Feel free to give me a poke once I'm online! Sadly enough past two days I've been terribly busy with irl, but hopefully around the weekend I shall be online whenever I can
-
I generally don't do combat with people I do not know. Else, Virella, heck, she's a mage, a teleport IC far away from whoever is pestering her is easy enough

Facial hair on men can be sexy as fudge tho. MORE BEARS PLEASE.

Welp. I tend to ignore it completely for the most part. However I heard people joke about it being the time of the month ect, and I don't mind that! I'm just too lazy to keep a track onto it really, and well, lack of knowledge of the subject how things are handled in Eorzea. So well, yarp. I just avoid it.

Free Commisions! (With a catch) Sasha's doodly corner. (NOW OPEN!)

While I find the whole ordeal of faceclaim silly as fudge, in truth, they can somewhat help if people go "Oh well, she has a face build like x" or "x his nose"! Artists love references, even if they are silly! However some people expect you to draw Britney Spears with a bunch of miqo'te ears on it, that goes a bit... too far x_X! Good luck with your drawing stuff, sounds like an awesome idea to do ! -
Duskwight in Ishgard [Tag your spoilers if needed!]
Virella replied to Virella's topic in RP Discussion
Thank you all so far for your replies ! -
Because everyone seems to have a different opinion about them being around in Ishgard, and being one of the existing high houses, let me know what you think! Personal opinion/theory: Duskwights are around in Ishgard, however Duskwight have not a single thing to do with the founding of the four high houses as we know them today. Why Virella? You cave-dweller hater. Why of course! Duskwight only exist for 450 years, seeming the split off from the Wildwood when Gridania got created, so that rules out Duskwight origin for the high houses right away, seeming Ishgard is 1000 years old when it got founded! (and it is stated that the Ishgardians are of a Wildwood clan in any case) So that theory personally died out for me rather quickly when I started to think about it logically, and with that, wiping away that the Dzemael were Duskwight from the start. However, I imagine they have been marrying Duskies, or at least gaining children, as the current heirs of Dzemael appear to be Duskwight! What is interesting, perhaps marrying outsiders is not that big of a deal then, as long they are the same race and dedicated to the cause? Because if we go back to the 1000 years ago scenario, there were no Duskwight yet, so they must have been married (or at least one of the Dzemael women had a slip up at the very least) into the family line at some point, and who knows, perhaps became the dominant 'gene' in the family so to speak! *Flops* Let me know what you think! Give me your crazy theories about Duskies in Ishgard, I'd love to hear them.

How did I miss this thread? I think Ishgard does not really care about the average hobo trying to invoke trail by combat. Think it is more so a thing for people with some status/reputation, nobles, known faces ect. Heck. The use CHILDREN to get 'valid' heresy claims with trading them candy. Dabbling into heresy roleplay is either having your character run for their lives before arrested, or otherwise, well, unless you are an Ishgard noble, or have some other high status in Ishgard, the only logical thing to do there is to say your goodbyes, because execution seems to be inevitable.

[Spoilers] Dark Knights, Am I the Only One?
Virella replied to -no longer matters-'s topic in RP Discussion
Right but whose to say a DRK wasn't in Othard (sp) for X reasons (They do travel.)and fell and his Soul Crystal was discovered by an Au Ra, and that Au Ra then spread the teachings to others.. I mean it's VERY plausible, thanks to the DRK Class quest. I mean hell War found hers on a corpse frozen in The Coerthas Highlands, and was mostly self trained until she met a man at Camp Dragonhead that trained her. Because that is getting a bit too much into taking liberties with lore, and making things up, instead of well, adjusting to the lore given. Live and let live; I am not going to berate people for it if they want to make up their own headcanons and roleplay as such, however I prefer sticking to lore as closely as possible, and I would ask people to reconsider to play with what we have, because, hell, a roleplayer should adjust his/her character to the lore, and not dance around the lore to adjust it to his/her character. However what you did with War, I think that is a perfect example of having an "outsider" taking it up the DRK mantle believable without making lore up into someone's favour! -

Sarnai: fear we got to agree to disagree then! I'm really a firm believer that the quests are rooted into Ishgard for a reason; and with it being pointed out that the first DRK was found in Ishgard, and taking the knowledge that even AST did not manage to spread to Limsa, I cannot imagine DRK knowledge has spread outside Ishgard/Coerthas. It may be starting to spread now. But going "Hehoooo I'm a DRK from Othard." is stretching the limits a bit too far me personally. -

That said, with a few exceptions, I really do not think there are... I wanted to say many, but I would say, any DRK outside Ishgard. Of course now the questline has opened, there may be apprentices, but even between the Ishgardians I'd imagine they are still well, not overly much so out in the open, seeming /insert questline spoilers. Same with Astrologians. Sharlayans are /insert questline spoilers. In truth, if you want to go full out with the Astromancy, you either have to been in Sharlayan, or be one yourself. The rest seems all. Well /insert questline spoilers. I really doubt Astrology as the Sharlayans have gotten far out into the world, with the exception of people studying there (and at the end of the questline, in Ishgard, but heck, that's even under x mostly). Heck, Limsa does not even know of Astrologians as shown in the questline, and you would think they would be on top of that with their star map readings and pirates. Machinist? Magitek gets used everywhere, however Ishgard is the first city state who's actually arming its people in it to use it against their enemies, whereas the rest hasn't shown off as much usage of it (We got firearms in Limsa, obviously, but that ain't magitek). Domans got to awesome opportunity to be super duper awesome at it due to living under Garlean rule (and I guess some Ala Mhigans who fled later on from the city). Unless a non-Ishgardian (Or Sharlayan in AST case) knows how to AST/DRK super duper well, while their city states have no knowledge of x, I'm going to scratch my head and ask people to rethink their concepts twice if they cannot come up with being someone who travelled to Sharlayan, or having been tutored in Ishgard. It is the same as Eorzeans being super skilled at being a Ninja, it just makes me scratch my head. Leave that on apprentice level, and to the Doman rpers x_X -
I fear at the moment all I could do with Vi is give her books on the subject, and many do some very casual teaching due to being pregnant; she would love to get more inquisitors on her good side after all, and wouldn't mind helping out. However it wouldn't make sense to go any further then that (Unless you are willing to wait a half year, but... )

Oh that would be great to have a system like that! Hell I only get aggressive on War when I'm working Security and someone gives me a hard time, or as a Body guard and someone threatens my client. In games in the past when people tried to unrealistically tough guy me I'd through down a PvP duel. Can't do that here. It has it downsides as well, as people's characters getting ganked for the lulz, or if people did not like one another OOC, they started to plot against people IC. It was fun, but it certainly had a lot of pitfalls as well Mostly of the time you were okay though as long you stayed in the capital cities. On the road you had bandits who would kill you for a few coins if you did not say what they wanted you to do ect. What was fun, but as I said, things could go sour quickly as well.
-
I played on another game were players (and GMs) had the capability of killing each other off. Needless to say, people were a lot less "Look at me grrrr I'm so cool" when threatening a group of people. It happened. But unless the person could talk, or fight his way out of it, rarely people like that survived such stupidity. But as Blue said, it lays that we do not have the ability to kill off people's characters; and that shield allows for people to play as how they want without suffering consequences (not even killing, but injury ect).

/scratches head In truth I have seen more people roleplaying their DRK as "I'm a knight/sellsword with just one big sword." Sadly enough I do not know people's characters enough to tell if they are a DRK besides that (PS I still have not managed to catch you ingame for roleplay x_X!) -
Probably hurling magic at the direction she thought the arrow was coming from. Cursing something heretic this, unbeliever that.
-
As a last resort; you can always watch back cutscenes in an tavernroom in one of the main cities.

I fear in Virella's case it is either sleeping, working, or doing things with the other half, what I'd sooner not give excerpts of what they are doing But yeah. My characters just tend to go trough the daily things of live; work, sleep, shower, socialise with NPCs ect. All the boring things I'd sooner not roleplay, or have no interest in doing such.
