Kellach Woods Posted September 30, 2014 Share #51 Posted September 30, 2014 I don't think I gave Kell any specific biases, though he's started noticing that Miqo males are... bizarre. Since he can't tell the difference between the clans, he just assumes that all of them are weird (granted he's not encountered the most common of Miqo males). He's also too much of a pussy (pun intended) to do anything about it. He's not really interacted much with Roes or Lalafells. I guess the most unfair bias he has would be that he thinks everything is an Eorzean custom regardless of how silly it sounds, like that time he took a sarcastic "you can sit on my lap hue hue hue" by someone in the Quicksand and he just went and did it anyway, thinking that maybe Eorzeans were more welcome to stacking each other on chairs. Maril Posted September 30, 2014 Share #52 Posted September 30, 2014 Sastra has a disliking for most Lalafell. It stems from the majority of the ones she has met being bratty, hyperactive and annoying little naive #¤¤%%¤. One of them went out of her way to stalk Sastra to apologize in her own special way because she had upset Sastra and then concluded she had to become happy again, when a simple apology did not do the trick, she asked about for advice on how to ungrumpy people. And someone suggested that people in love never seem to be grumpy. So she went out to find the nearest "Tall person" and basically went "Hi person, this is Sastra, do you want to be her boyfriend?" That lalafell in particular was nicknamed Tiny Terror. Though there are lalafells in the Kindred that Sastra likes and approves of, curiously they are also the ones that appear to act more mature So I think the TL;DR of this is: Sastra does not like annoying lalafells. Dat Oni Posted September 30, 2014 Share #53 Posted September 30, 2014 Anyone in law enforcement. Seriously though, Fohcswys has a bit of a bias against any Lalafell that isn't a mage of some description. Specifically that. Archers are a bit hit or miss. And it's not a end all seething loathing it's more of a 'I'd really rather not' sort of reaction. There's no logical reason for it. It's entirely born of the irrational idea that a lalafell with a sword/lance/axe/'fists' is the perfect height to swing at kneecaps. Koporo named his sword Shinbreaker. He won a Grindstone tournament by breaking the last person's leg. He dealt with an unruly fellow at the Quicksand by striking his knees and dragging him across the floor and out of the building. That fear of hers is entirely well-founded. Link to comment
Knight Kat Posted September 30, 2014 Share #54 Posted September 30, 2014 Kiht use to have sooooo many biases that she would call people she just met by race and gander. People who have known Kiht the longest can remember that. However, her bias have changed, and she has become progressive for the most part (progressive compared to the ball of racism she use to be). She is wary of Midland Hyur males at first because of the fact that almost every one she has met is or has been DYSFUNCTIONAL. She loves Midland Hyur females though The few Highlanders she has met have been good people, and she has sympathy for their plight as refugees. She has not talked to enough Roegadyns to get a solid impression of them. Elezen are an example of a race she now has an opposite perception of. She use to dislike all Elezen, but a mentor and her time with the Ishgard Exiles turned her around. She has only met a couple Elezen who proved to be untrustworthy. She has only interacted with a few Lalafell, so not really much of an impression to be had there. When it comes to fellow Miqo'te, she will be very friendly at first. Keeper or Seeker; it does not matter. She is always open-minded when meeting a fellow Miqo'te. However, she has had the absolute worst encounters with Miqo'te who are more "urbanized". It is not the lack of tradition that bothers her, it is the fact that they all seem to condemn her for being traditional, and they all have turned to lives where they seem to be victimized or criminals. Kiht could write a book about the fellow Miqo'te who have left a sour taste in her mouth. However, she is -still- very friendly when she meets a fellow Miqo'te at first; unless they do something she considers suspicious. Kiht has major bias towards Ixal for many reasons, but really, who doesn't? Link to comment
Dravus Posted September 30, 2014 Share #55 Posted September 30, 2014 J'rakh doesn't really like city folk. He finds them selfish, strange and arrogant. They also often treat him with disdain since whilst he's made an effort to integrate whilst passing through populated settlements and cities his tribal ways make him stand out quite a bit. He also has a strong loathing for those of his kind that have abandoned tribal life entirely, especially if they in turn look down upon their own culture. Link to comment
Delilah Scythewood Posted September 30, 2014 Share #56 Posted September 30, 2014 Lili hates Garleans pretty violently though it's never had an opportunity to expose itself. Her ex husband was taken and presumably murdered by them (a body was never found), so she lives with that widows' notion of 'All of them must pay!'. Luckily her kind disposition keeps this in check unless she were to be provoked. Lili has grown a great fondness for Miqo'te over the years. The first time she 'branched out into the world' a few years after the death of her husband was with a miqo'te male escort, and despite her lingering sadness he managed to help make the experience positive. It left an impact on her that is more subconscious then anything, and it makes her more soft towards Miqo'te in general. Unless they're blatantly an asshat of course. Link to comment

Dravus Posted October 1, 2014 Share #58 Posted October 1, 2014 There's also alcohol. J'rakh doesn't drink it since it dulls the senses and drives many to addiction, something he views as a sign of weakness. Link to comment
Chlodomer Posted October 1, 2014 Share #59 Posted October 1, 2014 Bartolomeo's past and teachings have made him grow wary yet also tolerant towards a lot of the diverse races present in Eorzea, however some inner bias still exists inevitably. Miqo'tes -Depending on their culture, keeper, seeker, tribal, urban, etc. Bartolomeo doesn't exactly mind the race entirely, however due to the hostilities between tribals in his former realm, Bartolomeo has been extremely wary towards the more "feral" miqo'tes. In general though, he seems to hold more respect towards Keepers than he does with Seekers. Hyur - Well, it's his own race so he doesn't really hold any racial bias against them and he treats the highlanders equally in terms of respect. Lalafell - He doesn't despise lalafells, but through experience hes grown dubious in regards to what they may say. Roegadyns - He has no distaste for Roegadyns, as his nation had strong ties with Sea Wolf mercenary gangs. Elezens - Elezens to him are an exotic species, although he tries his best to restrain his emotions on the matter. The looks and figure may charm him but what lies in the heart may entirely change that perspective for him. Link to comment

Jazz Egi Posted October 1, 2014 Share #64 Posted October 1, 2014 Tallera has a severe antipathy for elezen due to her history in Coerthas. She also has an extremely niche hatred for people who fit a very specific military brass archtype. The sort of people who see grunt soldiers as statistics and act tough from their cushy backline position. Link to comment
cuideag Posted October 2, 2014 Share #65 Posted October 2, 2014 Jajara was raised exclusively amongst lalafell and somewhat racist lalafell at that. She has a deep-set distrust for miqo'te, particularly Seekers, and tends to assume that they are generally less morally conscious than others. It often colors her first impression of miqo'te (males in particular) and lends itself to some unfair judgement on her part. To be fair, she might unconsciously look down on other races in general, but the miqo'te get the worst of it. Delial for the most part cares little for race and more for homeland. Ala Mhigans, especially those she deems 'true' Ala Mhigans, are the ones she relates to the most and so she acts most favorably towards them upon first meeting. Midlanders... not so much, as she thinks of them slightly akin to rats who have spread themselves far, far too wide. In general she cares little for Eorzeans in general, having seen how quickly they turn on good (BETTER, in some cases) people just because said person may have ties to Garlemald, however insignificant said ties may be. But the opinions of others do not concern her. Link to comment
Sophia_Grave Posted October 2, 2014 Share #66 Posted October 2, 2014 Sophia: Garlemald > Everything, but she does see value in other races/cultures. Bex: The only bias she holds is against the ignorant and/or stupid, and its not even a hatred; its more that she just doesn't have patience for much of anything or anyone unless she is learning something. Lorelei: She's still learning, but she feels more at ease with her fellow highlanders, especially those who are of the more traditional, Ala Mhigan vein. She has a deep seated hatred for Garleans, but she's too much of a carebear to let that actually affect anything. Link to comment
DoomsdayClock Posted October 2, 2014 Share #67 Posted October 2, 2014 Iron has a legit issue with telling Lalafel apart. Beyond that, other Roe make him nervous, so he usually keeps away from their company. There are exceptions tho. Link to comment
Liliana Nazareth Posted October 3, 2014 Share #68 Posted October 3, 2014 Like a lot of characters, Lily haaaaaaaaaaaates Garleans. Even after finding out certain things about herself. Garleans have taken away a lot of things from her and she thinks that once you're a part of the Empire, that never truly goes away. Liliana tends to think they're all double- or sleeper agents. Of course, this is if she ever finds out some of the people she cares for as friends are Garleans/Garlean sympathizers. 8D Another thing she...well, doesn't hate, but is more than mildly afraid of, are Roes. Even though she's worked with them for five years, their sheer size overwhelms the Midlander and she finds herself cowering in their presence. Doesn't help that one gave her a bear hug one time and almost snapped her in half. Also, she now holds incredible disgust for moogles. Though, that is actually stemming from a personal problem I've had with Thornmarch EX... >.> Link to comment

Blue Posted October 3, 2014 Share #72 Posted October 3, 2014 Jet'a Vann / Clive Stark / Kujh'a Lihzeh Three of my characters have a very poor view of Seekers of the Sun women. The Seeker's society structure (all females mating with the same male in the tribe), puts to the eyes of my characters male Seekers of the Sun as men with no personal attachment for a partner, and female Seekers as something close to whores. That, combined with the fact that all of them were hit on / or saw others get hit on by females of the Seeker clan, has resulted in my characters beginning to use "Son of a Seeker" as an insult. Dylise Rontremont Instead, Dylise, as a Duskwight woman, has the stereotypical grudge against the Green. While there are NPCs who still express discrimination towards the Grey (some in front of the Lancer's guild comes to mind), I was rather sad to see no one of the Elezen RPers I've interacted with seems to keep this bit of the lore into account. Don't be so nice to Dylise, you Wildwoods! Kujh'a Lihzeh Kujh has an angst/terror for females of the Keeper clan that is borderline psychotic. Grown in a society that taught him of how females are superior to him, and having broke the boundaries with that society and become a fighter himself (his Keeper family is very strict and did not allow males to be raised as combatants), he has set his own goal to prove that he can be a better hunter than any Keeper woman out there. He refuses to admit to be unable to do anything a female Keeper could do (including birthgiving!?), and in trying to prove so he has already gotten a lot into trouble, as Kiht Jakkya well knows. At the same time, while he feels competitive with these women, he is also terrified of them, feeling they are psychopaths that will cut his throat at any given time for daring step on their society role's holy ground. Bexy Posted October 3, 2014 Share #74 Posted October 3, 2014 So she went out to find the nearest "Tall person" and basically went "Hi person, this is Sastra, do you want to be her boyfriend?" AHAHAA. TALL PERSON. YES. *Stares* But in regards to my own reply, this got me thinking. And.. Huh. Interesting and surprising consequences. Bexy holds a few of these, in both good and bad ways. She's wary, borderline terrified of any male Highlander she doesn't know well. She'll do anything to keep out of their way that isn't blindingly obvious, mostly keeping her distance at the other end of the room or taking the furthest seat away. Reason being she had a fairly negative experience with one when she was younger, and it stuck. She's also a little prejudiced against Seeker males, if only not being fond of the womanising tendencies many are known for having. She'll still be polite and the like to them, but she's more likely to keep her distance until she knows them better. Exceptions to every rule and all that. In regards to... Favouring others for the better... Elezen. Specifically Elezen men. She grew up around them, was taught archery through them, taught to read, write, and even her mannerisms of speech developed though them. One of her biggest things she looks for in others is for them to be well spoken and polite, and she finds many elezen share this trait. She's... Overly fond of them, and this even gets to be to a point of teasing for a lot of her kin. Regarding my alt, Versoix.. He's pretty laid back and doesn't really care too much what people think, or what he thinks. Unless they are a wildwood. Being a Duskwight, he's fairly wary around them. Not in any sort of negative manner. He's just more afraid they are going to be cruel to him. Link to comment
