  2. Event A Friday March 23, 8:00 est Location: Coerthas Western Highlands Something something doomsday, something something end of the world. Reports of a strange keeper of the moon in coerthas running a cult that teaches end of the world doctrine has been on the rise. Especially with the changes Ishgard has gone through during the final chorus of the dragonsong war. Followers are extremely secretive and hard to find. While there have been no signs of violence from his followers, the fact that he is entrancing young Ishgardians to apostisize from Halone. More concerning is reports from Ul'dah of Keepers practicing witchcraft makes this all the more concerning. A leve has been put out to adventurers to find this cult and discover more intelligence about this group. 1. An-kai 2.Jana 3. 4. Event B April 1st 8:00 pm EST Gyr Abania Return to the Nightmare The horrors that were discovered in a secluded swamp were concerning. Worse is that with rumors of disappearances of occurring outside the swamp have risen. The decision has been made to find out more about this group of Keepers despite the dangers of what had occurred. Adventurers have been called on to investigate the location. Particularly the aether in the area in order to discover more about these witches. Any assistance would be appreciated. 1. Artoria 2. Holy 3. Lan 4.
  3. It's a fairly rainy night and the quicksand is quite abuzz with life. At one table a Thaumaturge Lalafell sat sharing a drink with his Flame highlander and keeper adventurer friends. "I swear my job is hard enough as it is." Papapara Dodopara said with a scowl his mustache twitching back and forth to give the appearance he was dusting his upper lip off with it. "Whatever do you mean?" The highlander asked Papapara. "Just the fact that in addition to cleaning up all those damn bodies I also have to spend my days listening to all these ghost stories that people keep cooking up." Papapara scowled with an exasperated huff. "Honestly!" "Ghost stories?" The keeper asked looking to Papapara with his ears perking, the flame also gave a look of interest. "Several people have come to tell me about how they saw some scary looking keeper stalking them in the dead of the night, then when they try to get a good look at the person the person has completely vanished." He said tipping back his mug again. "Or the one about people seeing skeletal decayed wolves about with purple flames, that one let me tell you has been plenty of a headache. Superiors making me investigate it on account of the possibility of it being void related." The highlander nodded his head. "You know it may be unrelated but there have been recent disappearances of folks being reported, mostly completely unexplained. Though some say they seen some savage looking keeper in the area before the people up and vanished. Problem is we've never found anyone matching the description of said keeper or any trace of them. Only that folks seen them in the area on the day the person vanished. Few of the blades have reported something similar happening right here in the city." "Bah it's probably just a bunch of keepers doing what they usually do and poaching, Allric." He said to the highlander before looking to the keeper. "No offense, Kiht'a." "Uh none taken?" The keeper said rubbing his neck with a look of being unsure how he felt. "I suppose I will make note of that and add it to my official report before I send it to Rorokubi." Papapara said with a heavy sigh shaking his head. "The report those adventurers gave did mention a keeper, though I am loathe to trust the words of anything an adventurer has to say, they're all idiots...no offense Kiht'a." "Uh none taken?" Khit'a said again, his ears wilting as if he was too scared to stand up for himself. "I'll see you both later then." Papapara said standing to his feet heading out the door before looking back. "Allric if you could pick up the tab that would be swell."

  6. In the wake of the liberation of Ala Mihgo there is cause for much celebration and much more to be done to rebuild. However the Garleans were not the only evil in the lands. Now in the far reaches of Gyr Abania something sinister is rearing its ugly head. This is a plot that uses the fate-14 rule set, an approved sheet is required. Fate-14 master post IC-Thread This will make use of the turn system described below. Event A Taking the badger home Date and time: Feb 22nd, 8 pm est. Event C 03/03 9pm est Bring back our dead The graveyard in camp drybone has been having a string of regular grave robberies. We have been unsuccessful at finding any suspects. Witnesses state they have seen strange figures at night, however they vanish before anyone can reach them, the only sign of them a dug up grave with the body missing We are requesting the aid of adventurers to see if they can have better luck in catching the culprit. Available slots 1. 2. 3. 4. PC turns 20/20 NPC turns 18/20 Common rumors It had come to light that S'krat's tribe is located near the location of where the units vanished. The seeker was interrogated but he didn't seem to provide any sort of satisfactory answer. Muttering about superstitions and bad juju. He's definitely hiding something, shame the higher ups want the runt taken back to his tribe.
  7. The Umbral Warlord S’imba took in several deep breaths clutching a deep slash across his chest. Looking down on the white haired female he had just defeated in a sparring match of the falling stars. From what he understood normally the other warlords of the falling stars didn’t spar due to the possibility of being defeated. However S’imba felt that as an outsider he needed to continually prove himself. To remind them why X’zarann had chosen him to be the warlord of the golden prints. He also sought to stand out among them. Though it did tend to mean he ended up with quite a few extra injuries, and the battles were never easy. Suddenly there was a loud shout at the door to their warehouse. It sounded hostile. With a growl S’imba walked over to the entrance and pulled the door back. Outside there was a little Lalafell Thaumaturge with a pencil thin mustache with a pair of Roe thugs that had their swords drawn. “Ah greetings, Mongoloidian Tribal.” The Thaumaturge said in a surprisingly smooth voice that had an extremely matter of fact business like tone to it. “We represent a group of concerned citizens that have taken issue with your residence here. We ask that you surrender yourselves to the proper authorities concerning your various criminal activities.” “You must be mistaken.” S’imba growled at the Lalafell, clutching the wound on his chest. “We’re just a band of strays that have sought refuge to raise our young.” The lalafell gave a sneer. “Regardless you are all a blight on our fair city, and it falls to me to see it cleansed.” S’imba narrowed his eyes, baring his fangs. Acting slightly more aggressive than normal to keep up his appearances as the rest of the golden prints watched the scene unfold. “I think you would be wise to turn and walk the other way, outsider.” He said with a growl. “Unless you wish to have your very soul torn from your body to burn for an eternity in the depths of the abyss.” The Lalafell grinned. “Do not try to intimidate me with your tribal superstitions, cat. I am no stranger to dabbling in darkness.” S’imba twisted his lips into a sneer, putting on the best show he could. Trying to appear as dark and over the top edgy as he could. “Cute, but you should know that -I- am darkness itself, I wield power that you could merely dream of.” The lalafell sighed and gestured to the Roe on either side of him. “Kill him then seal the door so I can burn this eyesore and the vermin inside to the ground.” The Roe nodded and took a step towards S’imba. They drew their swords and continued advancing. “So you have elected destruction and damnation?” S’imba said with a shake of his head, flicks his wrists, and raised his palm towards them. Without another word he fired a red bolt at them that exploded in a burst of red aether, ripping the aether from their bodies and causing both to fall lifeless to the ground. The Lalafell stared in horror as his men fell. Losing his composure he simply turned to flee as fast as he could. S’imba was tempted to finish him but decided against it. Turning to walk back inside he without a word to the others he made his way to a back office that he had fashioned into a sort of personal chamber for himself. He’d filled it with various trophies from his adventures to at least try and look the part of warlord. While it certainly wasn’t as extravagant as the Nunh’s personal chambers S’imba couldn’t help feel a bit proud of it. Even if most of it was just stupid junk and a bunch of fancy swords he had collected. He shut the door behind himself and gave a sigh. This whole act tended to be exhausting, spending so much time trying to be this terrifying being. Thankfully all that time he had spent with Sven gave him plenty of intimidating dialogue to draw on. Mixed with trying to emulate X’zarann he felt he hoped he was at least having some success. He spent much of his time acting like he was some kind of deity like X’zarann, that this “abyss” he wielded was a power that was the opposite of the Nunh’s radiance. If he could get them to see him as some sort of dark god of destruction maybe they would stop worshipping X’zarann to offer their prayers to the new deity. Hopefully to weaken X’zarann from making his ascension. Since S’imba had no intention of using their prayers to gain power he felt he didn’t have to worry if the sept actually started worshiping him, they may as well pray to a statue of Halone. He walked over and grabbed some bandaging, starting to treat his wounds and gave a heavy sigh. “It’s really hard to try and be a god.” He muttered to himself.
  8. Ultimately I think it comes down to the dark knight's personal convictions and morals. What their darkness is telling them and how they handle it. The philosophy behind the dark knight is to bring justice to those who the law will not touch. They tend to teach hold loyalties to no one. That last part kind of comes down to personal interpretation to me. Which can be anywhere from I am only looking out for myself to I'll serve under you and recognize you as long as you are just. If they find someone to stand behind with a cause that supports a dark knight's convictions they could possibly be willing to serve them.
  9. Personally I don't see the server getting unlocked for a good while. If the server is stable enough they won't have any reason to take further action. Though I think I heard they're going to add more incentive. Hopefully they don't split the server. I really think that would be something that would cause major problems. Groups getting split up type things. As far as lack of new blood goes I feel both ways. We've got a lot of people and contacts to make. Though that can sometimes be easier said than done. On the other hand there is a chance that things will die off. Especially when Mateus becomes more and more active. More and more people will continue to jump ship looking for greener pastures.
  10. Well it really sucks you had so much negativity, and I admit there's a good amount of toxic people out there, but they're are still usually in the minority. You're probably not likely to find much deep rp in the quicksand. It happens but it's not common. Events can help make connections. Best way to make meaningful connections I've found is just to be active on the forums here. Getting into a discord is always helpful. Having a way to advertise your character is good too cause it can give people hooks. As for the race problems. I can imagine Roe do get people wanting to fight them a lot cause people want to prove how tough their characters are. Simb'a tries fighting Xaela cause he wants to prove himself every bit as good as these so called ferocious warriors. Lalafell I know do get a bad rap and have a lot of struggles with a lot of negative stigma. Though I do love rping with them when they're done as a serious character cause they are just interesting to me. But yeah if you've unsubscribed this is probably moot, but if you ever do give it another shot just some things I've discovered.
  11. Yeah while weaknesses are great and all something that kills a scene fast is a character who is so helpless that most of the scene becomes protecting them. Another one to be careful with in my opinion is the emotionally fragile to the point they break down and cry whenever anything goes wrong. Which tends to lead to the emotional crisis dominating the scene. But yeah both of those types of characters tend to lose my interest fast since they tend to lack character except for weaknesses. I find it ok at first but if there isn't really any character development going into overcoming those weaknesses it just gets feeling repetitive.
