Considering this person has made a bunch of threads for this and there isn't much going on for them til now... I don't know.

I usually only start forum RP with someone who I know already... I'm bad about 'random' forum RP. My poor penpal never got a reply from me either aaahh. My past experiences with random forum RP weren't very good, but then again that was some weird RP stuff way back in ye olde tymes when I was like 12 and ffinsider was a thing.

I got my turtle mount! I also got a 4 pack platinum card thing from the tournament and got some great cards! Hmm IRL stuff that is good.. well, my birds are always good.

I have an idea. But if they're using dynamic IP addresses banning the IP might not do anything.

In all actuality, the two pages that were hit were not what you would call the "popular" kids at all. I don't think that I've ever seen one of them really post on the forums at all. Hey now. Hey now. How is my chocobo to respond? He can't type with those big claws of his. I'm certainly alive and well though. I wouldn't have even noticed the page being disturbed if a friend didn't inform me. Do you guys ban IP addresses or just accounts?

I really liked the German voices for the newest stuff. A+, everyone sounded great.

Probably not enough but it's my own fault for not branching out and trying to gather people up. Sometimes I do make my own little RP events but I miss when Stefan would round us up and DM something neat. I don't usually DM, I'm lame and I just RP walk across the world.

It takes a lot to make my character uncomfortable. But it doesn't take much to make me uncomfortable. I usually stick it through and go "OH NO!" "OH MY GOD!" "HOLY SHIT!" (imagine it in Joseph Joestar's voice) then at the end of the day I snicker to my friends about the hilariously terrible RP I endured. I'm an awful person and I genuinely have fun screwing around with creepers. And as for this particular situation? I wouldn't be afraid to OOCly ask friends to save you ICly. Is it some form of meta gaming? Probably. But if you don't want to do something, don't do it. Plus it's a good way to get a friend to RP with you. Everybody wins but creeper!

Neat. So if this is an OOC meeting, I'll attend as Clement Janvier. If it's an IC meeting, I'll be bringing the actual leader of my little FC along. I didn't feel like combing through this whole thread but I did read the first post... still not sure if it's an IC or an OOC meeting. :?

This entire thread with its original topics being argued don't seem constructive, either. If only because the law is the law and that's the way it is. Argue the law as much as you like but with such a sensitive topic, why argue? Why does anyone need solid evidence that something like this is illegal? Why does anyone even want to take the high risk, just for internet pretend times? There's no good leg to stand on here. There just isn't. I'm baffled over here. Baffled and entirely too concerned.

Oh goodness, but this is a big deal. It deserves caps/sizing. To some of us, the risk of ruining our entire lives, putting children at risk and ending up in a prison is a very big deal that words apparently can't convey. It's hardly even an argument, actually. You can't argue with a judge when you are in court. You pray to god your lawyer is good at doing that for you. When something is against the law it is against the law. When people's real lives are at risk over a fantasy world of pretend, it's a big deal. Why even bother comparing this to real life false rape charges? EDIT: I am compelled to add... controlling what a 14-17 year old is doing online is a very difficult challenge. Controlling what they're up to IRL is enough of a challenge. Good luck with that endeavour. That is an immense job-- no a full time job, that in this age, with all the smart phones and such is next to impossible. As an adult, keep yourself safe. Don't count on other people to keep you safe.

Of course they're not. But do you want to go to prison in real life? Are you sure that it is legal in your state, where you live, even if both parties are 18 ooc? In the province I live in, in the country I live in, even if you are over 18 and writing things like that you can face charges.

Both, really. When you think of the type of person who is going to RP a 16 year old in a tavern trying to catch a one night stand, what kind of person do you think of? A 50 something trying to play out a fetish? A 16 year old just roleplaying their age? Does it matter? Why risk it at all. I can see this being an extreme censorship if it were in a written, published novel, or any other type of media. However, this is online and in real time. A parent isn't realistically going to be over their child's shoulder while they are RPing, while they may be in the room when an episode of south park comes on. Above all, children cannot consent. Although, there have been publicly known cases of children doing bad things online (such as posing in pictures) and being tried as adults. Children are being charged with distributing child pornography. Let that sink in for a moment, especially if you are under age. You erping someone, could potentially turn into you being branded a sex offender if you are tried as an adult. I'm not trying to attack you Faye, 9/10 I agree with everything you post. But if a case of exposing a child to pornography pops up in court, that person's defence turns into 'extreme censorship'? That will not fly. The judge will not buy that. That person is going to jail. That person's family will never think of them the same way again. That person's significant other might agree with 'extreme censorship' but no court of law will take that into consideration. This issue is too big to sweep under the rug with biology, or letting people feel included. This isn't an issue for people to pat one another on the shoulder and say 'it's ok, don't feel uncomfortable friend'. People should be uncomfortable. This is an issue to feel uncomfortable about. I'll add this, though. If you are an adult RPing an under age character and you're not involved in anything sexual at all? Report the people who are harassing you to squeenix. I know that it happens. I know that people are out there looking for under age characters. It is very important to have your voice heard. Like I said, this is a big deal. Fantasy or not, this is where IC can bite you in the ass OOC and in a very big way.

If you had kids, would you want them exposed to this kind of thing? Biology aside, we are living in the year 2015 and there are laws. Sure you can examine why you are uncomfortable but honestly you should be uncomfortable. If it's not the age that makes you uncomfortable, let it be the law that makes you uncomfortable. How would you feel, knowing your children were online and being mentally violated? Sure you can twist it any way you like to make yourself comfortable, but the bottom line is it is illegal. Consider your uncomfortable feeling biology, too. I'd like to think we've evolved with a fear of prison. I don't need to say why. The natural uncomfortable feeling of 'do I want to risk my entire life and well-being over a fictional fantasy world'? That's a perfectly normal and acceptable thing to be uncomfortable about. Or you being in prison, being permanently branded a sex offender and losing everything?

My character believes in love, but doesn't feel he really deserves it. When I first started RPing him he was less in love with people than he was just obsessed with them. Buying them all kinds of nice stuff, toting them around on his arm to show them off, that kind of thing. As most people that become obsessed with something, it's only a matter of time before something new comes around to obsess over. Sometimes even in secret. He's cheated on a lot of his lovers, some who he stayed with for months without them knowing he was messing around. There was one person who he managed to stay on-and-off with throughout the span of three of his relationships, which was just terrible. Currently it seems he's calmed down. Being the emotionally awkward 'I must destroy my feelings, show no weakness' kind of guy he is, it's difficult for him to actually SHOW that he loves his partner. It's much easier to just buy them a lot of stuff. He's ignorant about how much damage he can do with just a few words and most of the time he's scrambling to make up for what ever insensitive stuff he blurts out. So far so good.

I'm trying to get back into some more 'community RP' or better known as 'random RP'. Sure it's easy to say, JUST JUMP RIGHT ON IN! But when you stand there among other RPers writing multiple emotes nobody responds to, it's much easier to give up. (Or in my case, only RP with people I know already.)

My character would probably have a stiff drink and watch the fight, place a few bets.. if they tried to drag him into it he'd laugh and remove himself from the situation. ..Unless it was something he was really passionate about, like killing garleans or voidsent. I don't know who'd argue pro-garlean or pro-voidsent but Clementine would bash 'em in the face.
