Some have said it in this topic even. The problem with that is that, honestly, raid mechanics ain't even that complex. It's pretty much a multiple person Press X To Not Die. no one said it was a good intro to raid mechanics, just that it was one. in the manner of one shot mechanics.

Actually, hand-to-hand combat happens far more today than it has any other time in the last few centuries. Because today's conflicts are almost entirely urban, soldiers tend to get up close and personal with enemies. However, where the gun-sword was quickly determined to be stupid, the gun-spear is one of the most effective weapons ever created. Also known as the bayonet, this weapon is so effective that it will probably stick around long enough to be used in wars on other planets. by last few centuries, how far back are you going? cause I am fairly certain Hand to Hand was far more prevalent in the Napoleonic wars, and that was only 200ish years ago.

For reference, you can plug in almost every single class/job here. Black Mage / Thaumaturge White Mage / Conjurer Bard / Archer Monk / Pugilist Paladin / Gladiator Summoner / Arcanist Scholar / Arcanist Ninja / Rogue Dragoon / Lancer They use the fundamentals, and they all get ______ as well. Could be rephrased as "What's the big deal with ? It's just with ." I actually think Scholar and Summoner are probably the two hardest to justify. ._. One requires having beaten the primals and the others is finding a rare species of fae? Faeries are called upon in the same manner as carbuncles, also brought up in the lore video posted earlier.

You have to call upon that egi and beat it, the ability to call upon it is being in the area when a primal dies. Hence why you have to beat the primals to do those class quests.

To be honest I would kind of welcome a lore drop stating that anyone utilising the void/voidtouched goes insane/evil. Would actually give it the gravitas it kind of deserves.

We are simply picking roleplay partners that fit our interpretation of the lore. this post is also pertinent to the thread at hand: How to properly react to RP you don't like? accept that you guys aren't going to mesh and move on. I know and I was supporting you. My response was addressing to those who are saying that "others are just wrong and shouldn't do it because of this and this and this.". again, we are not cornering off anyone but ourselves. If anything, we are restricting our own RP partners. please read the part in bold again. I would also like to point out that yes, there are 2.5 millions of light, but 2.5 million people didnt jump up and down on the wreckage of teh Ultima weapon, 2.5 million people didn't attend the party thrown to allow you the knowledge to go and kick Titan in his battle thong. But I reserve my right to not roleplay with someone who has not even thought about the plausability of the situation... As has been stated from the start. Just as Armachia is perfectly entitled to not RP with someone whose lore interpretation does not mesh with hers... as she has been saying. neither of us have stated: YOU CAN'T BE A WHITE MAGE! STOP ROLEPLAYING A WHITEMAGE! we have simply stated that we will choose not to roleplay with such (I am more willing to engage in it if the premise is plausible, however). You are entitled to RP whatever concept you choose, with whoever chooses to RP with you. I'm typically cautious of what devs say in off-the-cuff situations, such as panels. It depends on context. I'll need to check out the live recording of where that particular quote from White Mages comes from to say anything about that one in particular, so I won't reference that in particular! However, devs (even lore devs) will often respond from a mechanical point of view and the gameplay's overall story narrative, rather than from the lens of lore as roleplayers tend to see it. So, I'm really, really wary of saying that they're the word of god with absolute certainty. They tend to think of the game AS that main story arc; not the rest of the world, not the side characters, the people who are making their quiet living in amongst all the other stuff going on. But as I mentioned earlier, I'm also new. So, I don't know how reliable Fernehalwes is. Other people would have a better perspective there. SvNpO4gy_Tg thats the video, should be set to the right location as well, if not its at around 35:30. Fernewhales is a member of the Localisation team, and is pretty much the underling of the head lore guy, who I have never seen make an appearance.

please see my above post. they do not currently have acces to it, they are simply working to achieve said aims. Come heavensward that could all change and be the focus of the WHM quest line, but until now, only the Padjal and the MSQ WOL are the only people with it.

They state that you the character of the MSQ are an outsider. People can choose to RP as members of the general community and that is, surprise surprise not breaking lore. The majority of people that follow a closer lore adherence do not take part in that. We try to simply walk away and move on. But then we get shouted at for not being inclusive enough.
