Welcome aboard Allyssae I wouldn't worry about an unoriginal title (happens to us all) or the time zone. There's a good spread of people in the community so you should be able to find people to play with if you stick around.

Welcome! Going to echo the others here....everything I've heard points to at least one more weekend of beta for this phase than then 1-2 more weeks of bug fixing with no tests going on. After that it's on to phase 4 and, if all goes well, no character wipes and then launch!

Welcome to the RPC! I've got to say, nice to see another character coming from a not-so-nice background as well. 8-) My character spent a good part of his childhood until now, raised working for/in the Platinum Mirage.

Quickly approaching 30 here (about a month and a half to go!). I started writing in high school with friends and in college got into actual d&d tabletop AND MMO RP through some friends. I haven't looked back sense. 8-) I've been alternately a DM and player since then and have been writing stories for my characters since I got started with it back in CoH (I'm even currently running a superhero game for some RL friends this summer on the weekends). I'm told I'm not too bad at it, but definitely looking forward to seeing what sorts of crazy stories I can help put together with this group.

To try and answer a few questions you noted: - Right now, most of us are playing on Gilgamesh in the beta though most of those here are looking at Balmung as the RP server during phase 4 (open beta) and launch. - If I understand it right, guilds in other games are the Free Companies here in FFXIV, though you can join multiple RP linkshells.

Welcome welcome! I don't think it's been mentioned yet, but if you prefer getting some one on one help, there's also a mentor thread set up where us newbies can get help from others who have been around and are more familiar with the setting.

Ha! That was pretty helpful as I was definitely mispronouncing more than a few words/names myself. LOL.

I personally think it would be great to have something like this for FF. I used a similar site for TERA and a couple sites like this in GW2 to try and put together a look that I thought fit my character. I'm not a 1.0 player, but if I can help with getting this going, please let me know.

There may be money involved, but I suggest if you play any of us, play Razamir, or Rhynka. Diakhan has a thing about throwing them for keeps instead of the sport aspect! Zarek would be game for learning but afterwards would be just fine with playing a bit more 'seriously'. It's not a gamble (or worth winning the bet) if there's not some risk involved!

Welcome! Just going to echo the others and say it's always good to see another RPer that's in favor of consequences actually applying as a part of their roleplay. Sounds like you've got a ton of experience (and MMOs! ) under your belt so looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
