This leaves me a few categories: illegal dealings, situation at Maelstrom Command, or perhaps art. For many reasons, I elect not to write about the first of the three this time. Though the position granted me some extra liberty I am without complete freedom and may not freely discuss such topics with... civilians. The second one, I may write about. I trust you're familiar with the incidents in Ishgard? Mayhaps more so with the... grandiose celebration they've held just a few moons ago, rather than the class structure issues ever present within the Brume. The recent move was political in nature, if I may so freely offer my opinion. While more of our merchants--and even some of our own recent Maelstrom recruits, according to some documents--are making their way up north, a large portion of Limsans appear keen on one zone in particular: Skysteel Manufactory. Maelvaan's Gate--perhaps I should simply call them 'Customs' now?--reported a large increase of goods from that particular area; the evidence for my conclusion. It isn't just in Limsa Lominsa as well with the firearms; in Ul'dah, I've read such items are more commonly appearing amongst the wares of brokers in the Sapphire Exchange. T'would appear it only a matter of time before they came about them, hm? I suppose that leaves me with art, now does it... hrm. Mayhaps a bit of poetry this time. Command hinted at larger paperwork for the coming weeks so I most certainly don't have the pleasure of artistic exploration. As I was saying though... poetry. Forgive me if it is not well-made. In the morn I saw the sky, full of red; The sun's slow ascent over the sea as I plop out of bed and grab warm black tea. The next meal came at sky clear blue with a freshly grilled fish, placed next to a mug's fresh brew, over a tasty rice dish. At home, I took out the leaf greens for a treat from the chef's book. Add the pepper and beans and seated comfy in my nook. Stars shine in the sky as it turns black, yet Nald'Thal knows... we'll cycle back. Signed, Elise

I am a straight Elvaan--er Eleven. Recently changed into it so I could be the race I played in FFXI and FFXIV 1.0. They have the highest DEX here and paired well with Samurai in XI. Wiki's in the signature.
