Cutie pie Au'ra looking for mentors and friends
As'elena replied to Alarianna's topic in Chronicled Connections
Fellow EU player here! My character generally hangs around Vylbrand as well, so we might bump into one another. If you are looking to make La Noscea your primary hub for roleplay, you might also be interested in checking out this linkshell. Knights & Pirates -
While I can't join your crew, I might be able to steer you into the direction of finding likeminded people! I have a linkshell dedicated to any and all Vylbrand related roleplay, so that definitely includes pirates. The channel is primarily used to easily connect with other roleplayers and to drop announcements for events across La Noscea. If you are interested you can give it a quick look. Knights & Pirates LS

Welcome not fellow EU person, but fellow person in a remotely decent timezone to my own!
-
Hello! I play as a member of the Maelstrom and frequently spent my time on Vylbrand. I already have a FC and maxed out LS space atm, but if you need help with anything, I'm always willing! I am an EU player, so my time is a bit tricky, but I happen to be a bit of a lore freak and I do my best to study Lominsan lore intensively. I would love to meet you guys!

What do we know about the Sanguine Sirens and Kracken's Arm
As'elena replied to Morningstar1337's topic in Lore Discussion
Pirates are not part of the main armada, but the new Crimson Fleet is made up of both Knights and Pirates, so it depends really! Some pirates do sail directly under Maelstrom Command. -
What do we know about the Sanguine Sirens and Kracken's Arm
As'elena replied to Morningstar1337's topic in Lore Discussion
The majority of the Maelstrom consists of the main Lominsan Armada which are the Knights of the Barracuda. Pirate gangs play an important part, but is not what the Maelstrom is primarily made up of as far as I'm aware. It is also never really specified how high they are in the chain of command, but I honestly doubt a pirate gang is close to commanding more than the fleet they are a part of. Rhoswen is also a female Hyur Midlander, not a Roegadyn! What we really know about those two pirate gangs is a bit limited however. The Sanguine Sirens are indeed an all-female crew that own the Missing Member in Limsa Lominsa. That being said, they did have one male member in their crew back in 1.0 who used to infiltrate the Barracuda during Sthallman's grand scheme of becoming Admiral. The Kraken's Arms have very little information aside from the fact we know that they control most of the spice trade and that Captain Carvallain might have blood-ties in Ishgard. We don't know for certain the Kraken's are responsible for bringing all that wildlife to Vylbrand but a lot of La Noscean creatures originate from the east. I recall Dodo's come from some island just east of Thanalan and coeurl, I think originate from Thavnair. It is also worth noting that both crews used to frequently use the Astalicia and former illegitimate Marauder's Guild, founded by One-Eyed Hyllfyr, leader of the Bloody Executioners. They are currently known to be the most powerful pirate gang and have a lot of sway over what other pirate crews do. -
Balmung is locked because it has a lot of players on it. The only way to get in is through paid transfer and move multiple characters over in one payment. To my knowledge those servers do not really have any roleplay presence. Outside of Balmung, roleplay is scarce towards non-existent as far as I'm aware.

I was not able to attend the entire event due to timezone and exhaustion stopping me, but it was fun and interesting for the duration I was there. Great event!

discussion Going Lalafell, distinct decline in RP?
As'elena replied to Lamiaris's topic in RP Discussion
Arg... that really sucks. While I certainly understand the reaction, I do wish that lalas wouldn't be painted with the same broad brush. I mean, what can I do to change attitudes? I RP Ralin with the same thoughtfulness I do all of my characters, but to not be given a chance? ._. (On my old server, I changed my gameplay main from midlander to lala for about half a year. Had someone, a friend at that, spam the disgust emote at me whenever he saw me from then on. I've had folks on Balmung talk about hurting or killing my lala alt and joke about how I can't possibly hurt them back. It's funny the first time, but gets old fast. I've definitely been on the receiving end of some lala hate. lol.) I do always give everyone a chance! I don't frequent Ul'dah, so I generally don't encounter many Lalafell at all. (Don't really see them in fair Limsa!) -
discussion Going Lalafell, distinct decline in RP?
As'elena replied to Lamiaris's topic in RP Discussion
Yea, most of my Lalafell experiences have been pretty bad outside of my FC. That being said, one of my very first random roleplay on Balmung was with a Lalafell and it was the best interaction I've had in a good while back then. I regret not adding him to my friend's list and I do not remember his name. -
balmung LF members of the Maelstrom, Pirates etc.
As'elena replied to Soren Lier's topic in Chronicled Connections
I remembered this thread and saw it was abandoned again with no real conclusion! So being the daring sailor I am, I'll bring it back from the depths to re-open this discussion/interest check with an announcement, seeing as it's honestly not big enough to warrant its own thread. I started a Linkshell for anyone willing (and gods permit have space) to join one centered around Limsa Lominsa RP or just the entirety of Vylbrand! The name of the Linkshell is; Knights and Pirates and can be found in the Linkshell List for Balmung. Or just click this easy link right here: Knights & Pirates -
Knights & Pirates is an OOC Linkshell for for anyone who holds IC ties to the Maelstrom, or generally frequents Limsa Lominsa or the rest of Vylbrand in their roleplay. The Linkshell is intended to be an easy means to connect with people who share a similar roleplay concept and allows you to arrange and set up new RP swiftly as Limsa and La Noscea are naturally less crowded and active than other hubs. If you are interested in joining the Linkshell, simply toss one of the following people a /tell in-game or leave a message here! Recruiters: - As'elena Hyun / Yoshirou Ishiku (Linkshell Master) (UTC+1) - C'sien Zoth (Linkshell Leader) (UTC-8) Recurring La Noscean events: - Nefzen's Fight Club, Every Monday 9pm EDT, Limsa Lominsa Lower Deck (x9, y15) - Sunny Seaside Bar, Third Saturday of every month, 7pm GMT/2pm EST, Eastern La Noscea, Hidden Falls (x31, y23) - Spellguard, Friday forthnightly 10pm EST, Mist Ward 6, Seagaze Market. - Skywardens Pub Crawl, Last Thurseday of the month 6:30pm PST, - Balmung Event Calendar, By Nefzen Zhwan Related Free Companies: - Maelstrom Command, A militaristic Free Company housing Maelstrom/Yellowjacket and general law enforcement types. Activities & Notifications: - Pirate Crew looking for more members! Contact Asunasari Volsani for more information. -Click Here- to check out the thread.

Disaster! SE just ruined your headcanon!
As'elena replied to Warren Castille's topic in RP Discussion
The Maelstrom not being the best Grand Company would break my heart In all seriousness though.. I reckon I would just go with the flow. SE is god in this universe and while I definitely cross speculation borders sometime (Kinda inevitable in FFXIV really), I never go outright against something that is black on white fact. -
balmung Returning RPer LF Connections
As'elena replied to Akane Sakai's topic in Chronicled Connections
Welcome back! I know the pain as a fellow EU person! Oyuu's Order of Ouroboros is a good place to check out if you are interested in meeting more EU people as well as play a Thaumaturge or some other type of magick practitioner! It's not necessarily bound to a Free Company so getting involved should be easy! You're also free to poke me directly as I tend to be online regularly and nearly always IC! -
I totally ship the NPC; Commodore Reyner with As'elena. Because why not!? He is a relatively young looking, dashing Midlander with a high position in Limsa Lominsa. As'elena definitely has a thing for him IC, but she'll never be noticed in the same light. At best the only time she would talk with him is when he gives her new orders or briefs her on a mission!

It was fun meeting you guys! I eventually became really tired though. Curse being EU sometimes! I forgot to make screenshots, so I'm glad someone made some high quality ones!

balmung Looking for EU timezone players/LS/FC
As'elena replied to Renaise's topic in Chronicled Connections
Welcome back! I know the pain all too well, being EU myself! So feel free to poke in game if you want! To add further potential suggestions, I'll drop a link to the website of the FC I am a part of, which is primarily centered around the EU hours! http://wwrp.enjin.com/home -
Welcome back to the game and hope to see you on Balmung! Feel free to give a prod if you got any questions after reading the things Nailah linked above!
-
Welcome! I've played WoW myself as well! I'm not entirely sure which Free Companies there are currently, much less operate in your timezone, but I can shamelessly direct you to the one I am part of. We have an adventuring theme to it as we are made up of adventurers and mercenaries. http://wwrp.enjin.com/

balmung LF members of the Maelstrom, Pirates etc.
As'elena replied to Soren Lier's topic in Chronicled Connections
As'elena is a Knight of the Barracuda and thus part of the Maelstrom. I'm always up to meet more people who know what the best GC of the game is
