Seeming I got two chars with different opinions, suppose I best post them both aye? Virella being the Ishgardian scum she is, sees her as some divine guidance. I mean, the woman has the Fury's three spears carved in her wrist. For her unbeliever vs believer is a hot topic, as well the little blurb in the Enchiridion "All are equal beneath Her gaze" became a thing she rails onto after she had her halfbreed child. Vi still thinks her war with the Dravanians is commanded by Halone to do such, and gladly seeks to obey her. We all know that origin story is bullshit, but hey, indoctrination is hard to get rid of, even if she does start to question things. The Church however... she lost faith in them. The Fury herself? Still devout a worshipper. Funny side effect though... Virella has a massive lack of respect for anyone who praises Nophica mainly (so yeah, she isn't too fond of a lot of Gridanians) due to Halone and her being rivals. Avelyn just see her as the daughter of her God, Rhalgr. Whereas she respect Halone, she is far from the object of worship for Ave. War is but a part of possible destruction after all. Respect is there, and certainly keeps her mind when it comes down to prayer, although Ave's way of prayers is bloodshed. So eh. Yeah. Virella thankfully on the other hand just sits down and prays like a 'normal' person.

... Yeah I think I will just use some random generator at this point to keep things fair. TOO MANY PRETTY CHARS And yes I can draw men as well Thank you all so far for your kind words ect <3 And I probably will close this someday Monday morning (EU timezone) because I may be forced away from my keyboard whole Sunday. First got to deal with family, and then I'm attending LoL EU finals in Rotterdam with friends later that day

balmung The Grindstone - Saturdays at 10 PM EST (9 PM Central)

Shit now I got to show up this weekend Curse you EU timezones and resetting my sleeping pattern to normal people times ;_; -
Sup my fellow roleplaying nerds, I happen to be super duper bored, and enjoying the living hell out of drawing these little sprites with my mouse, and I need the practice. So. You want any like these? For nothing, totally free, and barely any effort to be done on your part but to post a screenshot (or more)? Well... the only thing you need to do is to throw your character references down below (nice and clear screenshot(s) of your character, preferable of their face), and I might just end up making your char into one of these. If your RPC wiki has nice screenshots, you can simply link your RPC wiki page as well. Just make it easy for me to draw your character, and don't make me dig trough pages of your Tumblr to find a reference! That said, I Can't promise you I will draw your character, as I will only pick 1-2 at best. Being friends with me, or be my worst enemy isn't suddenly going to increase or decrease your chances, as I'm simply looking for interesting characters to draw ♥‿♥ I will leave this open till Sunday, and pick a one or a few characters to draw, somewhere in the Evening/Night (EU times).

The Vent Tent - Poor PuGs and Other Terrible Tales
Virella replied to Gegenji's topic in FFXIV Discussion
If you used Eos like this Then you are my personal trigger. Only use her if you want to actively micromanage your SCH pet, else go Selene. Eos I rarely pull out. Last time I remember was last phase in t13 where we needed her. Else? Eh. Selene is your better choice. -
The Vent Tent - Poor PuGs and Other Terrible Tales
Virella replied to Gegenji's topic in FFXIV Discussion
I like to go in as a Class instead of a Job in the old 50 raids, fire my ACT on, and laugh at the fact I'm still outdpsing most people : < Not sure if you still can though... My old FC and me used to do this on our drunken weekend lols, was quite a bit of fun. But yeah, it makes me kinda sad that you can outdps people as your Class and not your Job. Oh and today we've wiped on the second boss of Lost City because other DPS cbaed to attack the Arcane bubble thingy. Many sads were had. -
Whitebrim has a bell I believe

Think you summed up my thoughts perfectly there, Graeham. Being from the EU has its drawbacks, especially because our community used to be a lot more... conflict based for roleplay, most on the US shy away from that type of roleplay, and I miss that.
-
That was the plan! We have to be tough to make up for looking naturally adorable. 99.9999% of my villains are lalafells
-
As far as I know, I don't think I ever heard of such.

Both games are good? Maybe once upon a time kek. FFXIV used to be pure shit back in 1.0, now WoW is pure shit. Hope Legion fixes shit for my fallen brothers and sisters still roleplaying on that piece of crap game. But I doubt it http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/starcraft-2/128252-a-short-history-of-activision-blizzard-or-how

Few suggestions... 1. Get rid of the Calender as it is now. I honestly forget about the existence of the bloody thing, and I think 95% of the RPC does as well. Just... a forum section, a separate box, and a calender? That's like 3 places for events to be posted. It is a bit overkill. Forum part I totally get existing for managing events and interest checks ect, but the event box and calender both? Eh, not a fan due to often events missing on either of the two. Like I didn't bloody know about the Grindstone for ages when I came to Balmung, no one of my friend group at the time gone to that event, and I never saw it in the event box, and the calender bit was completely lost upon me. Currently Nefzen's posts are way more reliable than the RPC posts are (even if she does post her event list on the RPC), and the RPC should be on par with it imo. 2. Why doesn't the RPC split up IC and OOC recently updated threads? I think that would be a lovely idea perhaps. I feel IC threads get buried easily. 3. Recent images. Why is this still here? I mean, I love sharing art as much as the other person, but a thread could do just fine on it as well? It doesn't get updated that much... I would personally get rid of it and make place for the IC/OOC recently updated threads I spoke of.

So yeah, I figured, let us all make a list of shit you always wanted to see happening on Balmung, but you never ended up doing for whatever reason. And maybe make them happen anyhow. Rhalgr Praising; the proper Ala Mhigan/Fist of Rhalgr way. I'm talking here nothing about friendship, how destruction makes way for new life, how the Destroyer is actually a very benevolent, nice God according to some. No, proper "Murder Garleans, fuck the nobles, purge weakness, death to Nymeia's flock, burn the Corpse Brigade, only the strong will survive" type of ordeal. I always wanted to have something focused on the little blurb of "Fist of Rhalgr are savages" event. No place for discussion type of deal, seeming I have intended it for the brutal Ala Mhigan lot, and people who are prone to give a lip most likely will be murdered on the spot. Perhaps some outsiders who worship Rhalgr, or some are interested, but I don't think this would be the logical place to go whine about the practices and speeches taking place there. Maybe some happy Garlean, Corpse Brigade sacrifices. Really more going towards the practise of Ala Mhigans being ruthless people. Fanatics and people who wish to observe them (and capable of keeping their lips sealed if they object). Maybe not even observers, I'm not sure. Remembrance of the Death Why I never really see events like this is a shame. My old roleplay community had a few every year, they worked great. Keep roleplay in party chat ect. Let some people who wish to have speeches address the crowd; mostly priests of the Twelve come in mind. Something religious focused at the same time. Our old community used to write notes to their loved ones, and burned at the end of the event. It can be a nice writing exercise at the same time. Notes don't have to be written, and you can simply said your character wrote something, or you can actually write them, post them on the RPC, or tumblr or wherever you want to, or not. More Illegal Fighting Pits + IC bets This was a huge success on one of my old old old roleplaying communities. Bets IC were being placed on people every week, outcomes ended up being rigged from time to time, people who rolled NPC characters for this purpose sometimes ended up murdered on 'accident' ect. Of course PC would be welcome as well. In truth due to Balmung's terrible character creation, I expect mostly PCs to be in there. /roll will be used mostly of the time, unless two people came to an agreement before the fight. Keep it to a few fighters, so the event doesn't drag out. Basically for people who are low on gil IC, or like betting, or Lanista and Gladiator scum wanting some roleplay in as well. No OOC gil involved. So well, that were just some things I had in mind. Now Balmung, toss me your ideas around, and see if we can make some of this happen someday perhaps.

Lets see how well this new Discussion tag does shall we? I am genuinely interested if people made characters who are meant to die at a certain point. Completely planned, and not due to some consequences due to roleplay. Personally I have axed a few characters in my past, some planned, some not so planned. Avelyn for example, will die at one point on the mere fact I cannot see her story progress beyond retaking Ala Mhigo. All her other goals she has in life are nothing compared to retaking the temples she grew up in it, and hells, I don't want her other goals completed due to me enjoying a bittersweet ending. That said, if it turns out due to roleplay her goal completely changes, I won't be adversed to not killing her off, but it is unlikely. But yes, I'm curious to find out how many people, if any, wrote characters who are meant to have their story end at some point. Or alternatively, what do you think about people who kill off their characters? I mostly of the time simply continue to roleplay with the person on their new character. Of course I sort of miss the character itself, but in the end, it has always provided me with character progression when a close ties dies to my character. Thoughts?

Ave? Playing harp and singing, but it is hardly something will catch her doing. Vi? Eh. Sewing >_> They are mundane distractions they like doing when no one is looking.

While I don't mind extra boards, I always found lore and character workshop a bit... I don't know sometimes I run into things who are technically very much both, and I end up scratching my head where to exactly post it. But that may just be me. Quick edit: Something beyond just events. My old community had so many posts on their forums with like "Interest checks for x events" to get people to see if certain events were something others were interested in, or if other individuals would liked to help. Some board like that might be great? I've really missed that on here so far.

If you got declined twice in a row, your character might simply not be lore adhering, and yes, if you're roleplaying the typical cutesy wutesy Lalafell, while they are totally legit, most people will flat out avoid you (I admit, I'm among those individuals myself, because it simply isn't my cup of tea). It is hard to start out in any new roleplay community, and I just ended up having to dig for folk myself as well, and those folk ended up introducing me to a lot of others in return. It is a matter of running into the right people, visiting events ect. Yes it can be frustrating if things don't go instantly the way you wanted, despite doing effort for it. I came here completely alone. As an EU player. I knew no one. Yet it worked out for me. I loathe to say it, but making a Making Connections thread may work, it did for me, as well showing up at events. Runestone and Grindstone for example can be great for meeting new folk.

More punchy folk for Rhalgr, yissss
-
Virella doesn't see heretics, au ra and dragons as people, so it is NP for her to kill them. However as for the other races of men? She never killed those, don't think she ever will. Avelyn is a proper Fist of Rhalgr. Not the pansy friendship is magic Monk, but the "I write my prayers in blood" type of deal (when she's not being a drunk hobo). And with the German quest saying you need to refill your chakras with aether... Well I say no more.

From what I'm reading here... I got to echo Capheira words here. What you seem to be trying is to roleplay are Archons, and those people are ehhh. Well, we haven't seen them on Eorzea in forever, and those are lore figures (the current ingame event is all about this). So I would personally shy away from it. However a LS for echo users ect? THAT would be super cool. Or perhaps just find people who are super dedicated to their Gods ect. However I could be completely off that this was your intention. Anyhow... What are Archons? In any case, have my full post on that sort of stuff http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=15228&pid=244032#pid244032

If you ERP is your main thing, the DN forums are your way to go, and not so much the RPC I fear. However welcome regardless!
