what I'm seen is all the skills that make CNJ good are stuff you get after you can take on WHM(or 2 level before in the case of raise). which means, after you get jobs sure, CNJ(aka WHM) is the ideal healer. but for the first 28-30 levels ARC wins hands down. they essentially add a fifth to the party(carbuncle) who can tank with ease. they can add Dot damage, and they can keep the party all healed up and never run out of MP thanks to Aether flow. alright, so you lose AoE healing, but I havenever found a fight (up through level 22) that couldn't be solved easily with single target healing. Edit: Also, at level (35?) when ACN can become SCH they will get healing spells (both single target and AoE) that not only heal but negate damage equal to the amount healed.(so kind of double heal, sort of)

but they don't get cure 2 until level 30, at which point they can be WHM...

so, I noticed something doing a few runs with my ACN on Hades tonight. ACN makes a bamf healer! You get Carbuncle to do your damage/ defend you, then you have access to all the cool healing spells of CNJ(with the exception of medica), plus you get aether flow to regen MP. Why would anyone party with a CNJ as healer after learning this? Also, after level 22 ACN gets a raise spell that can be used while fighting, but CNJs raise means you have to wait for everything to stop killing your party before you can bring anyone back. seriously? can anyone tell me why CNJ should be played for anything more than acess to the level 12 skills and jobs? Edit: Should note, I beat Halatali with a PUG and GLD(both lvl 23) and myself useing the above ACN method (lvl 21). We lost our CNJ about half way through, turns out we didn't need them.

my list of jobs that don't make sense... Monk- (PUG&LNC) Why LNC? what is wrong with classic FF healing punchies? Should be(PUG(& CNJ) BLM(THM&ARC) really? what good is archery to a BLM? At least with PUG the weapon needed was always at hand. (literally) WHM( CNJ&ACN) wait, why is ACN fine for WHM and not BLM? ACN has more DoTs than it does heals. seems more BLM material for that.

well, not being able to log on to anything is about as bad as it could possibly get, so yea, I guess you could say I am at rock bottom. is the new server fix/upgrade in place yet? I really want to get to play rogier.

and to add to the fun, I am now getting "unable to update Na/Eu list, so I try my JP server, and what do I get? 1017 I think this game hates me...

Yoshi P. is awesome, and if they ever figure out how to channel his love for the game into their tech support they will never again face the sort of anger that has been so prevalent during P4 and EA. I think that if they had shown his level of commitment to making this game awesome in their response to the NA/EU problems early on we wouldn't have so many people upset. I have never been upset with yoshi, and every time I see something from him it makes me want to play this game even more. I think it helps knowing that he is a gamer himself, and wants to enjoy this game as much as the rest of us. sqeenix biggest hurdle is going to be their response teams, and once they learn/train everyone to have a timely response to player/server problems this game will soar. TL;DR Yoshi P is awesome and we need more game designers like him.

for the first three dungeons you can do them with a party of all DPS with one being an arcanist, and easily make it through without wipeing. My roommate and I have taken to just walking up to a dungeon, invite everyone around us, take the first two that click accept and run the dungeon. You really never even need to talk to your party for the first three. also, just some speculation here, But I think running those dungeons with 4 arcanist would make them so easy it would never even feel like a dungeon. every player has heals(and if you grab protect and raise from CNJ even more heals) and golden carby is a tanking machine.so that makes 4 tanks, 4 healers and all 8 are awesome damage dealers.

You could say that your character has taken up "boxing" in an effort to overcome her weakness. now, that could end in never getting above the required level 15, and thus remaining still "weak" in the eyes of the melee masters. After all, learning the forms and tecnique does not mean she is strong enough to use them with any real level of power.

for me getting in is the entire battle. one that I have lost every time... I think I need a new general.

Hahaha, I personally entertained the thought that maybe they were doing this so that NA and EU players would jump ship to JP servers and mesh there so that they wouldn't have to buy new servers. If that was a goal in mind, they apparently didn't succeed very well at it. I know my old LS and a few others were staying on the Masamune server even though that is a now a JP server. You can get around decently well with auto translate and the fact that the Japanese have to take an English class in school. Not to mention you had duty finder which can pair you up with English players as well. Personally this is a definitely a possible route to take. If this was a game that I was not interested in RPing in and just playing, I would have taken the JP route long ago. haha, they have to get new servers because so many jumped ship to a jp server. The jp servers are now getting 1017 errors. They literally ran out of server space on the first day of launch.

you do get a discount for paying for 180days up front, but the discount is that you get the 8characters per server/40max for the price of the 1character per server sub. You can see the priceing on the promo sight under product

don't forget, aprox. 24 hours after the JP servers got slammed by all the displaced NA/EU players they announce upgrades to the JP data center to support the load. what does that say about how little they care about the NA/EU people?

made my main in bal, did some playing durring p4, got 90K Oed , waited for EA and fixes, got 1017ed, now living in Hades with other NA/EU players. if you hop on Hades feel free to give me wave. Hopefully I will be able to get back on bal at some point.

wouldn't mind this, if I had been able to play more than a couple hours this morning before all the errors started. since then I haven't been able to log in to any of my characters. nothing but no servers and 1017.

Soooo, everone should invade JP server HADES move the entire world onto as few JP servers as possible, fun while we wait.
