All in all, no matter what you do or don't do, mature themes, ERP, whatever it may be...the key is really respect and communication. Talk about what makes you comfortable, and respect people's decisions. It really should be the golden rule anyway.

THIS. So much this. If you've ever seen that post going around on Tumblr about toxic RPers, I find that they use this as a medium for their manipulation. I'm going to say it again, if you don't want to do it, STICK TO YOUR GUNS. Do not let anyone try to convince you to go past your comfort zone. If someone does, you don't need to RP with them. Period. If they can't respect you enough to hold to your hard lines, they don't respect you in other aspects, and you shouldn't be getting that close to them. Because let's be serious, your RP partners are people that you get close to. As an addendum, if any of you are going through something like this and want to talk about it, my PM box is always open. I'm happy to talk about the situation and what you can do about it. I was in a situation like this myself recently, and I know how it feels.

I'm a big fan of communication and working through the ERP options as well. I see ERP as just another side of RP. You have people who enjoy all different styles of RP. That encompasses this aspect of it as well. The thing that I think is most important is being courteous to your partner. If you have an RP partner with a firm line that says, "I want to fade," then fade. Don't keep pushing it further and further until you've gotten them to the point of no return. Don't make them feel guilty because of their choices. Ask if they're willing to discuss what went on between the characters if it's important to development. Try to understand their circumstances. If you run into people that do ERP, do not shame them for that. If it doesn't float your boat, you don't have to engage in it. But people who do engage in ERP are not inherently bad, as some posts on the RPC will lead you to believe. I believe that it is just another facet to RP, and it can lead to deeper story and plot, just like anything else. I suppose it all boils down to the main rule of don't be a dick. Seriously. We all have our own limits and boundaries. Respect each other and each other's limits. Be nice to people. If we can all do that, the community would be a much better place.

I think that this tends to happen a lot in RP. I have some friends who are fantastic at being flowery but with a purpose. Their characters are haughty and educated and it fits with the way that they write. But I also know people who try to emulate that style because they feel that writing too straightforward is frowned upon. I'd like to say that I'm one of those people who appreciates a little bit of both, but I'd rather be engaged in what we're doing than wait for the other person to go and use a thesaurus to see how many different ways they can describe the color of their hair, skin, eyes, their lips, etc. Being verbose can be a good thing, but if it's not something that comes easily, don't focus on it!

There has been so much to do and not enough time to do it in. I was away last weekend with Khale, and it was a lovely break from the dryness of the paperwork around the house, but it’s time I got back on track and began focusing on what needs to be done. I need to contact the client and set up the time for our party for him. I fear that I’ve been later than I said I would be, and that is troubling. I need to talk to Zanin about Tayn. Tayn really needs to go see him, if what he’s carrying with him is anything like that which I was carrying. Twelve, I don’t know how much longer he can hold on. He has moments of lucidity where he’s not driven mad by rage, but in those moments…I fear that Tayn will lash out and hurt someone. And if he were to hurt Lily or someone else that I love, I fear that I would not be able to contain myself. I need to go to the goldsmith’s with Khale and pick out rings. Although, really, this is just something I need to do for fun. I don’t need a fancy ring, I just need to be with him. I need to find time to be with the members of the company, and work to creating a workplace that is both profitable and enjoyable to be in. There is so much to do…

There’s someone at the Quicksand looking for a hyuran male, 6 fulms tall, likely to be disguised in a hooded robe. Apparently he’s an outlaw wanted for the grand companies for trying to incite a rebellion. Perhaps we could look into this? Or be on the lookout for this man. Mentioned something about him talking with the Amaljaa…perhaps that’s where the rebellion is coming from? It’s really the only interesting thing going on in the Quicksand this morning. Other than that, the room is eerily quiet. The house was just as quiet as well. I wonder how Tayn is doing….I really need to speak with him about what is going on. If Zanin and Lionnellais could help him as well… I’ve been trying to think about the wedding, and it’s a lot to coordinate. I just think I want it to be a small ceremony with the members of the company and maybe a few other friends. Kass. Maybe U’anzu, if I can track him down. Makyn? Nako’li? I don’t know who else I’d invite. I do need to contact Lini. She should meet Khale properly before we tie the knot. I think she’ll like him.

Someone who makes my time RPing with them enjoyable. It could depend on what mood I'm in. Sometimes it's someone who doesn't mind doing something goofy. Sometimes it's someone that makes me have a lot of feels. Someone who is quick, but if they're not quick, someone who makes rich posts. I'm willing to compromise time if I feel like you're enriching the experience. Someone I can talk to OOCly about what is going on ICly and not feel like I'm being a pain. I'm a communicator. I like to talk out what is going on. I'm sure I have more, but it's lunch time. I'll type more later.

Okay, so I have posted my IC ad in the IC forum, but I still haven't gotten any hits, so I figure I'll post it here too. My FC, Jutat De, is an investigative FC who will help find anything that needs to be found. Seriously, anything. RIght now, we've got a small job helping someone find his confidence. We're not picky. We would love to have some cross FC RP, or even small storyline RP. If you are looking for something, PLEASE let us know. RIght now, RP is kinda in limbo, and we need some company story to get us going! If you have any questions, feel free to ask away!

Yes to Wildstar housing. There was so much freedom there, and everyone had the opportunity. It was awesome. And yes to being able to mail stuff, or having a shared bank. They dropped the ball on that.

Ugh. Why do they give me spring break and then make me go back to work!? It's not fair!! I just want it to be summer break already!!

Well, it wasn't really today, but I'll share it anyway, 'cause it makes me happy. So, on Thursday, I went to the OB for the first time. Yep. I'm producing another generation of RPer, and I got to see it and see the heartbeat and everything. And then Saturday, I stood up in my best friend's wedding. I was his "best woman, aside from the bride." And my speech went well. So yay.

This is a nice way to bridge the gap between the two communities of tumblr and the RPC. If any of you are into tumblr, feel free to make an event posting and poke Fai or myself and we'll post it up there for ya. Or you can just submit it on the submit page, and we'll post it that way as well! ^^

I'd probably enjoy bandying back and forth with her, but she might get on my nerves with how gushy she is around Khale. I'd deal though, because I'm a good friend. lol
