Odette originally struggled to read and write in her backstory, due to the fact she and many Ala Mhigan's fled during the Garlean invasion; meaning that for she it was early childhood. Time in Little Ala Mhigo yielded some results but it was never going to be anything close to what was considered a decent education. Especially when she went on to spend her life at sea as a deckhand. It wasn't until her teen years when she got involved with [THINGS] that she actually worked to become decent at it as a necessity. I hope that helps in some way, and answers your questions!

I still need to catch you up about this! Odette is very heavily involved with the rogue's guild away from the public eye and image. She keeps it heavily under wraps, but I'd certainly be willing to get some RP going between you and I. Perhaps in the guild hall itself? I'll poke you in game at some point.

The previous sun had been unexpectedly rough, a dark tale of camaraderie that left her with more questions than it did answers. Yet for all that occurred, and weighed heavily upon those involved, none of it was apparent on the freckled bronzed features of the highlander whom walked through Limsa Lominsa in her usual sauntered gait; head held high and a charming smile upon full lips. Confident strides and the swing of shapely hips, so easily attributed to the shapely siren, delivered her to the Missing Member, the weekly watering hole for she and a few others. "Ugh, shite...!" exclaimed the blonde, snatching up the flyer with briskly widening lashes as the page is torn from it's nailed positioning upon the wall. An ocean-hued gaze scanned the page and it's image, surprise chased by a loud, earthy bark of laughter. "When they said it'd be good exposure... hells. " A shake of the bard's head betrayed her good-natured amusement. "Nae exactly what I had in mind..." Slender fingers lifted to flick at the page, broad grin etching a wedge of pearly white through sunkissed countenance. Shameless, perhaps. "Least they got my good side. Finest booty... hah!"

The dawn of a new sun brought with it the morning paper. Having spent the eve in the city of Ul'Dah following the festivities of the multi-free company Black and White Ball, Odette had long since shed the second skin that was borrowed extravagance of feather, leather and silk, and meandered about the open lounge of the residence she had retired to in little more than recently adorned underclothes. Delivered paper in hand, ocean depths of an aquamarine gaze danced their way over the pressed pages of written news. "Who t'hells writes this stuff. . ." muttered the shapely blonde with a small pinch of her brows that knitted bronzed forehead at it's center, slender fingers of her opposite hand flicking once against the current page with a twack. "Anyone who would believe t'streets are anything close to resembling 'safe' is woefully mistaken and blissfully ignorant." Shaking her head slowly caused golden strands of hair to cascade down the scape of sunkissed shoulders as azure hues continued down the page with the articles continuation of printed lines. Silence resonated from she with consideration for the article and it's somewhat thought-provoking lead, though said silence was soon cut by the snort of amusement that sounded from the tip of freckled, feminine nose. "Sex weirdo. . ." she mouthed the words as she read them with a slight roll of her eyes. Lifting her naturally earthy voice to carry to the next room, Odette tossed the paper aside where it crumpled upon the varnished surface of a nearby table. "There's so many, I wonder which one?" she called out in light-hearted jest, reaching for a slice of freshly cut fruit that had been laid out for the visit. "I hope Rufus made it back safely." Even still, story dismissed and bemusedly passed over, ocean-hues stole a sidelong glance in the direction of discarded material with a small, lingering frown. Such instances never bode well.

Okay, so I have to ask (and I apologize if this is the wrong place for doing so) but has a lot of attention shifted from the forums to tumblr in terms of interactions/events etc? I've heard it mentioned lately (I haven't been around all that long, so I'm simply going off what I was told) there is something of an increase of [closed] posts as opposed to [open] posts, and many of the events mentioned as of late are posted on tumblr which not everybody uses or sees due to the fact they're not following the right tags/people/etc. I'm curious because I'm contemplating on whether or not I need to make one in order to have full access to these sorts of things first hand. Would it be beneficial to do so?

One of these days, Aya... one of these days... we're gonna RP together! Seriously though, I haven't met her beyond the Celebration of First Snow, and she seems delightful. Then again, who could argue with a whole server saying the same thing? ^^

For someone whom has only recently joined the forums, it's nice to see Noirelle jumping in head first, throwing some great ideas out there and just generally being a welcome addition to the community from the get go. Keep it coming! :thumbsup:

Oh, this is a wonderful idea. Definitely a good avenue to generate RP - always nice to involve players rather than NPCs in my opinion so well done! Hopefully I won't be sending my toon there any time soon, but kudos!

What are you guys talking about? We have a server full of bards just waiting to be hired for public performances and events! Why not use what is readily available, and can generate RP at the same time? I'm sure someone could get something going along with accompanying background music etc. ^^

I haven't RP'd with Steel, but I love everything about the character's concept. You've obviously put a lot of thought into her and it all comes together in the package that is so well wrapped in ribbons of creativity. (Also, OOCly you seem like a sweetheart! ^^)

Thankfully, Odette is a very social creature. Five (of many) reasons in no particular order....! 1). Heeeey good-lookin'. Whaaatcha got cookin'? "Solemn expression dunnae suit a face like that. You waitin' on someone, or merely taking the time to enjoy the view? I know I am." 2). I'm buying drinks! Round on me! You're buying drinks! My new best friend! "I'd be barmy to refuse such an offer. That drink come with a tale? Lead on!" 3). Your point of view intrigues me. Prepare the bantered discussion! "Oho, is that right? Well now, it don't exactly fit when you take causality into effect." 4). I am amused by your antics, please continue while I shamelessly encourage you. "You hear that? Ten pieces of coin down to say he doesn't do it. C'mon [name], me mother's mother could give it a better crack than that!" 5). You look a little lost/in need of aid. Perhaps I can be of assistance? "Easy now, easy. You look like you could use a hand. Deep breath, tell me what's on yer mind."
