  1. list of fun couples activities: start a gang
  2. I've never liked elves in any MMO I've played, c@s have a lot of lore I don't care for, Roe was my first choice as in most MMOs I do play a big guy character, but I came to like Midlander's character creation options the most.
  3. I can't RP a robot well, the models obviously don't allow good-looking obvious robots and any "android" type lore is extremely iffy.
  4. I know most of Oskwell's close friends were pretty surprised when they first saw him pull off a jump. He's been so far-removed from his homeland that he's pretty much lost any air of nobility or attitude that would tip him off as a former knight of Ishgard. Most people can tell at a glance that he knows how to use a spear, but he normally comes off as way too inept to pose a serious threat. It's only when the chips are down and lives are at stake where he actually puts his experience to work. It's also the reason he tends not to do well at the Grindstone, or in any sparring environment, for that matter. He has trouble giving his all in any fight in which the outcome isn't life or death.
  5. That's where my mind goes when somebody discusses the anatomy of the comedy dwarf race at length, but if your problem with them is that they don't look "feminine" enough to play a convincing woman then I don't know what else it could be.
  6. I think the game is just fine without voluptuous or shapely lalafell, but that's me.
  7. Fantasias aren't canon, developers have said so. I like to leave it at that and disregard the countless excuses people think of for not listening to them. That being said, race-changing in Eorzea is too frequent not to achknowledge, but I refuse to let it be the center of my RP. Oskwell's attitude towards the whoe situation boils down to "Oh, you're an X now, huh?" and then next topic. I've yet to see any roleplay regarding race changing that was actually interesting, even though I've seen interesting characters do it. "Oh, look, I've got a tail/a dick/breasts/muscles/horns now!" has never screamed "MUST ROLEPLAY" to me.
  8. I seem to remember at least one or two offhand references about dragoons being able to understand dragonspeak, but I wouldn't know the source, most likely quest text from the 30-50 DRG stuff.
  9. Is it fine to RP the WoL? Sure. Could it be thought of as inconsiderate to roleplay such an exclusive/special role in walk-up and general public RP? Definitely. Nobody really cares about what people do in more private circles. Still, the simple fact is that running around the Quicksand dropping the fact that you're Hydaelyn's chosen/the Azure Dragoon/Minfilia's ex isn't gonna win you a whole lot of longtime roleplay partners. As for the lore-breaking bit, you could say that, by the same token, anybody who roleplays the WoL is doing so even when somebody else could also be roleplaying the WoL, thus contradicting the ingame lore that there's only one. I think breaking the lore that says you're the chosen one is far more acceptable than breaking the lore that says it's not possible for a seventeen year-old to be the Godsbow and Azure Dragoon at the same time.
  10. ^This. We've seen Hyur/Miqo'te/Elezen kids in-story and they look NOTHING like lalas, it would be like if I said a midlander male was a roegadyn child. Just takes whatever immersion I had and atomic-suplexes it.
  11. I only hug men, sorry. :'( That being said, do any hot cyclops dudes wanna hug it out?
  12. No offense, but I think you're looking for the wrong thing in the wrong place, here.
  13. I'll try to keep things short. For the next week, my character's going to be ICly wandering the forests of the Dravanian Forelands. Seeing as I've just begun a new chapter with this character, and I've come to realize there's far too many of you nice people that I haven't done the roleplayeth with, I'd like to get some RP set up out there.
  14. I have to wonder what Aymeric taking control of Ishgard means for the city's infrastructure as a whole. Is the Holy See or the Church as we know it dissolved completely? If Aymeric presumably revealed the truth behind the Dragonsong War to the populace, would the inquisition still be a thing, and if so would they still be looking for heretics, since the only dragons left are Nidhogg's mindless horde, and the heretics lead by Iceheart proper presumably disbanded?
  15. People like to use OOC level as a safeguard against bad level 3 edgemasters running up and trying to dominate their character, but I'm certain that 90% of the terrible "Hello, I can demolish a building with a single strike and control gravity" roleplayers are fifties, at least from what I encountered. Level's hardly a barrier to these people when you get into the really egregious stuff.
  16. You know, being a completely normal, non-demigod au ra would fit current lore quite well.
  17. I'm aware, but if she could make herself appear older, could she also make herself appear that she was older, but also had crab claws instead of hands?
  18. If Kan-e-Senna can change her phyiscal appearance as she pleases, could she theoretically change her normal human hands into a set of crab claws? A prompt response would be great, thanks.
  19. But... your character wasn't the one who fought any of those? Vishap is the only one that's possible, because pretty much anybody could have been at the Steps of Faith, but the WoL was the one who killed Nael and battled Midgardsormr at the wreck of Agrias. While this is correct, the warrior of light didn't do these things solo. Either way, Memenu's been 'in-dev' for ages, and I'm still trying to set things in concrete, so to speak, however, it's not as easy as I had originally thought, but has not deterred me. -edit- That's the thing, Faye; her follower's body, acting as vessel isn't strong enough for the rigor's she's faced. (this also makes a convenient plotpoint for the use of a Fantasia.) According to cutscenes, they did for Nael and Midgardsormr.
  20. But... your character wasn't the one who fought any of those? Vishap is the only one that's possible, because pretty much anybody could have been at the Steps of Faith, but the WoL was the one who killed Nael and battled Midgardsormr at the wreck of Agrias.
  21. NONE CAN STOP DOCTOR GREENTHUMB except for brave horizon, she stopped him pretty handily
  22. Coming from someone who has done majority of his non-event roleplay in the Quicksand, I'm fairly confident in saying this is a PEBKAC issue and not an RP one. This too.
  23. Wow. Uh... Well, after reading that thread, I realize that the person the player is talking about (in the second post onward, who called her character crazy) is, well, me. The gist of it is that I was sitting at an empty table in the Quicksand, not much RP going on, when this person approached me and started doing waitress RP at me. Completely fine, nothing wrong with waitress RP, so Oskwell orders a few drinks and it's all fine, but I notice that each time she leaves a table, she goes and emotes talking to various NPCs, but not actually emoting what they say to her (so it just looks like a one-sided conversation.) A kinda-strange way to approach roleplaying with NPCs, but I don't take it OOC, of course. This is where it gets weird, though. I don't know where this person got the idea I was OOCly or ICly questioning why they played a waitress, Oskwell hadn't said anything to her (before the Echo stuff, I'll explain that further in the post) other than idle small-talk and food/drink orders. The bolded part here is what I take issue with. Oskwell pretty clearly was watching her serve the tables, and saw her whisper to the man in the turban each time she left his, it was a purely IC thing, and in fact I was trying to give this person some support by maybe acknowledging their constant emoting at various NPCs in the room as well. Though the person at least is being truthful about what happened IC. After Oskwell confronts the waitress for behavior he feels is pretty shady, she claims that he possesses the Echo. Oskwell tries to explain to her that he looked right at her while she was whispering to the NPC, but she insists that he's got the Echo, so Oskwell decides it's a good time to bail and offhandedly mutters something about crazy Quicksand people on his way out. This is the part of their rant I just can't wrap my head around. Does this person not realize that OOC and IC are different things? Their logic for why Oskwell thought their character was crazy I just don't understand, how's it lazy? How's it cheap? Did this person think I was insulting their roleplay when my character called theirs crazy? Really, this whole rant strikes me as this person not being able to distinguish between IC and OOC, which I can at least partially forgive because they seem new to roleplay, I guess.
  24. I'd like to grab one of those slots, if possible.
