  1. A prime example of the sort of passive aggressive personal attacks that these policies will not fix. That's isn't the definition of passive aggressive. I'm being quite blunt. it seems to me your are looking for arguments Ok so just a regularly aggressive personal attack then? statement of opinion does not make it an attack. It looks like you are looking for arguments, over opinions and facts that were clarified. Whether or not this is the case is another matter, this is what it looks like.
  2. ok, and in that situation I would say that isn't offensive, and even if people did find it so, and reported it as such, that doesn't garauntee a warning. As all you are doing is voicing an oposing viewpoint. You haven't attacked anyone. And continuing to argue the same point, doesn't make it offensive, and would most likely, still result in no warning.
  3. Yes, this exactly. I feel like it discourages people from voicing open disagreement, and instead rewards users for being passive aggressive and veiled. Except it doesn't. No one is stopping open disagreement. As long as it is constructive and not a personal attack... as has been stated many times already in this thread. I don't believe he has said that. What he has said that if you make a point, and it's offensive, and you continue to make it, you can be punished. A fact which is irrespective of the quality and pertinence of the point. If that is indeed the case, then that's fine. if you can give an example of the sort of point your refering to? cause I am struggling to think up examples of things that are offensive that a) I would choose to say, and b) continue to say after realising that it is offensive.
  4. Problem is that they weren't in the clear before either. I also don't think anyone's getting censored anytime soon. Also, why do you feel the need to warn about the inflammatory content? Why is it necessary? Seriously I do not get that point at all. Just yolo post, edit it out if you realize that's not what you wanted to say upon reread. Like I just did. Because editing posts is also punishable <_< Freelance stated that it isn't editing in general... but editing to try and claim you never said something, to try and somehow leverage an advantage in an argument/discussion.

  6. These rules have always been here. From the moment you signed up to the site, the rules were there. You agreed to abide by them by registering.
  7. Nat, did you know that people have managed to have discussions - complete with dissension and conflict - without falling back on petty insults and the like? There are examples stretching waaaaaaaay back in history! I understand what you're trying to do. You're worried that you'll fail to consider the words you write, and you'll get shut out of this community. But you're going about it all wrong. Dissension is good. On that you and I (and pretty much everyone here) can agree. Conflict is fine. This discussion we're having right now? It's got dissension and conflict. Notice how neither of us has had to resort to insulting one another? This is not a black and white issue, where there is one side that is filled with free-spirited people tossing around insults in the spirit of free speech and another side filled with 1984-esque thought police. Trying to cast it as such is simply ludicrous. "Your right to swing your arms ends just where the other man's nose begins." I understand your viewpoint, and I don't agree with it. We're just going to have to agree to disagree. Again, insults are in the eye of the one who reads them. If I say, "This is a stupid point because x y and Z" Is that insult? Or just a disagreement? It could be taken either way, depending on how the reader views it. I personally would take a statement like that as just disagreement. Anyway it doesn't matter as I'm board with the rules now, I'm sure I'll break them from time to time still, but I don't forsee myself doing it often enough to be permabanned. That is a critique, not an insult. You targeted what they were positing, not they themselves. and it was backed up by x y and z. now if you had said, that is stupid because x y and z and people who think otherwise are stupid. Thats when it becomes an insult

  9. Also remember that a lot of the 2.1 content was content they didnt have time to implement before 2.0 launched. Crystal tower for instance.
  10. I like them as they stand, should help with some of the attitudes around here. Nat, if I may ask, to understand part of your issue with it; how do you break a rule in good faith?
  11. Lets see: Dress Uniform Active-Duty Uniform Full Plate Harness 'Casual' work clothes 'Fancy' work clothes Formal attire about 3 different types of robes. a fair few....
  12. Nako probably met one or two on his travels around the Empire a few years back, though most likely at a distance, but maybe a couple up close, so most likely it will just be surprise that they are in Eorzea now.
  13. I got 7K, which was considered extremely high.... I need a new pc though, or rather, a new HDD with windows 7 and about 6GB more of RAM.... damn this Vista 32bit backup HDD....
  14. in love with what I assume to be the DRG lb3
  15. Yeah, For the most part, they look like they do their job. And not as ridiculous as some. Though the game does have its more ridiculous sets (looking at you, MDPS set in Syrcus Tower.... and the Sugarloaf hats...)
  16. I'm white, Nako is white, but thatis because he is primarily nocturnal, even now. where he a Seeker, he would be darker, as being Diurnal in a desert clime would indicate that to be a common thing.
  17. I wouldn't say I was popular, nor do I truly interact much with the people who may be considered popular. I bump into some of them at the Grindstone, or may have a scene here and there, but in all honesty, I'm just a person whose out and about and doesn't really do much? in fact, probably the most interaction I've had with a 'popular' person are my tells to Warren every now and then when we have a bit of a laugh..... but I will say Cliques happen, and will continue to happen, because of basic human thought process. We like to make tribes. Us vs Them mentality. who supports a football team? thats a Clique. Who is proud of their city or their Nationality? thats a Clique. stop deamonising them, and remember, as has been said before, they are not bad, and it is only when they are being used to try and manouvere some sort of advantage of 'I'm in this clique therefore I am more important than you' attitude that they become bad. Which is something I've /never/ seen here.

  19. whups, just realised that I may not be able to make it, so cant commit to performing.
  20. Nako teleports the entire hill to be underneath him. "I think you'll find it's my hill now."
  21. Thaumaturgy comes from within. you are litteraly using your own aether to power your spells, focused through the scepter. Nowhere in any quests does it mention THM's drawing from anywhere apart from oneself.
  22. Obviously it simply means that some Arcanists worship Chaos Undivided.... on a serious note I dunno
