Aaron tips the glass at an angle to the side, if the bottom isn't completely covered with water when he slightly angles it, the glass is half empty.

#crushing hopes and dreams since 2010

T'caska pours just the littlest bit of water into Aaron's glass then drops a pebble in it.

Jumped in circles for a solid half-hour before noticing the glass. Drank whatever was in the glass. Instructions were unclear, glass is now being used as a hat.

Tripped and fell. Glass is now broken. Goes on journey to find replacement glass before the owner of the broken glass finds out and doesn't want to be friends anymore.

Got lost.

If Kiht saw the glass filled half-way from an empty state, she would see it as half full.

If she saw it drained half-way from a full state, she would see it as half empty.

If she finds a glass with half its possible volume, and did not see its previous state, she would look for containers or sources of water near by. If there are sources near by, she could assume the glass is half full. If there are no sources near by, she can only assume the glass is half empty as evaporation would soon be rid of it all.

Now, if it is in a place where it rains a lot, and the glass is exposed to possible rain, it could be seen as half full as it may never be empty. If its in a place where rain is rare then it is half empty as it may not be full again until the next rain.

If it's in a place where rain is moderate, she would need to do meteorological calculations to come to a theory.

Since she can not do meteorological calculations, she would just smash the glass with a rock to be rid of the issue altogether.

well since it's been answered both ways from what i've seen...

if its a random glass in a public place (like a bar ) little attention aside from a glance, if it belongs to someone she knows and has something she likes in it; clio will finish it off most likely.

in reference to the more metaphoric saying; clio's slowly starting to ease into the glass containing a half portion of liquid. before it was assumed the contents were poisoned but now it's not quite as bad. she still hasn't gotten to the point of it being half full as there's still some apprehensions she's dealing with.

Graeham would consider it to be half full. He's an optimist and tries to look for the good in everything. If something bad happens he picks himself up and tries to be the voice of reason/encouragement for others to keep going.

Kurt:

"Oh hey a glass..." *drains the thing* "a nice new container to store more oil. The Balthier could probably use an extra cup of oil for a smoother range of motion. Yes!""

(Oil Storage +10%)

Nah:

"Someone left their glass here...better go find who owns it."

*Embarks on a quest chain spanning all known regions and lasts as long as MSQ to find the owner as it comes full circle back to the table she found it on.*

Ramona:

"Someone refill this cup? I need a drink."

Eska/au ra/Xaela:

"What the hell is this thing even?! Oh damn its holding water and you can see the water! Daaamn...better brimg this thingamajig with me."

It is a test. She must balance the glass and six others like it on her knees, arms, elbows, and her head, and maintain proper posture for five hours straight or go without dinner. Challenge accepted.

  • 2 weeks later...

...A little suspicious and she's worried that it's been left to sit out. She sniffs it to see if it's ben laced with anything, but then puts it back down.

"Huh, looks like someone's been drinking from it...half empty already."

Without another thought she then tips the glass over to let it spill onto the floor.
