What did you name your chocobo(s)?

So! I'm curious as to the names everybody picked for their chocobo(s)! What did you name yours?

I named my character's regular chocobo Ironbeak because it was the first thing to pop into my head when I first acquired him. My racing chocobo, on the other hand, is named Garlean Maelstrom since you're limited to picking from specific sets of words and it shows off my love for the Garlean Empire!

I haven't gotten a chance to head to the Saucer for my racing chocobos, but I've actually put a decent bit of thought into my characters' normal ones.

First and foremost is Gogon's White Chocobo Annelace, which is named after the flower Queen Anne's Lace. Since Gogon mains a healing class, and the Chocobo itself is Healing-specced for soloing, I felt an homage to the HP-restoring White Chocobos of yore was in order. As such, I named her (I completely blanked on the fact that we're given male chocobos in the story and have just stuck to calling it a she out of habit) after a flower that symbolizes a haven or sanctuary. It also stands for complexity and delicateness, the former being quite fitting for the mount of an Arcanist/Scholar.

Chachan's was just him being a total goofball and naming Avenger something nice and heroic. Save the day, avenge the fallen, GET BIRDMAN COFFEE. Ahem. In all seriousness - or perhaps not, considering it's Chachan - I'm planning on making it Dalmund Red because the little Lalafell is of the belief that red feathers means he'll go faster.

As for Judge, he doesn't have his bird yet (too low level), but I already have plans for it. It will most likely either remain the default color (the "proper" chocobo color) or dyed black. And since he is Judge, it will be named Jury. Because I'm so horribly uncreative.

Brightfeather for mine since she's a healer. Something about bright, curative light or something...

My racing chocobo is Reckless Shadow. I was reckless indeed when I burnt out her stamina in my first race and she flailed her way into fifth place.

My regular 'bo was named in a bit of panic. I had no idea we could name the thing, and so I stood staring at my screen in utter shock for a good while as I wracked my brain. Ultimately, I leaned on my heavily-used and probably-not-very-clever crutch of the Roegadyn language.

The name ended up Guldblyss, which means "Gold Blossom"

No racing 'bo yet, as I'm still at work as of this writhing...and I'm not sure I'll be any more imaginative, since I named my 'bo and my Sleipnir in the Roegadyn language. ><;

I named my main's Trajan because I love the name and Trajan was a Roman emperor, one focused on expanding the empire. I play a character with a love of adventuring and seeking out new places so I thought it fit to have her chocobo named that.

Adelina's chocobo... I'll be honest, I did it to be funny. I want to dye it flamingo pink, or as someone pointed out to me the color of cooked shrimp, so as a joke I decided to call it Gumbo. I wouldn't change it for anything now because in some sick way it's kind of funny to have a shrimp colored giant chicken getting fattened up to become... gumbo. :P

So me and Nailah's chocobo is a good example of how, when you have English as your second language, you're not always so savvy on the slang. The option to name your chocobo was unknown to me until the prompt was in my face, so I never took very long to think about it. I'm not so good with names. I asked myself, how does a bird attack (Because a chocobo is pretty much a bird) and came to the conclusion that they peck with their beaks. So I decided that the glorious name should be... Pecker.

With great pride I announced this to my BF, after having hit confirm, and he burst into laughter.

And then revealed to me what that word also means.

I decided not to rename Pecker when it came to it, and fortunately I haven't had any complaints about it either. Just a whole lot of giggles when the following text rolls into the game: Pecker has joined the party.

Needless to say, Pecker is entirely OOC.

I named my racing chocobo Evil Spark, perhaps it is because of the likes of me that they do not allow you unrestricted access to names. :3

My alt Thala'to's chocobo is called Mittens, because there was a pair of mittens in my vicinity at the time (Namely in his inventory). That chocobo is IC. I haven't gotten him a racing one yet :)

Well... Eleni has a female Snow White chocobo named Mimi. Where did I get it from? I have a whitefaced lutino female cockatiel Mimi, and for some reason, I always associate to cockatiels as the closest thing to real life chocobos. I mean, come on! They look so alike! :surprise:

No racing chocobo yet, still have to download the latest patch. xD

The fact that you can NAME your Chocobo definitely seems to catch a lot of people off-guard. Gogon's Chocobo actually had the unoriginal name "Vanilla" until I gave Gogon his proper Lalafell name and decided she needed a more fitting one as well.

I'm actually rather glad it's so easy to change your bird's name, compared to things like the original number of GC seals required for resetting your class stat spread (they nerfed it GREATLY a couple patches ago) or obtaining that food item that resets the chocobo's ability tree choices.

Yeah I can imagine xD I have decided not to rename the poor thing because it's been so long now - more than a year - and it just seems a part of the deal now, if you understand what I mean. That and I can't really think of another name xD

I think the best combo of names I've ever seen is a player called Suddenly Spiders and then their chocobo was called Spiders :D

Ilwe had a Chocobo named Anduril.. Because it's the name I pick for every single mount I use in every single game since.. Dunno.. Almost 10 years ?

But Anduril got killed during one plot and so I renamed my chocobo Diavhal. Beside the fact I do like Diaval in Maleficent movie, I love how it sounds and I added a h because I liked the "form" of the name more with it (without h it looked uncomplete to me).

I'm thinking, if it's possible, I want to name my racing chocobo "Mistake Not", which will be short for "Mistake Not My Current State of Joshing Gentle Peevishness For The Awesome And Terrible Majesty Of The Towering Seas of Ire That Are Themselves The Milquetoast Shallows Fringing My Vast Oceans Of Wrath."

My chocobo doubles as a ship from The Culture.
