  1. The biggest issue about a villain pc is the endgame. Sure the heroes want a grand chase, the villain esxaping from their clutches. That works well a few times but ultimately, no one enjoys having a villain they can't eventually beat. If the villain is a pc as opposed to an npc, then you have the issue that most people come Into. People dont want their characters to die. Which would be the ideal end to the heroes story.
  2. I wouldn't say they've been fucked over.... Why do you need to be in an FC to level a gatherer? You don't, but speaking as a miner who's kinda stuck on progress until he can afford to pay multiple millions of gil for the gear just to be to mine anything higher than a 1-star node, try leveling a gatherer WITHOUT friend/FC support. It can be done, but once you hit that Top Tier Gear wall... ouch. The gear economy is already kinda wretched for anything significantly above level 50, so yeah, I can see a lot of screwiness until all the new stuff gets figured out. I have leveled a Gatherer without Friend/FC support. In fact I leveled all 3 of the gathering classes without it. And the only thing I got friends to do was leve items for crafters, but again, most of that was done off my own back. Just takes a little bit longer is all. And you don't need to spend millions of gil on anything. Go spiritbond. It's what most of us poor people who managed it did.
  3. It makes zero sense to use THM from a mechanics standpoint. The only Cross Class skills of any use from it are to do with Cast times, and as a Melee class, especially as a tank, it is doubtful that it would use cast times.

  5. And every Gatherer wringing their hands as they set the price for the crafters....
  6. My happiness is entirely contingent of the suffering of others. Nat, you missed your calling as an Electronic Arts employee. I'm choosing now to blame SWTOR's Cartel Market system on you, because I like you and want you to be happy 8-) If I had it my way you would need all classes at 50, a t13 clear, a gold pony the fenrir mount and a lvl 20 chocobo companion to even install the expansion. I take it back. Apparently, you worked for Games Workshop, at some point. Hey, I won't have anything bad said against GW employees. anyway, if that was the case, then the requirement would be that some of the classes get removed for balance..... and some others loose half their abilities.
  7. I now want a bandito style Lalafell character....
  8. Knight... different colour but its the same armor. I have to disagree, the pauldrons and Polyns don't match up (the shoulder and knee arnmour, same with the cuisse (upper leg). Also the helmet looks different, though the angle is slightly off, the 3d one looks to be a bascinet, and the drawing? looks to be a sallet. There are also some divergences with the cuirass also. yes, I'm an armour nerd.... it comes with being a larper and soon to be re-enactor
  9. I'm happy where I am for the expansion, all my classes are max level, yeah sure my PLD isn't geared out (due to sub downtimes etc) but that doesn't matter to me as much. However, my motivation dips generally in accordance with my depression. If I'm going through a low period I am just not up to doing much it shows, and I tend to just scroll tumblr for cat pics and funnies. However, with a month to go (less for me, get in EA!) it's picking back up as I my hype for this is actually helping me get out of my slump
  10. well some people call me Neko... (Yes, I'm looking at you Clio....) its Naa-Koh-Lee.
  11. I use Vit gear, cause I don't trust pug healers, don't have issues with threat and it works for me. That said, with the expanding of the Poetics Cap I am going to be picking up STR gear.
  12. How does your character deal with killing? Coldly, and matter of factly. It's his job, and he is good at it. Anyone he has killed has been a target of importance to either himself or Ul'dah. How did he feel after his first kill? Given it was his sister, pretty damn shitty. Does your character mull it over later on? When he doesn't drink himself into a drunken stupor, yes, he has nightmares where he see's the face of every person he has killed. They stopped for a bit recently, but have come back since.
  13. I would like to expand upon this, if I may? I believe, as said above that image macro's can serve a humorous addition to a post. If they are the addition, not the core content. Which is what I believe the spirit of the rules is. I would say that my interpretation is if your entire post can be summed up just by the use of said meme, then is it worth posting? It doesn't add anything to the discussion. If however you have a response thought out and written out, and said meme adds emphasis that is pertinent to your response, then its all gravy. that is however, my opinion on them.
  14. they did state that we'll be getting a ton more lore on stars and constellations and the like come heavensward, so I guess please look forwards to it?
  15. and why did the mods decide that, i wonder? could it be because roleplayers were doing what roleplayers do best and making drama out of nothing? the rules revisions weren't a random decision made on the fly, they were a reaction to a barrage of complaints i have seen this kind of ridiculous shit happen in pretty much every rp community ive been part of (and it probably wasnt just me, surely im not that much of an impact on people). someone inevitably works themselves into rectal fission over the idea that they're being picked on, these people gradually form a loud and demanding group, administration goes on a witch hunt and things that were never seen as a problem in the past are suddenly mortal sins it always happens, it's a fucking farce when it happens and im both amazed and appalled that it keeps happening no matter where i go when will you people learn??? youre gonna miss me when im gone personally? no I won't but that's cause I don't feel we're close, and as such, it will simply be a meh feeling. I will think it is sad that you felt you had to leave, but that will be it. The reason, to my knowledge, that the rules were clarified was that the moderation team felt that the environment within the RPC had deteriorated to a point were taking action was felt to be an appropriate step. They are also members of the community, and have a fairly good grasp of the environment they want to promote. Most of them having been here since 1.0. Yes, the number of complaints received likely went up as the community deteriorated. Which it did. That is a basic causality, and likely to be expected. Also, to state that 'things that were never seen as a problem in the past are suddenly mortal sins' is a gross error. They were always against the rules, however there was more leniency given in that past. It is now felt that the leniency has been taken advantage of, and the mods are now being more proactive. Don't like the rules? No one is telling you to stay. it's like you didn't even read my post, you're just spouting the same tired points you've been trying to smugly shut other people down with for the past month or so the mods felt this the mods felt that community deterioration theyve been round a long time they must be right dont like it leave youre wrong but im not gonna tell you why im just gonna use words like "causality" and "error" to make my arguments for me instead i dont like the rules so im gonna bitch about them incessantly until im forced to stop, and then when im forced to stop im just gonna bitch somewhere else, i will bitch so goddamn hard that my keyboard will be sticky with sweat, tears, spilt coffee and drool im gonna throw tantrums the likes of which the internet's never (read: always) seen and you're gonna watch me and it's almost as if you've simply ignored those points cause they don't kowtow to your percieved freedoms on this site. lets break it down for you. The community atmostphere within this group has deteriorated (or gotten worse, if you are unsure as to what it means). This is a fact. Even when there was heated debate and argument over which server for people to join, balmung or Gilgamesh, it was never this bad. As the mods have been part of that community, seeing it go through said deterioration, they are entitled to try and step up their game by actively policing the rules that you agree to when you sign up to this site. I shouldn't have to tell you why that is.... it's just basic common understanding that moderators are there to, wait for it, moderate the users and the threads to ensure that they conform to the aforementioned rules. believing that using specific words like errors diminishes my argument shows that it wasn't fully understood by yourself, so apologies if the language I have used is more simplistic for you this time.

  17. it's probably the same sort of thing as a Liberal Fascist.... at least in the way that it tends to be used now.
  18. No one is calling for kid gloves. The mods decided that it was required to actually be more stringent with the rules that everyone agreed to when signing up to the website. That's being responsible and owning what you say.
  19. if f=bought from the SE store, they say billing will occur rouighly 10 days before launch
  20. I made this aaaages ago (was my skype pic for a while), but yeah, here's a Nako
  21. its not very lore friendly at all (I don't mean that as an attack, hear me out.) In lore, Sucubus are Voidsent that are drawn to and inhabit the bodies of dead women. in my own plots Nako has dealt with Voidsent, either sealing them in a host and then destroying the host so they died with it, drawn them out into a prepared vessel to store (ala the pot from the THM quest line) etc. Its a very much grey area, dealign with voidtouched/tainted.
  22. If I had game time atm I would be able to check now, but alas
