  1. They're around Limsa, as well, and there's the one in Ul'dah that's a part of the GLA quest line. Seekers may be more prominent, sure, but it's clear to me that tradition is slowly becoming a way of the past in Miqo'te culture. I think that has way more to do with casual racism based off of a disgusting, harmful and misogynistic 'relationship' (if one can even call it that) than anything else. Anyway, as Aysun said, not really the place and total up to player interpretation.
  2. I don't see evidence of this in regards to Moon Keepers whatsoever given that their presence is so culturally scattered throughout the game world. Granted, there's a general lack of information for or against, but based on what we have? I'm inclined to disagree.
  3. Should have waited until we were looking at each other. Would have been way cuter. :3
  4. Vetiver shares a name and a few personality traits with her Guild Wars 2 counterpart, but that's about it. Too much more and I think it ends up being a disservice to the respective game world and the roleplayers around you, you know?
  5. Good advice all around. Seen and/or been a victim of all of these, unfortunately. (finally linked back, btw, hope you don't mind!)
  6. It really isn't... ? Society treats us poorly, thus our roleplay becomes an escape where these things no longer apply inside the circle. If anything, it should be obvious.
  7. Oh dear, where to even start... Vetiver loves to feel, to touch, to be close to those she loves cares about. Sharing an emotional and physical bond with someone is a gift to be treasured and she thrives off that mutual affection to its fullest extent. On the other hand, Vetiver is terribly afraid of commitment, particularly of the monogamous sort. She's already lost someone close once and still struggles with it irregardless of the emotional cushion she's built for herself. To lose someone again, much less now? Too much too soon.
  8. An older one, but it's probably the best I've got of these two:
  9. Think I may have to link back to this in my Services thread so people better understand, or at least know what to actually expect.
  10. Lots of cliche silliness in the GW2 community indeed. I would imagine part of it is that this is such a hard concept to pull off when roleplaying is heavily reliant on verbal communication. That's not to say it can't be done, just that there's going to be a struggle no matter what.
  11. All I got out of this is that you care more for appearance than you do personality and actions. That's fine and all, but please don't speak for others on the subject; itt's condescending at best. The bottom line is that a character can be both feminine and tough. One need not resort to an androgynous stereotype dripping with tokenism to make the point. (and for the record, both of those portrayals paint the picture of someone that's strong and competent, irregardless of aesthetics so *shrug*)
  12. I can definitely vouch for Zetchryn; fantastic roleplayer with a beautiful, three-dimensional character. I have a hard time picturing anyone being disappointed by having them in their RP circle.
  13. Who's forcing you into that role other than yourself? It's about how a character acts, not how they appear that defines them in that way. Looks can be incredibly deceiving, or so the cliche goes. Anyway, I am a lady and personally? I love the Au Ra women, enough so that there is high probability I will be making one the moment Heavensward is in my hands. What she'll be exactly I cannot say, but I do know that as with all my characters, she won't be a delicate pushover in the slightest, rest assured.
  14. I'm so glad you and A'zireena had a good time. <3 Put a smile on my face to see that. Interesting enough to come say hi in-game? :3
  15. If she's got the personality to match, yes. :3 I'll be on this afternoon/evening for sure. I'm CST for timezone reference. No worries! Send me a /tell when you can. Mmm, about that... I've kind of been known to make exceptions, I just haven't gotten around to updating my initial post. >_>
  16. Feel free to send me invite when I'm on, this sounds exactly like the kind of resource I could use given my non-schedule.
  17. Anything but a pouting Lala face. ;~; I'd love to say yes because they really are adorable, but those proportions + prospects of romance makes me a little uncomfortable irregardless of their actual age. Then again, 'companionship' can mean a lot of different things depending on who you ask and I did choose that word because of that ambiguity, so *shrug*. Could always let me know what you're looking for in-game?
  18. You're sick and tired of it, that lingering sense of romantic longing. Perhaps you're shy or maybe you don't wish to burden another with your emotional struggles; whatever the case may be, its wearing you thinner by the day with no end in sight. That's when they appear to you, that Moon Keeper with the white hair, cherry blossom highlights, an intoxicating blend of citrus, flora, vanilla and sandalwood clinging to her presence. Standing strong and confident two-to-three ilm away, she offers you a business card, tucked neatly between the middle and index off her right hand. You take it into your own. Not like you could resist that subtle grin even if you wanted to, much less those night flower eyes piercing through your every thought. The card itself? Understated, yet all too effective: 'Open Your Heart: Companionship Services by Vetiver Chastain', penned in a black cursive, offset by a tinge of pink and a linkpearl pinned conspicuously to the upper left corner. It takes a moment for it to sink in, but when it does, she's already gone, your mind left racing with questions. Only one in particular surfaces, however: "could it really only be one call away?" --- Overview: Independently owned and operated by Vetiver Chastain, Open Your Heart offers genuine companionship to the lonely women of Eorzea, serving as a gentle respite from whatever may trouble their broken hearts. While this may sound similar to a relationship with a courtesan of sorts (and by all means, she is just that, a courtesan), my intention is to create something much more personal in comparison. What this is: Driven character development by someone willing to challenge your character in ways most people aren't willing to. What this isn't: An outlet for senseless ERP. Sex is inevitable given the theme, but I'd at least like for it to be justified in some way when it does happen. "What can Vetiver do for me, then?": Most anything, really! If you need any inspiration, however, here are a few examples of things she's done with her clients in the past:
  19. Initially started as a Hyur Midlander out of convention, race-changed to Moon Keeper Miqo'te because I found their lore (independent, fiercely matriarchal) much more suitable for my character. Same goes for how freakin' adorable they are.
  20. Threads like this really only help perpetuate a stigma that I have yet to actually see in-game. Even on the forums it's confined to what, one or two people? Just totally unnecessary imo, especially when these are questions any writer should be asking themselves in the first place. Hell, I show up in my Healer's Robes and Thyrus cane all the time and I've never once been given grief over it. Besides, it's not my fault CNJ/WHM gets the short end of the aesthetics stick outside of AF and the ST set which I just can't be bothered to try and get no matter how gorgeous it is because the 24-man stuff is just way, way too stressful for me.
  21. It's all about how you approach the lore and apply it to your character. None of the jobs are really exclusive in any way, just extensions of the base classes, or in some ways, their root. One just needs a little tact and decent writing skills to make it work in an approachable way for others.
  22. Still looking for people? Pretty sure Vetiver would get alone with most, if not all of your crew.
