Hey guys, I'm sorry I couldn't get back in time. Some things came up IRL, so I suppose that's karma for not being better prepared in advance... I'm really sorry.

It could likely still be in the evening just fine, but not too late? Only because maintenance is apparently scheduled from 8pm to 2am Pacific time. That in mind, what do you think would be a good time for something like this?

I know it's actually very, very last minute to bring up, but I didn't see anyone else bringing it up? With the anniversary of Dalamud falling being tomorrow (OOCly at least), do you guys think any kind of event/gathering might be fun? A memorial service? Something of that nature. I've been hearing/seeing complaints of the lack of togetherness in general lately and, though I have an event or two I will be setting up in the future, I thought maybe this would be a good excuse for it. So I wanted to post this interest check about it. Again, I apologize for the last minute nature of the idea, but I guess it didn't really dawn on me until just now. For those who are interested and can make it and such, what would be good times? (Please list your timezone too)

OKAY SO. I really need to come out of my shell and post on here more often, but here is my primary proposal...thing for this. I've been wanting to get Ophelia and her RP start off the ground for a while, so I sort of just leveled her up a lot until I could access most places people seem to be using for locations. Now that she's 30 and just about a Black Mage, I think the time is right! ANYWAYS. There are a couple ways I was hoping I could make connections through her. I put it in spoilers 'cause it got just a bit long and I think I just started rambling. But yes. I was just hoping to get her involved with more people. I'd really like to RP her and have fun.

The way I've learned is to sort of follow the golden rule of "don't be a dick." I know most people don't have any problems with nobility in your character so long as it's sort of just...logical and not all god-moddy, if that makes sense? If your character has some wealth or title, that's probably okay. But I don't think it's generally approved of if you try to be the long lost son of Gaius and you own the deeds to half of Eorzea. Using my own character as an example (though it isn't up anymore, as I'm adjusting the writing on the wiki), Ophelia is technically a noble. Her family's status and wealth come from their hand in the fishing markets in Limsa. They aren't the richest-of-the-rich and don't have any extreme ties or control of anything, but around Limsa at the very least, her namesake might get her some favors.

I have a character who's taken up dancing and otherwise songstress-shenanigry in her life, though she hasn't officially preformed anywhere. It might be fun to get her involved in this as some sort of official debut? She also currently owns a teashop and, gil wise, lives a fairly comfortable lifestyle. I'd imagine she'd be more than happy to sponsor! (I am on Balmung and her name is Ophelia De'winter in game. Wiki here! )

So, I'd be really interested in this! But my character is not exactly along the same lines as yours all seem to be. Currently he does his absolute best to hide that he was at any point working with the Garleans, and managed to go MIA/AWOL. While I wasn't really sure if he, out of what seems like a significant amount of people in this army, would necessarily be noticed as a traitor or that he's even gone, I'd kept thinking it might be fun if he was someone who was sought after for his 'crimes' against the Empire. (I will say, I haven't finished the main storyline, but I do not mind spoilers personally.) I'm totally open to suggestions, as well. His wiki is a little vague on the subject while it (his past) is under construction.

Disclaimer: My information mostly comes from observation and just general pondering, not first hand experience! When I watch my shells RP with each other regarding the mounts, it's become kind of varied. The consensus that I've generally seen is that it is possible to have a unicorn or ceourl, but that they're uncommon. (A few people often RPed as if non-RPers were included in RP, and would therefore assume there were suddenly thousands of each mount out of nowhere). As far as how I haven't quite seen just one set way. I had sort of assumed that Conjurer/White Mages would get their unicorns via the Fane or some such, since it seems to literally be job specific. Ceourls, though, I imagined it might be something like trying to have a pet tiger in the real world. You'd likely have to have been raising one since childhood and domesticate it, but even so, natural instinct might come back to bite you in the butt. That being said! I don't think anyone's got any set rules yet on how the new mounts are being obtained. I think using your imagination is key on it, but not to be illogical about it. (IE: You randomly had a Pocahontas moment and BAM insta-ceourl pet. That would seem a little silly, I think.)

Hello all! I wanted to bring up a tiny discussion, only because I was working on some mini plot-esque things that I want to roll out, but I want to sort of recruit people into it by means of the forum. While I don't really have a problem with this, I am worried about metagaming. I haven't actually seen it myself in this community, but the sheer amount I've dealt with in the past from other RP communities leaves me (hopefully) understandably paranoid. Part of me wants to say it might be inevitable, really, and that I should just suck it up and try to roll with it. Which is what I've had to do in the past. But then the other part of me is just kind of like "no that is bullshit and I shouldn't have to deal with such behavior." Suggestions? Advice? It's not really a *huge* plot or anything. It's more like... making waves and getting people involved, just giving people a sort of small story to roll with should they be feeling a little un-included elsewhere.

Basically, I wanted to ask advice on this because I've never been good at orchestrating these sorts of things in any form of roleplaying I've ever taken part of. I mean..I know the general rule is 'don't be a dick', but I suppose my hangup is that technically it would be centered around a character I control? Not TOTALLY but..sort of. Mostly. I think. I keep feeling like that isn't okay. I don't really want to create some huge all encompassing arc at all, for the record. Just...small things to get some waves going, I guess, so something interesting is going on. Some good story, y'know?

The voice I liked a lot was in Beta, but I noticed it's not there anymore. It was a female Miqote voice and I loved it specifically because her /laugh emote like was this crazy cackle and she just threw her head back like she'd gone completely mad. As for which ones I'm actually using. I believe I use #2 on K'aworu, and #7 for Venalis. Both male miqote. Still making Ophelia.

Originally, yes. That was my issue, he was so painfully shy that he didn't talk to anyone. But once he hung out with Aysun a bit more, that's lightened up a bit, but he still sort of behaves awkwardly, depending on who he's talking to. In the RP pearl I'm part of, he's varied from being calm and open, to sort of jittery (though this is attributed to some things besides "just being awkward"). BUT YES. I've tried working myself (at a reasonable/logical pace for the character) up to the point where he's a little more manageable on the social front.
