  1. I mentioned Ifrit/Titan/Garuda as being weaker but it's only because they were summoned normally in the MSQ, which is where level-locked job quest Egis come from. If your character was ICly involved in a Hard or Extreme fight against them, there's no reason you couldn't use Inferno/Molten/Vortex Trance or something... At least in theory.
  2. ...Meaning there should be no difficulty in getting it all done at once, yay. Also, while I'm sure it'll still be silly, I'd actually like it if the Ishgardian characters are still fairly serious. People seem willing to dismiss details from Hildy as canon to FFXIV due to it being a silly sidestory.
  3. My character is probably not a good fit for this but it's such a cute idea! Good luck!
  4. Scattered thoughts cuz I'm at work and can't go looking for sources: I liked the Goobue being brought up again but to anyone who didn't see the 1.0 scene, it just sounds silly. Goobs are like hippos: People might find them silly and cute but they're still huge, strong wild animals with big jaws. A black and white still image of a Goobue smashing a dude would have helped keep the tone serious. I'm a bit disappointed that we got forced to fight for Ishgard instead of getting to pick our GC but getting to fight Raubahn was fun. Also a bit disappointed the fight would be the same even for players not in IF, but maybe there will be a chance to duel Admiral/Senna later. This patch was too full of deathblows failing to kill anyone. Minfilia (haha my phone autocorrected to Mongolia) may be "gone to us" but I'm sure she is neither dead nor gone. The maid surviving at least served a bit of a narrative purpose for the next scene (and I hope we'll see her again once the fighting gets underway) but white dragon friend surviving as well just seemed too convenient. UpsidedownTower was fun but kinda pointless. Amdapor City HM on the other hand was cool. I think people were talking about the animated WHM/BLM mobs but don't forget a third mob comes with them: The "Monk" (probably in the European monastic sense). My personal guess is that they're void guys and responsible for keeping the mages' souls functional. Also, possible source of soul gems for aspiring BLM/WHM RPers? Haven't done Alex or Hildy yet, but it's Friday night!
  5. To bounce off of Sounsyy's post, it's not that Ramuh and Leviathan are intrinsically more powerful. It's that when you fight them in the MSQ, they've been summoned to be more powerful (Level 50, as opposed to levels 20/35/45 for Ifrit/Titan/Garuda) through the use of both more crystals (for Hard) and implied beastman sacrifices (for Extreme). In the case of players summoning Egi of these Primals, it would be because they were present for a weaker summoning of them in the past; we know Leviathan was summoned at least once (I think it might've been twice?) between the time of the Calamity and the start of the 2.0 MSQ. We haven't heard about when Ramuh was summoned before the MSQ fight, but there's enough knowledge of him and there are enough of his Touched flying around that there's a good chance the same could be the case.
  6. aaaaaa I've been working late every day and forgot about the Mew giveaway aaaaaaa I don't play Pokemon super well... Or much at all. But it would've still been nice!
  7. I got my intro to tabletop through a 3.5 campaign during college, we met every Sunday on IRC for about two years. I've also played Maid RPG (my first yandere character came from Maid) and, thanks to Verad, Fate-14.
  8. I don't see them sourced on the OP but "Fiend" is Sephirot phase 2 and "Starved" is the new PvP Feast that hasn't even come out yet.
  9. I don't have a 60 tank class yet but I'm close. As soon as I finish PLD, I'll hang out in Ul'dah in Flames uniform to ICly guide newbies.
  10. While I could go for the low-hanging fruit and give Jana the same voice as Kuroki Tomoko (from Watamote, done by Kitta Izumi), Jana has that kind of crazy manic side of hers. I went instead with the voice of Hoshi Syoko done by Matsuda Satsumi. (I don't think the RPC can embed videos to start at a time so feel free to jump to 4:12.)
  11. Jana sat on a wooden crate in the middle of the Quicksand's upper hallway, some of her belongings being moved from her usual inn room to a room in a new home. But her status of "technically homeless" being changed felt less heavy in her mind than the years-old status of "Echo-afflicted." And to her, it was nothing but an affliction. Running her thumb over the small green gem that identified her as a Summoner, the Keeper thought to herself. Surely the only reason she'd been able to output so much power during the ritual led by the Hearer was that is was convenient for the Mother Crystal to do so? Had it been necessary, and it very nearly had been, the Crystal would have wrung all the power out of her to stop the crazed Elementals. No, it wasn't her who'd been chosen, but the Padjal the Hearer was so concerned about... That was probably it. She had never considered herself one of the "sacred chosen" that adventuring groups liked to espouse, she just got flashbacks at inconvenient times and had some protection against Primal mindwashing. Putting the small gem into a pocket on the inside of her leather jacket and buttoning it back up, she stood to continue moving boxes, moving her thoughts into the back of her head as well.
  12. I'll sign Jana up for "Sacrifices Unto Devils" please~
  13. Jana would probably flip out and try to murder the room, except really badly because she's trying to cover herself up t the same time and unintentionally exposing herself more and more with every movement.
  14. While I could go find videos of Jana's individual unarmed/armed/magic fighting styles, when she puts it all together, it would come out looking like a Stand user: Her own punches and kicks, blows from her Egi, and the basic ACN spells used as projectiles.
  15. I'm also someone who RPs as a summoner (and participated in a few of the Sacramentum RP events). While I don't take much issue with the desire to gain Dreadwyrm Trance IC, I see Phoenix and Bahamut Prime as one-time battles that are over and done with and cannot happen again, unlike the most of the other primals. Knowledge that those battles even took place has been suppressed by the GCs post-T13.
  16. I've played a character with the Echo since 2.0, so I actually do have it in her backstory that Thancred a member of the Scions approached her in Ul'dah. However, a combination of greed for paying jobs and a desire to keep her independence as an adventurer and being flirted with made her turn it down.
  17. My new debit card finally arrived yesterday, so please sign Jana up for a spot~
  18. On the rare chance I play PLD I like to do it to rub it into my healer's face that I've leveled WHM. I'm watching you, healer. Watching you.
  19. Oh damn, I was totally gonna use that.
  20. Quick correction: Au Ra are neither descended from dragons nor voidsent; they're their own thing. In lore it's said there's "scholarly debate" over the former but evidence is heavily against it, while the latter is entirely a player invention without any in-game mention, I believe.
  21. Ooh, I gotta try that one! Sounds like fun! Dealing with the loss of a loved one by attempting genocide generally isn't approved of by psychiatric professionals.
  22. Stupid cat fails the grieving process.
