What Are You Listening To?

Recommended Posts

Currently listening to the newest Culprate LP on repeat. Its such a great journey from start to finish, ever changing but still staying true to its sound color. What i love the most about it is how every track differs from the one before, both in tempo and mood (heck, even single songs changes multiple times) - but eventhough its so ever changing it still keeps that "vibe" from beginning to end and just blends together perfectly.

It starts out with an ambient vocal track and then quickly dives into the dephths of experimental electronic, mabye even avantgarde music. It goes from smooth and soft to still smooth but impulsive. It blends in orchestral elements aswell as guitar riffs. Oh, and it futures a Kalimba. That should be reason enough! :D

Anyway, enough chit-chat from an audio-obsessed musician, feel free to listen for yourself! (I guess that long text shows how much i admire this LP, propably one of my all time favourits when it comes to electronic LPs. And now ill really shut up and let you listen. Have a nice journey! :D )

EDIT: If i had to name two track favourits for the album id propably say In The End and Yin.

I have no links for what I found today, but rummaging through some stuff from years ago I found a few CD's I used to enjoy a lot. I figured I'd list them here in case anyone's curious:

Children of Bodom - Hate Crew Deathroll & Blooddrunk

Best of Led Zeppelin

Dragonforce-Inhuman Rampage (Don't hurt me I love the bass)

Arch Enemy - Rise of the Tyrant

Metallica - Black Album, Ride the Lightning & And Justice for All

Needless to say I'm a very happy Mhaya.

I don't know if this counts, but I recently started using audible.

Just finished Jim Blutcher's New book. It's really good.

Listening to "The Name of the Wind" now, which I've read, but translates well to audio.

Just got around to picking up The Cinder Spires. Still at the beginning. How'd you end up liking it?

As for Rothfuss, ARGH THIRD BOOK ALREADY FFS.

Would recommend The Gentleman Bastard series by Scott Lynch if you haven't already picked that one up once you're done with Rothfuss; it's pretty rad~

...but you must listen to all of it, really.

Trying to wrap my head around Miqo'te lore lately, I find that this soundtrack portrays the best my headcanon of what isolated Miqo'te clans can do in terms of music. Lots of drums, flute and some vocals.

It's just really nice to chill to. Listen to it.
