It would be cool if the wiki upgraded its look a bit. I don't mean a software update or whatever, I just mean like... aesthetically. Like a change up from the current starry-background and the logo, and those worn parchment sidebar things. And maybe organize the main page to make it a little less bland & basic. I mean no offense! It's just that the RPC layout is really nice, but when I switch over to the wiki it's just sort of blah in comparison. *hides*

I haven't played WoW in a long while, so I can't really judge the current status of the game. I wish FFXIV had a better PvP system. We don't even have duels ffs. Also, I wish FFXIV had more dynamic classes like there are (or was?) in WoW. ie having the opportunity to branch off and have a choice in roles / abilities / weapon types. I'd want to play a WAR or DRK, but not as a tank. We're sorta relegated to these roles and there's a tremendous lack in diversity imho FFXIV has far superior graphics though, and I much prefer the controls in this game. It feels less jerky. I also like the aesthetic and lore more in FFXIV. Also the player housing, and a bunch of other stuff. I agree with your post! I will add though that this argument can be used against any mmo. Currently I feel like I have nothing else to do in FFXIV, which is why I began roleplaying

MY BIGGEST UNCERTAINTY/INSECURITY... TIME! As someone who predominately roleplayed in forums, adapting to the mmo format has continued to be challenging for me and my particular writing style. I find myself rushing a lot when rping in game. I don't wanna take too long with my responses since I (personally) tend to find long pauses to be awkward in a real-time mmo setting. With that said, as a forum rper I actually prefer having plenty of time to sit back and analyze what my character would say and do next. In MMO rp I feel I don't have that luxury (of time). COMBAT This sort of ties in with my thingy above. I actually love to write combat stuff, but on the spot it's very hard for me and I find myself flailing and hoping I'm not interpreting the other persons actions wrongly. One of the main reasons I've avoided participating in the Grindstone :cry: Also... continuations, I guess. I've had my fair share of rp and met many characters, but I haven't really had anything consistent in terms of development with other characters. It's usually we meet once or twice and that's it. Never anything substantive enough to develop Max. EDIT: OH, AND ALSO.. CROWDED EVENTS AND FLOODED CHATS. I'm always afraid I'll miss something due to the lack of chat bubbles and I find it overwhelming at times.

I mean, it's a fanfic. You should just write the prose you're most comfortable with. Even if it sounds too modernized. Also, couldn't you just ask for a 'simpler' translation of the English dialogue? I think that would be much easier for us to assist you with, as opposed to limiting yourself to 'literal translations' from the Japanese audio. I'm assuming most of us can't understand Japanese, but the lot of us would be able to convey the point of certain English lines that have you confused. To echo Allgivenover above, a direct translation would come out strange and illegible -- surely not of grammatical quality for inspirational purposes. It would be like google translate.

When the person I'm RPing with is only reacting to stuff and not contributing to the scene at all. It's boring as hell to be stuck leading things always. You take the wheel too -- I ain't the only one here drivin'!

Your characters sound awesome and I'd love to have Max meet either of them (hopefully both! ) I'll try to see if you're on tomorrow to at least add ya!
