Maybe Big Claws have a less sophisticated type of natural glamour. They can't look like a different shaped creature, like imps, but they can glamour themselves to a different colour so they can hide amongst the ordinary megalocrabs. Some sort of special light, from sprites or fireflies, seems to be the go to glamour dispeller that lets you see the true appearance. Maybe Big Claws are sort of like a chameleon and the sprite cores dispel the colour glamour.

When you do the levequest it says glamour.

I remember a levequest where we had to hunt Big Claws glamoured to look like ordinary Megalocrabs. So it isn't just sylphs and imps that can glamour their appearance. Big Claws aren't even that intelligent are they? So glamour must be a natural ability rather than something they created.

The creature we're fighting drops a silver and blue chest and I joke that I've been playing too much POTD, because I looked at it and expected a weapon upgrade. Open the chest and in it is a sword ... that happens to be better than my current sword. Weapon upgrade.

I was just about ready to give up on tanking, because of negative reactions and the feeling that I just couldn't do it properly. I'd even been avoiding dungeon/guildhest roulette after I got bawled out at the end of the last one I did. I decided to just try dungeon roulette again; after all the worst thing that could happen was people quitting on me like they did in Cutter's Cry, but another screw up would have probably ensured that Ylva turned in her sword and shield. But the group was not only helpful, but when I screwed up by pointing the boss at them they didn't get mad, just said that everyone has to learn. Then the healer stayed at the end to give me some words of encouragement. Thank you!

Yes! And some existing areas will be swimmable in. And diving. I don't even mind that there won't be underwater combat. Although I am holding out hope that the new battle system will be shiny (and not so hard). Don't really care about new raid stuff. I don't like the current raid stuff. If they ever made it so you could do it without other players then I'd be all over that.

Finally tried my first raid and I think it might be my last if it's indicative of how they usually go. DX Was doing the first part of the Crystal Tower on my Bard and it was just horrible. Firstly, I lagged getting out of the loading screen and some helpful person kindly marked me as target to ignore 1 because of that. Which you can't remove from yourself. People did not wait at any of the bosses. I got locked out of about half of them, because I'm not the fastest mover. I ended up following the wrong group, because I didn't know who was who or what we were doing. I was just shooting whatever came near me. Then people started bickering over alliance chat and complaining about other groups. I didn't really care anymore, because I had died and had to respawn at the beginning and was now lost. So I got locked out of the final boss and I finally managed to find the exit after everyone else had already gone. Ugh, I'm being whiny tonight. My tank just got yelled at again and I'm feeling gloomy. I think I'm going to have to give up tanking. /end vent

Yeah, sadly that and the Wood Wailers' outfits seem to be only for NPCs.

Hyur parents would make more sense, as the Highlander Hyur tend to hang around the same areas of Thanalan and it's easy to imagine say someone from Little Ala Mhigo picking up an orphaned kitten. Although, if it's just the tribal lifestyle you don't like then you could always try a Keeper of the Moon Miqo'te.

When you think at the beginning of a dungeon. Hey, I should remember to eat stuff so I get food bonuses. I grabbed the first food I saw in my inventory and spent the whole of The Wanderer's Palace with +6% perception and +2% GP ...

At least dyeing is available at level 15. I make a beeline for that quest as soon as I've unlocked air travel. The NPC is at Vesper Bay in Western Thanalan. It sucks that glamour isn't available until level 50, but not all the leveling gear is hideous. The one I've found it hardest to dress nicely in what the leveling stuff gives you is my tank. She always looks mismatched or meh.

I don't pick for myself. My chars pick. I really am not fond of tanking, but one of my chars refused to do anything but Gladiator, so Gladiator we did. They always know what class/job suits them. Some chars have shown interest in more than one class. I have a White Mage/Archer and an Arcanist/Rogue. But if I try and stick them in something that I want to do rather than they want to do, then it will not end up well. I tried to force a char to do Thaumaturge once. I ended up having to remake her with a better class, because she would not accept it.

When you think you're doing everything right and waiting for the tank to pull aggro, then as soon as you shoot something everyone runs over to eat you. I swear I am not as succulent as I look. DX

I just want you to know that it's your fault that was so hard just now, tank. Well I'm not very experienced tanking; do you have any advice? Why you gotta need it. -.- So mean. :[ I'm fully ready to believe that I did something wrong in the final battle, I am not the best tank, but ffs not all of us are born knowing exactly what to do and how are we going to learn if you don't tell us what we did wrong? Ironically, I got a player commendation, so somebody must have felt sorry for me.
