1. I'm rooting for a Shaman class if Ala Mhigo becomes our expansion. Who knows.
2. "You mean, what I have to spend a shitton of effort and more money then the US?" Well hopefully the Dutch one won't be as bad, but knowing SE at this rate they won't use some weirdo promo with bol.com and we have to endure Gamestop of variant of it. Fuck that.

Heya!

The RPC is more an OOC gathering hub of roleplayers, nothing else really. There are some people who post storylines for people to join in, but the RPC itself? Nope, they don't run anything but for managing this site. Welcome o7
4. In the end it is up to you, but it seems a bit absurd to be raised by moogles. You can make her as independent, or shy as you wish, with normal parents as well. The Calamity killed a lot of people, so if you don't want to have them around, it is easy enough to get rid of them.
5. My old roleplaying community had one. It was fairly interesting seeming they plucked members from various different roleplay communities from the servers. Quite a bit of people ended up tuning into it every time.
6. I play a Fist of Rhalgr. So I play a muscle wizard. Not exactly a mage + sword wielder, but still someone who uses magic while punching folk around. How do I get around it? By not having her go around and beat the shit out of everyone for no apparent reason. With great power comes great responsibility, more so OOC then IC. Or in Ave's case give her severe case alcoholism, depression and not bothering to do shit. I made her an alcoholic on purpose so she would 'mellow out'. Barking dog never bites ect. There's plenty of ways to work around it with whatever character concept. I feel it is more so the player's responsibility to make it work OOC rather than IC. Ave's still not dumbed down in her abilities, she simply can't be arsed to, what in turns makes it capable for me to roleplay her in an unmoderated scene. Next to that I sort of make sure people I roleplay with are kinda on the same line as I am, and make sure there's a mutual understanding on what Ave is (or their characters for that matter). Else? I don't even touch the fact her powerlevels are over 9000 in casual roleplay, because it won't come up anyhow.
7. I played it safe with Ave, and mostly my headcanons revolve around ancient Ala Mhigan tribe rituals. And seeming SE gave RPers the freedom to say "Yup, you can create your own clan, you don't have to be of one of the ones we gave you", I don't think its going to turn out to be problem. But else I will just slap myself on the wrist, and retcon it if need be. Simple as that.
8. 1. Yes several. I come for a RP server where cockiness without skills, or social group, would get you killed. Also, adventures and combat had a real chance onto your character dying as well. GMs wouldn't purposely kill your character, but it happened quite often. Getting attached to a character was a huge mistake. That said, I get highly attached to certain roleplayers instead, for the better or worse due to it. I've made quite a few awesome friends due to it. 2.We all know our characters would die some time sooner or later. We would either laugh about how they died, or congratulate people for having a nice ending to a story. Mostly of the time it was the former. Gods, I can still remember throwing my mage at a dragon to save her comrades. She gone out with a blast, and It was awesome. Rerolling a new character however only took like 15 mins at best. 3. Their character their choices. I don't feel that it is much of a gain in a setting where people don't have a real chance to die to begin with. However, despite that, I do warn people that I may or may not kill Avelyn off due to the fact I don't see the merits of pushing her story beyond retaking Ala Mhigo. That is her main goal. There's only so many spin off chapters you can write you know? I did this with my Blood Knight in WoW as well. Their lore going to shits, I didn't like her concept any more, or the forced change of being 'evil' to 'good'. Redemption can be nice but... Meh. That said, in Ave's case, if I find a reason for her to live. I will. It really depends for me personally whether the First of Rhalgr are going back to proper Destroyer worshippers (see H'raha Tia), or continue to try to form the new Justice League. Surely, I can find ways to work around it. Stray from the 'majority' of Fists, and continue to have her be stuck in the old ways. In truth, I'm mostly doing that anyhow beyond one other roleplayer. But if the Fist of Rhalgr get completely reformed into such an absurd hippy cult defenders of the weak BS, Ave is most likely going to be axed. I really hope there will be still a sect, or whatever you want to call it, within the FoR who flat out refuses to let go of the old ways. Surely, I had people argue "but why don't you change her? It is character progression?" No, I won't, because playing the 'good guy' bores the living hell out of me. Unless Rhalgr Himself comes down and tells Ave to be a goody two shoe, she ain't going to be. I'd sooner see her story to an end then continue roleplaying something what I don't really see the purpose of any longer. I don't mind character progression, but there's only so much I can do without just going "who in the Seven Hells are you now?" Getting Ave to lay off the bottle, and stop snarking around is one of the things for example I'd see more mandatory at this point. But changing her completely? No, I won't do that. I honestly don't know if I will reach those two goals to begin with, as I don't force it myself, but instead let other roleplayers influence her on that department. Funnily enough, most case her to drink and grump even more. But I don't mind that either. It is... character progression in a backwards way? Anyhow... I think that is what a lot of roleplayers tend to forget. Sometimes a character's purpose has been served. Yes, I've considered writing her into getting sidetracked, or get injured, but would Ave still be Ave then? No, not really. I don't mind the idea of character progression on her, not at all, but I don't want to break her core either. But. In the end, I'm going to do a wait and see. And the people surrounding Ave highly influence her as well to begin with; and my drive to kill or off or not. I don't want to lose the roleplay I have with people currently, but if the story of FFXIV gets pushed to the point it would break Ave as a character? No, I'd sooner reroll another character either due to killing her off, or simply retiring her. That said, this is far from recent thoughts. I've warned people about this all the time as soon they get remotely close to Ave. The moment I made her, it was a decision I made about her story, and the possible end of it. TL: DR; Vi likes playing zealots and kills characters her off when their organisation gets forced into a weird redemption plot lorewise. And ib4 people go "DONT KILL AVE OFF PLS" I really don't know yet.
9. Cheers! Although not to be a pain, could you change it into EU/NA? We've just had a brief discussion about it, and thought it might be bit more fitting! Sorry for the hassle!
10. I really hope if they add a new race that they will give us something more interesting than jailbait waifus. Twelve be damned on au ra. But yeah, I'd sooner see the announcement of "Hey no PS3. We are giving you all a new character creator! Enjoy!"
11. /Casually throws this into the thread EU-Friendly: The Mythril Blades
12. Just pitching on the MNK AF gear. The French version of the game mentioned it is heresy and highly insulting to wear Cyclas as a non-Fist of Rhalgr, and punishable by death (implied). So. Yeah. You don't want to do that either. "Because they are imbued the Destroyer of power, only the monks of the Fist Rhalgr are allowed to wear them, after having overcome many hardships... got stolen, an insult to our order... We will take care to punish the heretics and trample them." - vague quick bad translation of the 45 Monk Quest in French on temple garbs.

14. Dawn Father for Raen, and Dusk Mother for Xaela! There's also the Xaelan gods Nhama (moon goddess, worshipped by the Kagon tribe) and Azim (sun goddess, worshipped by the Oronir and despised by the Kagon). These are stated, I believe, to be separate gods from the similar-sounding members of the Twelve. I'm sure there's more but I can't remember off the top of my head. Sorry. ;; I JUST WOKE UP OKAY ;_; But ty for correcting me
15. Just going to throw some food for thought out. People in this setting are religious. Because magic exists. Whereas folk from Othard do not have the Twelve, they got their own gods. The Dusk Father and the Dusk Mother for the Xaela and Raen respectively. And the Domans seem to praise all things surrounding them. So making a char /not/ religious is rather odd. It's valid, but they would be more the exception but the norm. That said... I don't think running around in Garlean outfit + not believing they are a real soldier is something what would happen... But that is totally up to you.
16. Uuuh. I tend to keep it logical, and not so much silly. However some people don't have their right God on their characters due to forgetting it with fantasia change, or just don't care. Vi is Ishgardian, thus Halone. Ave's Ala Mhigan and a Fist, therefor Rhalgr. My roe on the other hand is a Lamb of Dalamud, so I gave her Menphina as her Goddess due to the prison Bahamut was kept in was named "Menphina's Loyal Hound". I mean, as long people are happy with whatever choice they made which God is their main object of praise, or all, or none, it doesn't really matter to me what their reasoning is. In truth, I like some the examples you've given, especially with Byregot for example, but the irony ones just reeks as stupidity without a story, and I can hardly see why a person who for example is indeed a pacifist would praise Rhalgr or Halone. There's better Gods for people like that. I kinda like people's main god to make a bit of sense? Whether they praise them directly for what they stand for, it a more poetic meaning, that's cool. Just sheer stupidity? Eh. It can make for interesting roleplay, I suppose. Although people are pretty defensive of their Gods, so folk could see it as a massive insult. Like a pacifist Fist for Ave would be about one of the biggest insults someone could deliver her. If you like conflict? Cool. But I think it is more trouble than its worth when you make their God choices come off as a joke. Religion be a serious thing in Eorzea yo.
17. I will try to catch you both ingame at some point today, or the coming days !
18. Okay shitton more coming in on topics who interest me. With the new Lore Finder things are a lot easier to find. Rhalgr's Bile is named Rhalgr's Blood in German For people who don't know what it is, it is an extremely lethal, and hard to make potion, previously having been used to assassinate an Ala Mhigan King. It probably was just a change to make it sound better, as blood sometimes is used anyhow for poison to begin with. Rhalgr's Galle doesn't sound as neatly as Rhalgr's Blut after all. Rhalgr-something blessing/greetings/curses translated By Rhalgr's will. By Rhalgr! May Rhalgr be with you (we are suddenly turning into Jedi right guys?) May Rhalgr give you the strength you seek. Rhalgr's salutations (I'm going to assume this is meant to be Rhalgr's blessings rather). Thank Rhalgr! May Rhalgr favour you in all battles. May the Destroyer steer his powerful lightning in your favour. WE FISTS ARE REALLY A CULT GUYS "They teach the divine predetermination, and promise power in return for obedience. For me, the "Fist of Rhalgr" a religion like any other, because it has the same goal - to control other individuals." Okay Erik is based up to the heavens, but still. Or at least, Fists seem to be cult ish as well in this version. Fist of Rhalgr have Oaths The WoL is said to fight as a Fist, yet Widargelt tells him he is not a true Fist, doesn't have to join his order, I think, but the most clear is that he says that the WoL doesn't have to swear such an oath. Rhalgr, possibly Fist of Rhalgr, Philosophy. Maybe? "All new beginnings requires the total destruction. The destruction is the beginning." Has to do with the Eternal Bonding ceremony quest. This is what you get at Rhalgr's stone apparently. I still found it an interesthing thing to mention regardless! Conjurers are Druids Nothing to be said than conjurers ain't call conjurers, but druids rather in German. Probably might be due to the fact it is well, German, it is probably made for a better with the player base! But still interesting nonetheless. Talisman is being spoke off, rather than scroll Sorry guys, more Rhalgr nonsense here, because I'm translating the things I find interesting first. So it seems in this quest patriotic Ala Mhigans wear them! However I'd always imagine they did that sort of thing to begin with, but it is nice to see some ingame reference to it. "Rhalgr has left us." I'm really not sure if Gundobald is using this as a way to complain, or if he really believes Rhalgr has turned the back onto the Ala Mhigans. Either way fits into the context sadly enough.
19. Twelve Bless XIVDB. You too can have your personal Sounsyy in a website format! I'm joking, but this is a gift from the Twelve themselves. Lore Finder on XIVDB
20. Just poke me on Avelyn Firestone once the servers get up. And once people, if you got kicked on accident, please whisper me as well.
21. http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=13949 This thread in the past had some interesting discussions onto soulstones
22. Yeah that's the thing with me doing 24 mans, and I can't really do it, but I fire up my ACT and see if I can still keep up with folk. I was so pissed when I was pulling 1400 with my 210 weapons, just to see some twelvedamned ninja with 240 pulling near 1700. I just gave up, and was k with being second. No really, in dungeons I end up being that fucker who parses and go "can I still out dps people who have better gear". And I severely will judge people if I can out dps them still. I won't call them out for it, unless they are like hitting like wet noodles, at best I will go "Oh DPS seems slow guys". I'm a terrible snob at times. Urgh I need better weapons, but I don't wanna relic or raid sadface. Anyhow my old EU FC on Cerberus, we used to get into the old 24s a lot with another raiding guild. We always had like little games who could out dps folk. I really enjoy doing that. I'm super competitive with these things. But yeah, in the end I like RP more, and I find it hard to manage raiding with RP, so I dropped the serious stuff. Then again, I got so bored of the 24 mans at some point that I gone in as ACN and see who I could out dps (mind you at that point I was fully final coil geared on my smn. Don't get me started on how much smn sucked compared to second coil. I just wanted to ruin II all night long and bookslap the shit out of bosses for more dps. Sadly enough that fun got taken away from me. They did give us some buffs... but yeah...). SURPRISINGLY ENOUGH STILL QUITE A FEW PEOPLE. What made be cry and laugh at the same time.
