Okay i'll bite, I think there could be something to be done with that wood wailer hook!

I push the button and suddenly the game offers awesome communication and social and network tools and you can speak with everyone at once, set up things easily, never feeling blind and oblivious to everything. You don't have to constantly hit people up and ask everytime the awkward "wanna RP?", etc etc.

Sometimes I just also wish they synced items in low level dungeons... Honestly with the power creep going on we already see teams where an overgeared DPS will always keep the aggro no matter what, against low level tanks.

Maybe i'm cruel but when I see that as a heal I like letting them die. I usually /upset at them the first time, then stop healing them altogether, while asking gently if they can let the tank pull. Sometimes you get answered "it's a low level dungeon, chill", which is the most infuriating thing ever. Low level or not, they are making your job unfun and super annoying for the sake of their little whims.

I endorse! And while I'm not applying, I'm super interested in RP with you guys.

Too all the MCHs that use point blank shot in dungeons, you are driving me crazy.

Would it be possible to get rid of the youtube automatic reformating in posts when you use the standard [ url ] tag (and not the specific [ youtube ] one) with every youtube url? It's a tad annoying since I have to go through not very handy and potentially unstable links like tinyurl to specifically hide the youtube adress...

I just appreciate a lot the very few players that actually use their support skills like MP and TP regen when it's needed or just between fights.

Mh yes Earth my bad... Not sure what made me write fire... duh. So we know that the 7th umbral calamity was actually Astral? Makes sense since Astral follows directly after on the calendar and elemental order, of course, but is there any mention of that somewhere? 1.0 maybe?

Okay, we know that the 6 first calamities were all related to one specific element of the wheel (Earth, Fire, etc). We know that the Allagan got wiped by Fire, and the Magi by Water, etc. What was Bahamut since all elements were spent? Was it pure Umbral instead of elemental? Just unaspected? ( I must say that i'm a big fan of Ethys Asher interpretation of the elemental wheel related to Umbral/Astral poles also so that you see where i'm coming from )

Since I started leveling a bit summoner, apparently i'm stumbling on the worst tanks possible... One in Toto-rak that was either totally drunk/wasted or... I don't know what he was. Ran into circles or in random directions, didn't wait for the team, lost track of him several times, him running back to us with huge packs of angry mobs after him... He was not a bot, he spoke on chat random garbage... Well, we kicked him, and orange carby had to do the job... One in Haukke, tank was new and apparently not very sure what to do, never used any aggro skills nor flash, we wipe a few times on random mobs, we were trying to reach them out and be helpful, but they never actually said a single line on the party chan, totally oblivious... Eventually kicked him, and orange carby got the job again...

Yes, 5th Era, which means directly before the Calamity prior to the current Eorzean city states (6th and 7th eras). That's also why most current city states live above ruins from those 5th era civilizations (Gridania/Amdapor, Limsa/Nym, Uld'ah/Mach through Belah'dia, the heirs of Mach).

I like the Fist of Ralgh idea. We need more lore/fluff oriented events... Maybe some kind of Calamity remembrance event? What kind of lore events can be found in each city state? Stuff pretty specific to them that they would celebrate or mourn? I would definitely go to lore events...

Ohh, I like that kind of modest everyday characters. GMT is perfect too! I think it could provide really nice hooks with my character as well, she is kind of a nerd when it comes to every high tech device and doodads. She is a natural with understanding how everything works but is such a walking catastrophe with her own hands that it tends to turn into spectacular results. Hit me up ingame!

As long as you got the basics I would say, I find FF to be pretty easy and lax with retcons since the lore is designed to be super malleable and often told by the word of NPC characters with ignorance and bias rather than pure canon.

The OP has already said they feel the need to hide or go into offline mode to avoid them. It's not crazy speculation. It's not okay for someone else to make you feel that way, misguided or no. It's not so much speculation over if it's okay to make someone feel that way or not, but speculation over the result of the discussion the OP and their friend should be having... I don't think anyone argued against the fact that it's not okay.

You should all just wait for the OP to have actually talked with their other half before going on crazy on speculation like that. Once you get proven that the other half is either 1) misguided/misunderstood or 2) a douche, the answer is pretty easy and clear cut and I think everyone will agree on it.

I think what that forum lacked was a true lore dedicated section and discussions, and the only thing I would love is a subforum where one can quickly go as a sort of huge database of citations and facts. No need for anything else. The rest, being discussions on lore stuff (speculation, headcannon, interpretations, etc) can go in the general section.

Every one of those cases is unique and it's often pretty hard in my opinion to give precise and accurate advice... The only constant here is the atrocious social tools of the game. The saddest thing is that RP is absolutely everywhere, probably around half of the server are actually RPers to various degrees (just have to look at most character names and FC tags really), but as a player, you are mostly blind and unable to know what happens around you. The only way to go is to create a strong network. Look for many connections. Have RP sessions with them, see if it works or not. If not, then rince and repeat, bump your own looking for connections post, bring something new, find new hooks to catch people attention... And that alone is not enough. You will have to prod regularly at all those contacts you kept and still want to RP with (and vice versa of course), and find plots and character development and stories to bring to the table. It's fuel for RP. If there is none, then you stall and everything stops, and you will have to restart the engine. All of this to say, it requires constant effort. I find that the majority of people are rather passive. So, you have to get active yourself and kick things up. And honestly, i'm saying that as someone that is usually super reluctant to go bother and annoy people because I find that super intrusive and insisting for the smallest thing. But then again, most people have always been very receptive and happy to see RP knocking on their door actually! I have yet to have negative experiences with that. Yes, sometimes you get a lot of "cant RP now" or just no answer. And then you think "they do'nt want to RP with me".... But... More often than not, it's just life randomness. Sometimes people are afk or looking at something else, or super busy RPing. Sometimes people are overbooked. Sometimes people just want to enjoy the game for a change. Mood plays a big factor. The tough thing though is if you don't have anything RP hook or idea to bring, I find it best not to engage anyone for RP unless you both are super creative for small talk or whatever... And even then it might get old pretty fast... At least in my experience... Since well, i'm not super old on that community yet... Be nice, force yourself to sound positive and creative and engaging. Show your willingness and your creativity in your OOC approach. Now that is said then, do you have a link to a wiki or anything regarding your mi'qote character that had trouble to find RP and got rejected out of curiosity? Can I take a look?

If you want to go strictly by what we see ingame, go take a look at the Coeurclaw raiders and the likes. They seem to use similar stuff than serpent sergeant kecks and jackets. If you want to go full your own clan personal flavour, yeah, probably the woad set.
