It is, just the official term of Eorzea. Hence why a lot of times I just use the word 'marriage' as opposed to going through some long-winded method of working 'eternal bond' into my dialog.

balmung Need help with a one time event!
Gone. replied to Xenellia's topic in Chronicled Connections
I would looooove to help on Vetiver since she looks old enough for the part and is experienced in this sort of thing thanks to her business, but sadly she is a Keeper, not a Seeker. -
The IC/OOC boundary and how to approach it the SMILE way
Gone. replied to g0ne's topic in RP Discussion
It's also possible to be too disconnected, though, to the point that a character no longer feels like an actual person. There's nothing wrong with putting some of your first-world experience into a character; it helps give them life, believability. Sure, the line has to be drawn somewhere, but replacing an extreme with another extreme doesn't work, either. This same scenario can also lead to one of my biggest IC/OOC pet peeves, and that's shirking responsibility by using 'IC' as an excuse for landing on subjects that some are likely to take personally. Roleplay is not a legitimate excuse for being insensitive to those around you. -
Gilgamesh and Balmung are never accepting new characters
Gone. replied to CarlSwaygan's topic in RP Discussion
I did this for Vetiver just so I wouldn't be wasting any of my free month. I don't regret it, though I don't blame anyone for feeling this is an obtuse solution to a problem Square-Enix really needs to solve on their own. -
Gee this doesn't sound like Vetiver's specialty at all. ;3

You're all too nice to me. ;~; Thank you, though. Making note of this for future people as I already set something up with Ms. Savarah: Vetiver may be a high class city cat, but her mother was fiercely traditional. Anything to do with Moon Keeper culture, she'll understand and respect it. In-game is always the best option. My sign-in schedule is occasionally erratic, but we're bound to bump into each other eventually. c:

I throw in actions with the ears, tail and other minor cat-like mannerisms (i.e. "Vetiver rubs her cheek against the woman's, not unlike a cat.") to highlight certain expressions when it feels appropriate. I don't always do it, mind you, just when I feel it adds to what's already happening. No legit reason to deny any racial charms, especially when they're so dang cute. Another thing I do that most don't (at least I never see anyone doing it): Keeper eyes and complexion reflect their nocturnal tendencies and thus aren't going to take well to the sun at all. Vetiver practically begs for shade during the day, especially when in Thanalan or the more open areas in La Noscea. Oh, and on the subject of purring: I don't mind it in the slightest. I have a friend that does it as a response to intimate affection and it's friggin' adorable to me. Addendum (last one, promise!): Two more things -- Vetiver's ears are quite sensitive to touch and I have made at least one or two references that her uncanny ability of finding her friends is based off the enhanced sense of smell we're given by lore.

While there may have been a few that rejected this character for their outward appearance, I'm actually going to say that it was more likely that a character such as this simply isn't pleasant to be around in the slightest. A lot of roleplayers are a. female and/or b. fall somewhere in the LGBT spectrum and thus get enough of this regressive crap in real life to not want it in their game. Not saying everything has to always be sunshine and rainbows, but some things hit too close for home at times.

You're too kind to me. You really, really are. I would definitely be interested in this. It's a relationship I haven't RPed before and I'd love to give it a go. They wouldn't be the first to come to Vetiver with advice. Feel free to hit me up on either of these characters, I'd love to have a chat with them.

balmung [P'etra Heartley] [Wanted: All kinds of Med-Heavy roleplay]
Gone. replied to nekoneku's topic in Chronicled Connections
Vetiver would definitely like to hug it all better for sure, though Chrys and Lili would probably personally relate better. Either way, consider me interested; I'm just a /tell away. -
balmung [Amelia Ashford] Spunky Gladiator Seeking Bard Mentor!
Gone. replied to Bopdoot's topic in Chronicled Connections
*raises hand* Vetiver is gifted in both archery and instrumental music. Also has a knack for making sheltered girls blush. :3 Feel free to poke me in-game when I'm on! I'd be interested for sure. -

I get the feeling Vetiver would really, really like this Miqo'te of yours. :3 -
Just rolled a new character at 06:00 CST. :3

Feel free to put me on the list, as well. You can find me in-game throughout most of the week. :3

My character has mastered WHM/BLM/SMN/SCH! Come at me, bro.
Gone. replied to WiredBones's topic in RP Discussion
I don't believe there's anything wrong with roleplaying out one's multi-classing so long as its done within reason i.e. pulling a sue by being a literal master of everything. Merging white and black magic? Also a pretty big no-no, at least until the previously hinted lore surfaces. My beloved Vetiver happens to be a White Mage at heart (studied with a Padjal that passed her crystal on in death, etc.), though it's exceedingly rare that she's expressed it in any public way; only two of her companions even know of her history with this to-date, and that's two months of moderate-heavy RP. She also happens to be a musically-inclined archer, though I wouldn't consider her a bard by any means, either. They just happen to be interests that can be practically applied to what she does on a day-to-day basis. I guess when it comes down to it, it's all about balance and tact. That's really the best advice I can give. -
Didn't think I'd be back here so soon, but confessions on the beach make for lovely screenshots:

balmung Emergency! Dancers and bards needed!
Gone. replied to Lilira Lira's topic in Chronicled Connections
Vetiver could possibly play harp or even piano if one is present depending on how much you're asking out of it. -
Bumping up with something that a friend brought up worth mentioning: if you happen to be eternally bonded with someone but would still like to partake in Vetiver's services, then please don't worry and feel as if you shouldn't; confidentiality is very important to me on both an IC and OOC level so your secrets are safe with me.

Vetiver would probably have fun with Senah, as well. At least if she doesn't mind a habitual flirt, anyway. ;3

balmung LF "Dark"/Mature Themed RP or FC? x_X
Gone. replied to Dia's topic in Chronicled Connections
(will avoid using the word 'mature' in this context because I don't really see how being evil makes one more mature by default buuuuut that's another discussion altogether) There are antagonistic characters out there, even antagonistic FCs, though unfortunately I can't think of any off the top of my head. Rest assured that I have seen them around, smaller in number as they might be. In regards to my own characters? Vetiver tends to see the good in people despite their perceived flaws. She'd have no reason to judge given a healthy amount of redeemability and I'm sure some would find her work... unsavory. Chrys would be less welcoming, though she's no saint by any means. Based around a Nicholas Winding Refn-inspired soft/hard dichotomy, she can be gentle towards those she cares about, but if you so much as lay a finger on them? Vengeful and brutally merciless with a past that fairs no better. Take that how you will.
