Running the market themselves sure has worked well for Guild Wars 2, but that game free2play. Anything automated however risks annoying players as they can get auto-banned by mistake while, as mentionned above, the real troublemakers might figue out a way around it. In the end, it's best to leave it to players to report the spammers or to sell in-game currency themselves. Or both.

Wart... I like Wart, actually I can see this working. Picture a tavern. Big bad roegadyn, lil badass lalafel. Bunch of guys come in and makes short jokes to provoke the roegadyn into defending his smaller friend so they can show off by beating him. But then... "Hey Wart, why doncha show these guys how the strongest drinks come in the smallest shots while I finish my drink?" [insert violence here]

The way it's written in first person also gives some interesting bits of the character's personality, in addition to the background story. Like how the whole thing is told rather casually and how Mikki gets distracted halfway through.

Gotta agree abuot femroegadyn there... My main of course will be a Moon'qote, as before, but I'm aiming for a roegirldin alt (I love making up words). I also suffer from heavy alticism, witch 1.0 severely restrained by offering a single character slot at first and sahre your tendency to do ALL the jobs (and I absolutely love FF Tactics on the PsP for that, cause more jobs! and better translations). And I'm not sure about the schedule for those dances but I'd put my gils on around midnight.

Hehe punting gnomes was a huge thing in WoW. But Lalas are SO CUTE! Except the creepy guys with mustaches. Like that one from the 1.0 Limsa Lominsa quest with the fishers. o_O Also, Lalafel with Onion Helm. I want to see this.

Azy stayed behind, she was never a military type person so big battles aren't something she'd hop in. Besides I didn't play much back then! In fact, I might just end up RPing as if I was new. As in, she wasn't actively adventuring and stuff "5 years ago" (instead spending her time leading a doubl-life between her smithy and the Ul'dah rooftops and dark alleys).

Being mysterious is overdone (says the one RPing a vigilante with a secret identity). That FF prophecy intro, on the other hand... Welcome!

My immersions! (In mythology, it has 8 legs, whereas in a lot of FF games, I think it usually has 6. Regardless, I hope nobody seriously wants to complain about such a thing.) What? 8? D'oh! My viking lore needs some revision, I guess! But yeah, I was only kidding. I have to agree with Mtoto, though. I'll take M-tek armor over horsies anytime (except maybe steampunkish mechahorsies like in Rift). I'm now a Warmachine/Iron Kingdom player too, so I'm really in the mood for it.

New characters can be rolled anywhere, on a legacy server or a non-legacy one. I'll also be looking for that kinda linkshell/company/thing, but I already have my main catgirl on a Legacy server, the old RPC unofficial server. I also got a human there but I'm thinking of leaving her aside and making a femroegadyn instead cause they look awesome. ^^ (besides, pirates yarrrr) Now for Linkshell-shopping... You can browse the Linkshell Hall And I guess you can make a profile in the Player Directory and mention that you're looking for a linkshell in your post?

I agree on the yellow... but Feathered Hat has been a low-level headgear in Final Fantasy games for ages!

I've said it back before 1.0 was in beta and I'll say it again... votes suck. They always create drama, it's inevitable. So either, don't have a vote or just.. you know.. don't make drama! ^^ And Viper.. I understand where you're coming from, but try seeing this game as an old game, rather than a new one. Because it's not new, it's just changed. So it's the same as joining a game that's existed for a while. Even if it was brand new, there will always be those people who will rush to max level in a week before they start RPing or those that have RPed for months before launch in chat or on forums. I'm not saying your concerns aren't valid, on the contrary I'm saying they would be valid even on a brand new game. I've played a dozen mmo's in beta and launch by now and every single time I was lagging behind after a week. And I've been unable to work or do much physical stuff for the past 4 years so mmo's have been my primary source of entertainment. ^^;

I understand how it feels to join an older community and feel discouraged about "fitting in". Indeed, I have often tried to jump into mmo's at launch "just to be sure" I'd have a chance.I have learned since then that a community's age and history has nothing to do with how easy it is to fit in. The only two real factors are: 1- How willing one is to put effort into finding/making their place in the community. 2- How willing the community is to welcome new members. As far as the RPC goes, I believe 2 isn't a problem at all. That leaves 1 for individuals to figure out. As far as I'm concerned, I might have been around in FF XIV's firxt incarnation Beta, it's been so long since I played, only a handful of old timers have any idea who the hell I am so I kinda feel like I'll have a lot of work to do to fit in too! But yeah... not worried.
