Furthermore, materia bonuses will be ignored during PvP encounters, regardless of the item level of gear affixed with materia. * Players who abandon a Frontline campaign (not including players who join a match in progress or are vote kicked) will receive a penalty. Players so penalized will be unable to register for Frontline campaigns or the Wolves' Den for 30 minutes. * When participating in a Frontline campaign, players can receive but not send messages via free company and linkshell chat. - Participating in Seal Rock (Seize) Players can queue to enter alone, or in a party of up to eight players. Although there are no role restrictions when queuing as a party, all party members must be affiliated with the same Grand Company. To improve matching efficiency, 72 (three teams of 24) or 24 (three teams of eight) combatants may be matched together depending on the number of available participants. - Role Requirements When participating in Frontline campaigns, there are no role requirements or restrictions for parties. Moreover, players can freely change jobs or classes at their Grand Company's landing. * As with the three main cities, the recast time of skills will not be reset when changing classes or jobs. - Actions The effects of certain non-PvP player actions have been restricted in Frontline campaigns. - Starting Points The landing point for each team will be randomly assigned from one of three locations. - Rules of Engagement During a Frontline seize campaign, players aid their company by retrieving data from Allagan tomeliths and defeating players from opposing teams. The first team to accumulate the required amount of data will be declared the winner, and the remaining teams will be ranked according to their respective ratings. - Allagan Tomeliths Seal Rock island is home to ancient relics known as Allagan tomeliths, structures containing data coveted by the three Grand Companies. Players must locate and occupy tomeliths to activate them and extract their data. - Active and Inactive Allagan Tomeliths All Allagan tomeliths are inactive at the start of the campaign, and will activate randomly at set intervals. Each tomelith has a limited quantity of data that can be retrieved, and will become inactive once that limit is reached. Inactive Allagan tomeliths will activate at random after a set amount of time has passed. As the campaign progresses, the maximum number of simultaneously active Allagan tomeliths will change. - Occupying Allagan Tomeliths Active Allagan tomeliths will be either “Unoccupied” or “Occupied” depending on whether or not a Grand Company has occupied them. If a player occupies an unoccupied tomelith, its status will change from Unoccupied to Occupied. If the tomelith is already occupied by an opposing faction, accessing the tomelith will change its status to Unoccupied. Tomeliths are Unoccupied when they change from inactive to active. * Allagan tomeliths will become temporarily inaccessible when their status changes. - Allagan Tomelith Ranks Allagan tomeliths will activate at one of three ranks: S, A, or B. Although tomeliths have a lower chance to activate at higher ranks, they hold a larger quantity of data that can be retrieved while they are occupied. As the match progresses, tomeliths will have an increased chance to activate at higher ranks. Rank B Rank A Rank S - Engaging Opposing Teams By defeating players from opposing teams, players can retrieve data while at the same time decreasing the amount of data the opposing team holds. - Adrenaline Rush Adrenaline rush will replace the limit break action during Seal Rock (Seize) campaigns. Unlike the limit break, adrenaline rush is unaffected by the actions of party members, and can be used by single players after filling the adrenaline gauge. It can then be activated using Limit Break located under the General tab of the Actions & Traits interface. The adrenaline rush action performed will depend on your role. Action Role Effect Aegis Boon Tank Temporarily reduces damage taken by all party members by 50%. Raw Destruction Melee DPS Delivers an attack to a single target. However, changing classes, logging out, or being defeated yourself will reset the counter towards acquiring either buff. Players who defeat another player under the effect of battle high or battle fever will be rewarded additional data. Status Requirement Effect Battle High Defeat four players consecutively. Damage dealt increases by 20%, and the adrenaline gauge fills 1.5 times faster. Battle Fever Defeat eight players consecutively. Damage dealt increases by 40%, and the adrenaline gauge fills two times faster. The following will display on screen when either battle high or battle fever are active: The following icon will appear next to the name of players under the effect of battle high or battle fever: - Player Icons Furthermore, all players engaged in combat, including those experiencing battle high or battle fever will appear on the map and minimap when nearby. - Retaliation Incapacitated players will be returned to their Grand Company's landing, where they will be allowed to rejoin combat after a short delay. This will not incur a weakness penalty, but the delay before you can rejoin the battle will lengthen each time you fall. Furthermore, players will be temporarily invulnerable when leaving their Grand Company's landing during Seal Rock (Seize). - Mounts Players are free to use mounts during Frontline campaigns. However, players taking damage while mounted will be inflicted with the Heavy status effect. * However, flying mounts cannot be used to fly during Frontline campaigns, and two-person mounts cannot be ridden. - Rewards All players will receive PvP EXP and Wolf Marks, as well as Allagan tomestones of law and Allagan tomestones of esoterics based on their performance. Kellach Woods Posted July 21, 2015 Share #2 Posted July 21, 2015 Hey guys we got rumblings that MCH/BRD aren't up to snuff. Let's buff BLM then. EDIT : OH SHIT CHURNING FATES ABOUT TO BECOME THE NEW NORTHERN THANALAN. 145k FOR THE SUPER FATE OMG COME TO PAPA. Link to comment
Spethah Posted July 21, 2015 Share #3 Posted July 21, 2015 1. Shorten the post with the spoiler thing because WOW it took me way too long to scroll down on my tablet. 2. "Hey we heard people are complaining that AST is really lame because of how inefficient the job is compared to WHM and SCH so we're going to change Lightspeed to make it a reduce MP cost thing at 150s cooldown instead of actually fixing the problem. Also the Royal Road swap? The fuck. Now you're going to confuse all the AST players. Esoteric gear (AF 3.0?) is upgradable via Savage Alex and is dyable when upgraded. Awesome. Was also expecting the FATE modification this patch but oh well. By the time they add it, my second job to 60 would be a thing already and I doubt I'm leveling more jobs. Link to comment

It's there - 50% more XP in HW areas per FATE clear, and reducing difficulty if last time the FATE was up it failed, as well as level sync requirements going up 1 in HW areas. Link to comment

-no longer matters- Posted July 21, 2015 Share #7 Posted July 21, 2015 Siiigh..... allowing Battle Effects filters to turn off Darkside's graphic effect is nowhere among the resolved or known issues... really, SE? -.- I'm playing DRK and damn hate having that effect on, nevermind seeing it on others >_< Yeah i try to be conscience about it and turn it off when not questing. So it's not an eyesore for everyone else while I'm standing in town. (Note sometimes I fail this when zipping around to turn in quests but I try.) At least our Darkside MP bug got fixed! Yay! Honestly I switched back to my Warrior for a half a day then right back to my Dark Knight, I really enjoy the class, and think most of the complaints about it are hyperbole. EDIT: Looks like the world 2nd group clearing Alexander Savage A1 used War/DRK as the tanks so we're not as broken as people think. I also want that sword in the picture! It is smexy! Link to comment

Dravus Posted July 21, 2015 Share #11 Posted July 21, 2015 I'll bet two weeks on the new PvP Mode before it becomes 'unpopular' again. Mm. I'm hoping that we'll see a major revamp at some point in the future that makes PvP more appealing and more importantly more balanced. Otherwise people are just going to get tired of it once the novelty wears off. Link to comment

mongi291 Posted July 21, 2015 Share #13 Posted July 21, 2015 So, the weapons in all the previews are actually tomestones gear and not relics. I can see almost all those weapons as tomestones gear, as they're not traditional FF weapons. But the Deathbringer, the most iconic DRK weapon, is not a relic? Aw. Link to comment

So when the new AF2 was revealed and didn't show up in the Job Questlines... kinda had to figure it would be locked behind Esoterics. Link to comment
