Blue Posted May 29, 2015 Author Share #26 Posted May 29, 2015 (I mean look at poster titles) All right... First off, my title is sarcastic, it's a way to poke fun at myself for my many posts about how I can't stand around people RPing physical stuff due to personal issues of my own (traumas of the past, bullying, abuse, whatchamacallit, take your guess, I'm not going to be specific). For the umpteenth time, sexual-related stuff disturbs me on a mental level and for that reason I had to take several turns in my life to preserve myself away from that (filtering signatures/avatars, not watching many movies, etc.). Does this reflect in me actually hating those who like to talk about sex, draw set, or even just RP sexual-related things (even not necessarily sex. Even just a kiss bothers me)? No. Absolutely not, because if that was the case I'd have to seal myself away from the world. I'll just look away from things that bother me, but keep my standpoint neutral on who does those things, otherwise I'd be doomed to hate the whole world. And at that point, I might as well get away from it entirely, if you know what I mean. But I like life, so I do not, thankfully. Do my feelings ban me from looking at revealing clothes and commenting them or even just talking about things such as courtesans, concubines, geishas, escorts, etc. etc. etc.? Nope. Or would you say people intollerant to lactose should never talk about cows or milk? Again, there is nothing wrong with RPing courtesans, or bellydancers, or ERP even. It doesn't make you a bad person to do that. And the way you react to me calling a dress "courtesan-like" makes me think that you do not share this opinion. That is your problem and not my own. Next time, you make the thread first and call each gear the way you like. I called it courtesan dress because I didn't even THINK there could be bellydancers RPers since you can't... well... bellydance in game. Good to know that there are, but it'll never be the first thing I'll think of when seeing that kind of dress. It'll be concubines. And looking at google, I'm guessing I'm not the only one, either. https://www.google.it/search?q=concubine&rlz=1C1IHCB_enIT613IT617&espv=2&biw=1250&bih=490&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=nr9oVfy9LoKuswGe64HAAw&ved=0CAYQ_AUoAQ 1 Link to comment
Martiallais Posted May 29, 2015 Share #27 Posted May 29, 2015 Well since we're getting off topic why stop now? There's a fairly sizable gap between 'courtesan' and 'concubine' in practice. A courtesan (which hey, I had to learn this too) was actually skilled in MANY things, not just sex. But let's not get OFF off topic here. I mentioned your poster title for the same reason I mentioned MSQ commentary for someone else in another thread. It's known that you dislike that sort of thing so having you call it out (again other than anything else) kind of casts it in a negative light. Was I attacking you? No. I never said it was bad or made any sort of judgements, just an observation. It actually wasn't even my opinion I was clarifying. I was pointing out how -I- read what someone else said in response to your post since it was becoming an "omg I can't believe you read it this way that's different from me". No more, no less. As you said yourself there's lots of opinions around regarding what it could be, which I do believe I pointed out in my initial post but that wasn't the bit that was quoted sooooooo..... Ciel Posted May 29, 2015 Share #28 Posted May 29, 2015 Whatever, folks, it's a costume. This is why I lurk most of the time, because no one is allowed to disagree with anything on the internet. Link to comment
Kismet Posted May 29, 2015 Share #29 Posted May 29, 2015 My sensibilities are not so tender and delicate that I would find issue with anything the OP included in their post. Not everything we read needs to be taken literally, let alone so seriously. (This post included.) Everyone has more important things to attend to rather than worrying about what total strangers think about some random outfit. 1 Link to comment
Dravus Posted May 29, 2015 Share #30 Posted May 29, 2015 If there's one thing that makes people stand out in a community such as this it's the various distinct quirks that certain posters have. Blue often posts tongue-in-cheek comments regarding ERP and Telluride often criticises the Warrior of Light. Stifle that and we're left with a rather bland atmosphere where people either don't bother posting at all or their input is lacking in individuality or flair. No rules were broken - it was a comment blown out of proportion. So let's move on, eh? As for the topic at hand...I quite like the look of the new gear. I'm actually in the process of forcing myself to level a GLD purely for the sake of gaining access to cosmetic attire. I loathe playing the role of a tank but luckily there's alternatives to doing dungeons... 1 Link to comment

TheLastCandle Posted May 29, 2015 Share #35 Posted May 29, 2015 I love that DRG gear. I wish we had more mail/plate gear with surcoats or tabards. Link to comment
Goodfellow Posted May 29, 2015 Share #36 Posted May 29, 2015 As Erik pointed out in another thread (that I can't find right now on my phone) a lot of the new gear, and especially the DRG set in question, looks very Tactics Ogre, which is unquestionably a good thing. Link to comment

Does that mean we might see Swordmaster outfits at some point? Because I can get behind that. Link to comment
Blue Posted May 29, 2015 Author Share #38 Posted May 29, 2015 I do notice a few sets (like the WHM Miqo'te here) seem to have the same pattern of Au Ra's RSE in terms of clothing style. Fur, leather, tattered clothes, feathers (the pink dress has feathers decors, too). I wonder if this stuff is going to be introduced as Othard clothing. Link to comment
Goodfellow Posted May 29, 2015 Share #39 Posted May 29, 2015 Does that mean we might see Swordmaster outfits at some point? Because I can get behind that. That would be a dream. I could see that being a motif they go with when they inevitably get around to samurai. Link to comment
Grott Posted May 29, 2015 Share #40 Posted May 29, 2015 The three sets on the right, and the two sets at the bottom, look outstanding. I love anything knightly. I hope that black armor has a face-covering visor. If it does, I could go the rest of my time in this game wearing nothing but that black armor and the dragoon set with the "apron." Pretty excited. Sounsyy Posted May 30, 2015 Share #45 Posted May 30, 2015 If the green part is dyeable, I'm so freaking out for this the bard outfit @_@ May be in luck Leanne... (I'm dying to have this gearset. It's soooooo pretty!) Also, maybe this is... an odd looking axe? (Right side) I mean, it seems weird that every other class got a picture but not WAR? Idk. Link to comment
Flickering Ember Posted May 30, 2015 Share #46 Posted May 30, 2015 This is the armor set I really want. I have been waiting a long time for an armor like this that looks more 'wild' and less 'sophisticated' or 'pretty'. Seems like I am going to have to level machinist for it though, a class I was not planning on leveling. Does anyone know if these are going to be job specific? Link to comment
Aduu Avagnar Posted May 30, 2015 Share #47 Posted May 30, 2015 I don't believe the one on the right is MCH, it looks CNJ? if that thing is a wand Link to comment
Aris Posted May 30, 2015 Share #48 Posted May 30, 2015 The right one is at a funny angle but it looks more like a staff than a gun. They're really interesting designs! I love the look of the first two, and the ninja in the 5th one down. Might have to level NIN now. Did they say whether they're crafted or dungeon drops? I know the dancer ones will be crafted, or maybe GS. Link to comment
Gone. Posted May 30, 2015 Share #49 Posted May 30, 2015 Love pretty much all of these, but the AST, BRD and WHM have me most interested I think. Looks like it was a good move to try and get all the pre-Heavensward cosmetics I wanted, after all. Link to comment
