  1. Unfortunately the only way to get through this is enter a clique yourself... My group has very good ways to introduce new characters in the plot and to make them relevant, but sadly we are not what you're looking for, as we mostly preplan stuff through OOC chat/website. As everyone has said, best you can do is keep trying till you find your own group.
  2. Using the exactly same model saved in the benchmark on an alt account...
  3. o_O yeah, the wiki menus are overlapping on it even to me...
  4. Personally when I go to RP in the Quicksands, I invite to PT who I RP with and RP in /party, using /say only for things that I think my character would say loud enough to be overheard by those nearby. After all, when you walk into a bar IRL you don't hear everything people say at their tables, no? I'd recommend more people to do this, but then there's the "but I want others to know I'm RPing so they can approach!" argument. Which brings me back to the daaaamned "IC/RPing" status icon to show next to our name over our heads I've been asking to the Devs for a year now. We need that thing ; ;!
  5. I have posted a few of the lines before. Can you elaborate as to what parts you think were edited to seem as if they fit 2.55? I have recently done DRG quests on an alt (I've done them on my main back in 2014), and I haven't noticed any difference in the dialogues. Maybe they change if you unlock drg AFTER completing 2.55, but they certainly haven't modified it for those that haven't seen the end of 2.55 yet.
  6. If the races design is truly profit-driven, and as such strongly based on demand, are we to imagine the next one will be Viera? People have been crying for it since that very first misfortunately worded poll back in 1.0...
  7. Really, the best way to make happy both those who wanted short females and feminine males (like me) and those who want rough horned women and tall Au Ra men would've been to make two physically different clans, with different emotes and customizations. I'm still annoyed that only Hyurs got that candy. You'd think that in two years they could've designed two clans separated by something more than scale color.
  8. Going to paste here what I said in the first thread, since in there it was probably out of place, but here's my feedback on Au Ra CC: Overall rate: 6.9/10 My major peeve is that the difference between the two clans are pretty abysmal, so I will split my list of opinions on gender rather than on clan… General: - I am HIGHLY disappointed that faces and horns are tied together, with only four options at that, and absolutely no sliders whatsoever for horns. - I think scales should have been given a colour pallette, even a small one, with dark shades for the Xaela and light shades for the Raen. - I like that tails have different shapes, but I am horribly disappointed that we cannot change their colour. - Some hairstyles seem to give extra horns. It's something that bugs me because we can change hairstyle in-game. How are we going to explain the appearance/disappearance of new horns on our heads? - The limbal rings are very interesting. Happy they don't have odd-colouring. Four-color eyes would've been too much. - The "special features" (renamed 'scales' for Au Ra, even though it includes eyeliners…) category is again dependant on what face you select. It's something I was never fond of even with the previous races. - I really like their emotes. They are a lot more tranquil and serious, something we really needed after the overly vivacious spree most of races (I think, except Elezen) displayed in 2.0. Great fodder for serious/gloomy characters. Females: - Love the shortness. - Their dance emote is very sweet and elegant, it reflects them awesomely. - Their voices are mostly atrocious. They can't laugh, and their /no's are too vocal. Their /angry is scary <_< some make me think of harpies. - Their hairstyles are elaborated and interesting, though they all seem quite "fancy" and not quite how I'd do my hair for everyday activity. Males: - Their hairstyles are all freaking amazing. Perhaps too amazing, to the point the older hairstyles all look kind of "meh" on them, wasted. - Their voices are all very awesome. - Their dance….. what is that….? - Their idle stance is awful. - Their tails are a bit shorter in comparison to female's proportions. Myeh. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On a general note, some people seem unhappy the males are too tall or the females too short, but personally I think that is one of the scarce things this race has to offer that the other races do not have. I know I will be rolling a female Au Ra to finally RP a child that can look like a child and save me from all the flirting and hitting on that other characters seem to make me receive (seriously, I cannot RP checking the marketboard in a full Immortal Flames Set on an Elezen woman that someone will walk up to me and start talking about wanting to play with my bosom, ugh). That I dislike sexual-related RP is no mystery by now, and I see Au Ra girls' shortness as a brim of hope to get away from it. Last and not least, I'd love if whatever race came next had some feminine, short, anime-looking guys. This game still has none of that unless you appreciate chibiness and roll a Lala, which I do not. I'm talking about short height, long limbs, small shoulders (ALL our males have outrageously broad shoulders, excluding Lalas), big eyes, pointy chins. In short, anime boys. It would've been much more of a novelty than Au Ra are, even without scales and horns.
  9. An option to turn off the picture gallery from being displayed on the home page would be nice.... You know how I am towards a certain type of art content ....
  10. More dilly-dalling and benchmarking... potential adult Au Ra to accompany my child.
  11. I heard Thancred was possessed by Lahabrea. #wikileaks
  12. Yep, I agree! I do have plans for my Au Ra to follow the typical pattern of a clandestine immigrant in a new land. The struggle of the new language, the different landscape and weather (she's a Raen, and Limsa lacks mountain-like areas, so every city will likely have a new, hostile climate for her), the different culture... She will likely struggle to get a job (I'm going to RP several NPCs turning her request down out of distrust), and unless she finds a refuge, she will likely end up in the streets for a while. Very likely, she will seek the company of her own for a while, and be wary/shy to approach Eorzeans. I'm very excited by all these answers! I think this will make for a very realistic RP, just how I love it!
  13. Last Story is very fun and VERY pretty. It's basically every Final Fantasy trope wrapped into ball with an interesting fight mech added. It's still on my "need to finish" list but I'm close enough to the end to say it has a great story (and the towns are very cool and feel lived in). Yep, I am very hopeful that Last Story will bring back the good Final Fantasy! I am sad to see FF decline in quality, but sadly it has been this way to me since Squaresoft and Enix joined together. Hopefully Last Story will bring back its former glory, if only with a different name!
  14. More uncomfortable questions for the community! I guess I'm just in that mood. As I've pointed out a long time ago, I notice the majority of roleplayers tend to be very open to strangers and oddities, very friendly and trustful. That's not exactly how I get to strangers IRL, but eh, that's me... So on topic. What will your character's reaction be to the sudden swarming of Au Ras coming in June? Will they be excited? Will they be curious? Will they be happy? Or will they be afraid? Will they distrust them? Will they start complaining about all the Au Ras coming to Eorzea to steal our jobs? Will they begin plotting to make petitions to the Grand Leaders to put some controls on the borders to stop the immigration? I ask this especially to those who RP born and raised Gridanians, the game makes it very important for the Adventurer to learn how the city struggles to trust outsiders, and that they need to spend a long time with little to no help from the community before they are accepted (the moogle delivery quest with Miounne comes to mind)... And then there's of course the Ishgardians, paragons of xenophobic excellence. What will you do? Will you still be overly confident and trust the newcomers? Or will the dark fear for unknown sink its roots and feed you with racism and prejudice? I for one, have one of my characters being very religious, and the idea of a new civilization coming to Eorzea and claiming that everyone, including him, comes from two gods different than the Twelve, will certainly put him on guard against the Au Ra. I also am going to RP an Au Ra, and I'm gonna say... I'd love to receive some IC scorn and prejudice from the other races of Eorzea. When I rolled a duskwight, I was hoping to see some of that scorn the lore says Duskwights to be victims of because of their bad reputation in Gridania, but I could only find overly friendly and welcoming people in my RPs. It was a little disappointing on my end... I love to see my characters in bad situations. QUICK EDIT: By reaction to Au Ra, I don't really mean your character's reaction upon seeing one Au Ra for the first time, as much as their reaction in seeing so many of them enter our borders.
  15. Well, while it's true that there certainly are more full-blooded garleans in the world than Padjali, there certainly isn't more in Eorzea. Except for the important generals, the imperials we find in castrums all belong to the countries the Empire seized and conquered. And yes, I do know of how limited Padjali would be in terms of where they can go and what they can do. I Roleplayed an Immortal on FFXI (they were the profession behind Blue Mage job, the elite of the Empire in charge of protecting the Empress. In short, much like Sultansworn), and as that character I could not leave the imperial city. However, you also brought up an interesting point that I did not think about. This could be an easy route to RP a full-fledged White Mage and suffer no community scorn for doing so, since Padjali can use Succor. All in all, I am seeing even pro's and con's in this. I suppose it will ultimately fall on the roleplayer to decide which route is best. Thanks for sharing!
  16. Call center employees, all of them ._. ... And they'd all hate it.
  17. Thanks for the responses all, I was really curious to see how people would open to this idea. I mean, personally I don't have a problem. We already have people RPing full-blood Garleans, with third eye and all, and there's also people RPing Au Ra even though it isn't a playable race -just yet-, so I wondered how far from them Padjali were located in the community's mind. If anyone ever decides to give this a try, please lemme know how you do it and if you enjoy the experience, as well as how your RP is received by others!
  18. You've got to admit however than with the shorter height than any-but-lala race and the horns factor, a Au Ra girl will be much closer to a Padjal look than a midlander male or female could ever achieve. They're just too tall. (Also if I'm not mistaken, Face 1 can be ridden almost entirely of scales, and the rest could probably be covered with a robe, so tail aside, there definitely are ways to pull it off.)
  19. So... has the thought tickled anyone's mind yet? It just occurred randomly to me today while playing around with the character creator. I've always wanted to make a child character (not necessarily a Padjal, but definitely not a Lalafell, I don't like chibis >_< .... ), and I've finally achieved this by making an Au ra girl with both breast and height sliders to 0, plus face 2 and lastly the short emo haircut. I think there is no youngest look you could make than this. I'll be the proud RPer of a 14-16 years old Au Ra refugee! I cannot wait. But back to topic. I don't know if there is any gear that can erase the tail as of now (aside the UGH eventstar coat), but if there was.... is anyone out there tempted to use an Au Ra girl to RP a Padjal? Who would do it, and how/why? And who wouldn't do it? *raises hand, is more than happy with the Au Ra child* And if you stumbled on someone who was doing it, how would you react? Would you set Gridania on fire, or play along? Discuss, in a civil way!
  20. Who knows, maybe Kojima and his buddies will just do what the original Squaresoft team did and rebuild! After leaving Square Enix, Hironobu Sahaguki and the others of the good old Squaresoft team (FFI-FFX) rejoined together as Mistwalker, and have restarted over. It's sad that they had to leave Final Fantasy behind in the hands of their former rival (Enix, Dragon Quest team, of which Yoshida was a part of I reckon), but hey! It seems they have started a new series called Last Story. Last = Final Story = Fantasy I expect great things from it, even though they're starting with very limited budget and hardware <_< dang Nintendo.... But yes, I would expect no less from Kojima.
  21. *cough*separatedatbirth!?*cough* Granted though, yours reminds me more of Mayu and Mio from Fatal Frame II. Maybe it's the red eyes Anyways, I think the resemblance is also due to the fact that the face, and that hairstyle, are really the most juvenile options Au Ras have. If the horns and faces were at least separated....! >_< This is my first attempt at this same character, but as a Xaela. Again, I ended up falling for that face and hair, without really intending to.
  22. Well, I wanted to make an early-teens character for years, and at last I have her. Shortest height and 0 bust for justice! I'd esteem her to be in the 14-16yo. I hope I can pull that off. (Forgive the nudity, but it was to get an idea of how flat her curves could be). I'll gut whoever calls her 'Yuffie', I didn't realize the resemblance until after five minutes of staring at the finished results. I hate Yuffie, but gdi this model took me all day to figure out >_<...!!
  23. Still brainstorming here, buut... Potential Raen: Potential Xaela: Definitely my male (I'm rolling one for each gender) will be a Xaela. I've settled with the look, but I'm undecided whether to make him in his 20s (Picture 1) or 30s (Picture 2)
