  1. Seeming I'm a sadistic person to my characters... 1) If the MSQ ends up being extremely dumb, somehow, I will have Ave die in childbirth. But that's only if the MSQ goes super terribly silly. 2) Committing suicide would still be an option, despite having a newborn (soon) but unlikely at this point. Avelyn has this twisted thing in her mind in that order to have the Fist of Rhalgr to be reborn, that the older generation needs to die out. To be reborn from the ashes and all that poetic nonsense. My original plan was to have her commit suicide in a ruined temple, but having another baby is making her second guess this. And Adun is amazing at guilt tripping her over this. Thankfully. You don't know how happy I am with her getting knocked up rofl, else it would have been byebye at Baelsar's Wall already. 3) Simply being murdered by Garleans. 4) If Stormblood allows it, she might be finally convinced to rebuild the Fist of Rhalgr and live her life out in a temple with her family. I'd be sad that I have to stop roleplaying her, but as much as a not-so-happy ending was planned for her, if it makes sense, I'm okay with it.
  2. Garlean daddy, purge the Resistance. No seriously, can bring for some good roleplay. I'm excited!
  3. I've tried to RP there... It wasn't something I'd enjoy I would wait and see if people go to a new server.
  4. I'm actually wondering if the Resistance fighter who came to warn the Scions might have told the remaining Resistance. There's nothing on that either I assume?
  5. You could check if the NPC in Ul'dah have been updated on their gossip chatbubbles. But I don't think we have any concrete lore on that (yet). It wouldn't surprise me though.
  6. Honestly, my best guess is because the devs wanted to reflect the colour of their soulstone into their weapons.
  7. Luna, you're exactly the issue what the OP is talking about. I'm not sure if you're willing to see this, or just completely and utterly ignorant to the fact what you're doing. You're just creating unnecessary hostility.
  8. I've seen that happen as well. Yes. What I don't get either? The few people who are helping these communities from Balmung are genuinely trying to be nice to them. They don't seem to have some grand saviour complex either. But alas. I guess we just can't play nice.
  9. Exactly what people said above! There's ways to make it work. Look at my own character. She's a part of a cult who got slaughtered in the past. How did I make it work? Well lore did tell us that there were more Fist of Rhalgr temples, so I made her an older woman, who grew up in one of these remote temples. That way she could still be believable on the skillset and knowledge she has. It wouldn't work with a younger character, given most Fist of Rhalgr were killed and no one really knows what's going on with them. Sometimes you just got to tweak and adjust your character a little bit to make it work. I mean, hell, you could always go "Oh my character is a conjurer and SUPER interested in White Magic" and make her a scholarly type who's trying to uncover more about that type of magic? Not that she will have access to it, but you can still play with the white mage concept to some degree! Chasing a concept can be very interesting as well. She doesn't have to be one, but she can still dream of becoming one!
  10. EU WoW servers want a word with you. We only had one roleplay server left in the end. Just because it worked on WoW US doesn't mean it will on FFXIV. To be fair, what FFXIV currently has in it's one locked and previously impossible to get onto without paying money server also is not working. There isn't really a middle option in this race. Yeah but a second server isn't magically going to establish itself either.
  11. Wait a couple of more weeks, and who knows they might give us more lore on Othard and the classes/jobs to be found there!

  13. Hey there! Balmung is sadly enough locked. Unless you have a character here already and willing to level it up (or wait for levelling/msq skip potions), you are out of luck unless they open up the server again. Mateus however the server to go now I believe! We have quite a few Courtesan FCs, so finding like minded people shouldn't be much of an issue. Some focus more on ERP, others on RP, other's on the aspect of being paid with legit gil for their time and services. So you might find one on Balmung what suits your tastes, when/if they allow transfers again. Best of luck!
  14. /breathes heavily Is this one of my Monk temple? Because it looks like it Japanese Article (Spoileros beware. Just the picture though. Unless you speak Japanese. Or you know. Do hilarious Google Translate on it.) Has new crafter gear shown off as well! http://game.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/news/1062737.html Example:
  15. I see you being super excited for Red Mage. But I'd honestly just wait a few more weeks and wait and see. Banking on it being a legit, widely accepted and widely taught job, given the lore surrounding black and white magic? It seems unlikely.
  16. Yeah, I get people being 'locked out'. I totally get that. But if I can get a handful of people enjoying that type of RP? I'm happy with that already, really. Doesn't need to be some huge ass hub to be successful. Hells, one of my best RP times was from me constantly being in Coerthas Central Highlanders pre-HW. The Observatorium also wasn't considered a noob friendly place, but eh, the Ishgardians and folk interested in RPing with Ishgardians would find a way to get there. I'm pretty sure it will be the same in SB. So I'm not too stressed about it. And all we did? Just RP there in the open, and people will come sooner or later. (that said I did notify people in several LSes about it, but that was about it.)
  17. If it helps, once SB is out I'm planning to run RP evenings at the Resistance hub(s) in Gyr Abania if possible (seeming we don't know how the MSQ will go after all, but I'm praying we at least keep one non Garlean raided Resistance hub. Or reclaim one in the MSQ).
  18. I mean, uh, I'd vote, but seeming Ave's a religious punch warpriestess, I'm not sure where to fit her in!
  19. With a bit of luck we will get an answer on that with SB coming out in a couple of weeks. But I believe sailing from Doma to Eorzea was weeks? I'm not sure though!
  20. While we don't know exactly the relationship between the remaining nobles and the other Ala Mhigans, just going to toss it out there that the King of Ruin only kept the nobles alive with no claim to the throne and those who actively supported his cause. If he had but an inkling that they might betray him? He ended up executing them. Sadly enough his wife and a group of nobles conspired against him to end his madness, who one of them ratted on the King. They all got executed, including his wife. This only fuelled his madness. The Corpse Brigade got forgiven though, by the younger generation of Ala Mhigans, but those who remember still despise them. But we don't know if that also applies to the nobles. There's one remaining noble who has a claim to the throne, that is the Monk trainer. However we are not sure if people know that he is such, seeming he never speaks of it. I think he is aware of it himself, seeming the lorebook speaks of something along the lines of him leaving the temple due to not wanting to ignore the plight of his people any more. But besides that? We haven't heard of noble Ala Mhigans NPCs at all. What brings me to... Ala Mhigans PCs, might hate the shit out of your character by default. Provided they know of the character's lineage. Either they might blame him for his family for being the King of Ruin's supporters, or failing to remove him. Not to say you know, children are meant to carry the sins of their forefathers, but you know, Ala Mhigans are a jaded group of people! Hopefully Stormblood will clear up more lore surrounding (surviving) Ala Mhigan nobles and the non-nobles. Also swearing yourself to one of the three Grand Companies is not going to do much. Ala Mhigans are (rightfully so) angered with everything in Eorzea to ignore and abuse them for over twenty odd years now. I believe Ilberd described Raubahn, as a bull without balls who had forgotten Ala Mhigo in favour for his comfortable life in Ul'dah, while you know, his people were out there suffering. While I cannot state that Ala Mhigans share that opinion with Ilberd, given the sway he had over the Resistance, it might be a common mindset. The later quests in the MSQ bring up the topic as well that the Ala Mhigans feel ignored and discarded ect. (Not to mention Ul'dahn nobles found it hilarious to sick exotic beasts on Little Ala Mhigo and bet on the outcome. Who knows they might even despise nobles even more so now, even if they are not from their own society. Raubahn did stop that though. But yeah.) In any case, I can suggest looking up Sounsyy's lore compilations and go read up on all the Ala Mhigan related things.
  21. Weird. I keep thinking that I've definitely seen that symbol somewhere, but now I'm wondering if it's a false memory. Nah, just in trailers and teasers so far. My guess is that is symbolises the first Ala Mhigans, the ones who followed the meteor 'send my Rhalgr' which ended up leading them into Gyr Abania. Given you know, it looks like a path and meteor! So yeah, that's my guess. Seeming the Ala Mhigan flag might have some painful memories for a lot of Ala Mhigans, due to it being tied in with the Fist of Rhalgr and the King of Ruin. They might have chosen to drop the flag symbolising that past and instead opted for a new one, back to what they once were before the King of Ruin (and possibly religious oppression) became a thing. Time will tell no doubt! It probably is Resistance related. But that's my best guess currently.
  22. I'm still of the opinion they should actually give new players one of these level and MSQ skip potions by default. Leave the choice to them whether they want to use it or not.
  23. Same. It's frustrating knowing there are a number of people like that on any server. I think every server needs a healthy percentage of all types of players. What percentage is "healthy" however, differs from one server to the next, usually dependent upon the goals of the community as a whole. Kicking the PVEers from a server like Balmung would have so much backlash. How many angry players would try to come back to Balmung as "RPers" simply to grief to no end out of spite? Enough to potentially ruin it for a lot of people. Would be asburd on so many levels to kick PvEers. I knew a lot of PvE focused people back on WoW. They simply liked everything around roleplay; the stories, the immersed names, the art ect. But just weren't interested in roleplaying themselves. They did like hearing about it ect. One person even claimed he preferred RP servers due to the fact people tend to be a bit older and all that. They were really good for server economy on top of that!
  24. Damn, had hoped to have a potion for just 3.0 till ending of HW OH WELL, still! Guess I will just grab levelling potion on my alt and bash my head trough remaining HW content
  25. Given that WoW seems to have completely failed in enforcing that, I severely doubt SE would be able to. I'd rather stay on a server with my friends where I can speak freely if wanted. They actually do throw the ban hammer quite hard on people who harassed roleplayers. Only places it was questionable was RP-PvP server due to you technically signing up for PvP as well. If only they were consistent on that.... We watched Earthen Ring fall apart due to fallout from in game harassment by both roleplayers and otherwise. Including hostile takeover of in game channels, infiltrating guilds to look the guild bank, and the like. I have seen more anti-harassment action on FFXIV in the last year then I have over a decade of playing on WoW. They're usually pretty prompt in response too from personal experience, especially if sexual harassment or hate speech gets thrown around as long as you're civil with the report. Idk but I had even once a GM coming up to my Blood Knight IC as a guard to tell the 'nuisances' had been dealt with by the city guards, when I reported someone for griefing RPers :< That was pretty cool.
