  1. This is probably the absolute worst to me. If I'm obviously OOC in PvE gear or am chilling near the retainer bell/on our OOC hedge (aptly named because it's where we all go OOC), staring at a mailbox, goofing off by running around in circles, and many other obviously OOC things, please don't approach me and try to force me IC. There are some people that assume every action in game is an IC action or that they can just approach people and force them IC by greeting them IC and just.. no. Don't. It's a huge peeve of mine and it's not only annoying as shit, but comes off as incredibly obnoxious as well.
  2. Not being okay with walk-up RP just makesno sense to me in an MMO setting. I understand that there are those kinds of people you'd like to avoid, but that's kind of the risk you take when you choose to RP in an MMO environment. Half of the people most of us haveprobably met/currently RP with are those we randomly met via walk-up RP, and by excluding others people are really just stifling the possibility for their own RP to grow, meet new, exciting people, and the growth of the RP community as a whole. That being said, what Faye said prettymuch sums it up. I, for one, am pretty open to walk-up RP so if you see any of my characters around, do so by all means! Though, as she said, there are times when I’m not going to be IC (and others as well), so if you’re unsure just send a whisper and ask the person =) there’s nothing wrong with that at all.
  3. What is black ops 3? sounds racist imo
  4. There have been only a couple of times I can think of that I got very close, but none have actually made me cry. Like Berrod said, it tends to take a lot to make me actually cry anyway. Most movies and things fail to bring me to tears and my girlfriend calls me heartless :v But we do chat about it on Skype and talk about it after, and I do feel genuinely sad for the characters involved. Some of the things we put our little guys and ladies through are just awful
  5. Children Lalafel is just the stigma that comes with playing the race due to the awful majority playing them. Same applies to gay/manwhore catboys, mesbian catgirls, and others. You either accept that it is there and RP beyond it or play something else.
  6. If camp is the issue, you might enjoy Marvel's Netflix series (Daredevil and the upcoming Jessica Jones). They're a lot more grounded in nature and a bit grittier in presentation. Also I'd prefer to have this discussion about awful media personalities with awful overcombs moved elsewhere. Yeah, I actually watched Daredevil and loved it. I'm looking forward to Jessica Jones =) I have to admit that campy stuff just isn't for me unless it's some sort of B or C-movie. Then I at least go into it expecting it, you know?
  7. I watched Arrow for the first season. After the second I decided I was done with it. It had promise but, to me, it just got very campy and very awful very quickly. Flash seemed to be exactly the same way, and I haven't seen anything out of it to tell me otherwise.
  8. tbh almost all of the hero-based shows going on right now are terrible.
  9. Welcome to the beginning of "We have their money and proved a success. Now we can be lazy."
  10. As I've said before, to me the soul stone is just a plot device that SE uses to justify being able to swap classes on a whim. They have a horrible history with coming up with half-assed lore to explain game mechanics. Of course, I don't mind other people using it and I'm not going to tell them they can't or anything. After all, it's there/in the game =) I'm just not really fond of the it, myself.
  11. As Manari already pointed out, white hair is one of the more insanely common choices of hairstyle. Hell, in WoW you couldn't throw a stick without hitting a night elf with white hair.
  12. I don't currently have any RP crushes to be entirely honest. Most of the people I want to RP with, I either already do or have/plan to at some length. That being said, when I wanted to, I would either approach them OOC or just emote at them. I'm lucky in that most of my character archetypes are able to be thrown into almost any situation, so I just find a hook that would match the characters together and go from there
  13. After giving it some thought, Val would just hand out condoms and tell them "good luck."
  14. I've personally considered the concept of soulstones and spiritbonds one of SE's horrid attempts at explaining game mechanics through half-assed story. There are some people that just overlook it entirely.
  15. I agree. I am disappointed if this is the result of one of the biggest online gaming communities coming together to collaborate :? Well, it was final fantasy fans picking haircuts. I never really expected much to come from it. Most of the ones that were picked were things that we already have a ton of. Real bummer, really x_x
  16. Makes two of us the hairstyles lately have all been relatively the same/awful.
  17. Val is monogamous only because of Faye. Originally, he didn't want to do it at all and fussed and argued with her. But then he realized "Hey I can tell her I'll be monogamous and sleep with her and then bail." Only he then realized he really enjoyed having a hot, rich woman to buy him everything he wanted. That lifestyle doesn't necessarily fit with Seeker culture and I've played Val's manwhore attitude into his past: his tribe punished him often, especially his father, and he was constantly ridiculed for it to the point of being kicked out of his tribe. I've played it that they are to respect their women and not treat them like objects, whereas Val does precisely the opposite. Anyway, there are ways to make it work. Val still struggles with it from time to time to the point that he gets uncomfortable with being alone with an attractive lady because he doesn't much trust himself. And even if he isn't particularly fond of monogamy, he has to admit the perks that come with his situation are pretty nice.
  18. ( Some dark/mature themes, even if only briefly! ) He couldn’t sleep. But that wasn’t abnormal, was it? Usually it came because an idea or thought caused his mind to be far too restless, and that was not currently far from the truth. The man didn’t really know where he was going, preferring instead to allow his feet to do the leading. He made his way down from the guest room of the estate, through the foyer and into the hallway. A turn here, a turn there, and the descent of a flight of stairs led him down to the basement. The man made his way past the various contraptions, through the room that housed seemingly hundreds of vials and containers of a airy, bluish-green substance, past a room full of cages filled with various entities and beings—some of the known world and some not—until he finally came to a stop a few rooms beyond. His violet eyes surveyed the surroundings. It was all just as they had left it. Blood pooled on the floor along the edge of a circle that had been drawn in chalk, though the majority of it had dried by now. The candles around the circle had long-since melted away, and various cadavers and limbs littered the floor. He set to cleaning. He couldn’t remember the last time he’d been forced to pick things up himself. It should have already been done by the various servants in the estate, assuming he even had any left after the events. He did, didn’t he? If not, perhaps he would have to find the means to make more. After all, there were plenty resources in which nobody had need of; plenty that were carelessly thrown out and going to waste. Most of them, no one missed. Most of them went unwanted or unheard of. Only occasionally would he see a flyer or article about one, but by then it no longer mattered. It was not until he placed the final cadaver on its respective table that his body gave out, forcing him to slump against the darkened wood for support. Weakness was something he’d not felt in some time. He loathed feeling powerless, helpless and unable to take control of the changes and events around him. He felt it now more than ever. His muscles ached and his head throbbed with a dull, pulsing pain. More importantly, his chest burned. It had been ever since the events, but he would not make it known. No, neither of them deserved to worry about him for what he’d put them through. It was to be his penance. “Feast,” ordered a sudden voice from the dark recesses of his mind, deep and commanding. There was a lengthy pause before he deigned an audible response. “I have already taken all that these have to give. There is nothing left.” “You must look beyond what you have already taken.” “Beyond wh—Surely, you cannot mean..” “There exists power in flesh.” The voice was right. He knew it to be true. He could sense the remnants flowing about the body, not quite having left. If it was not taken directly, it would surely go to waste. His right hand lifted to brush over the corpse, fingers tracing over the exposed skin and decaying organs. Some of the flesh inside was still good, not yet taken by the onset of rot. It hadn’t been here for too long. “Feast,” the voice commanded again. It took little effort to dislodge some of the raw meat and bring it up to his lips, even with the weakness of his body. He hesitated, peering beyond the small bite to the body that it had come from. His hand was shaking purely because of how tired he was, wasn’t it? Certainly it had nothing to do with apprehension or fear or anxiety. “FEED,” came the voice once more, booming from deep within. “Nothing must go to waste.” “Nothing must go to waste,” he echoed as he slipped the morsel of flesh past his lips.
  19. Val ran with a gang of thieves in Limsa. It's very possible that the two ran into each other at some point
  20. Erm, yeah, teleportation is a fraught subject. Like, it's definitely lore-compliant, but it's also such a cop-out that the lore conveniently forgets about it on a regular basis. I'm one of those who don't acknowledge it in RP. I admittedly feel the same way regarding teleportation. I'm not much a fan of cop-out services and devices that allow someone to easily escape, especially my own PC. That being said, I wanted to take the time to say that I love this idea! I have a character whose parents fled ishgard while his mother was pregnant with him, and I'd love for your group to have helped them take refuge
  21. IT'S THE FEDS, RUN (Nah in all seriousness the board has been a blast so far. Thanks guys!)
  22. Gridania: That one catboy that ran around hitting on and sleeping with women until he was finally ran out of town for sleeping with a noblewoman in particular. Limsa: That one catboy that visited bars and stole from street vendors. Was likely seen a lot with thieves and sailors. Ul'dah: That one catboy that slept under the bridge a lot where they now hold the grindstone. Could be seen a lot in brothels. For all: Stopped coming around after getting a job for that one noble lady.
