  1. I've wanted Photography to be a part of Eorzea, but it seems to me like it isn't.. at least not commonly. But.. if it were..! That would be fun! ^^
  2. I doubt the idea of "rights" is one that the denizens of Eorzea regularly traffic in. Ul'dah has "The Law", which is unlikely to provide equal protection, but does offer some protection to the common people, and even refugees. This is not the same as Rights. Limsa Lominsa, I would imagine, has the most modern concept of Rights. Pirate crews traditionally functioned as murderous democracies, and the rights of crew to their share, and their say over who the captain is, would most likely play into the Limsan concept of politics and order. Still, one does what the Captain says, and the routes to redress are limited. Gridania strikes me, somewhat ironically given how its portrayed, as the most "repressive" of the city-states. Being so easily victimized by the Twelveswood and the Elementals certainly has a lot to do with this: we do what the Seedseers say, because they are the seedseers. There's not much else to it (except for a healthy dose of rather rational xenophobia tossed on top).

  4. I know I saw someone somewhere say something about Hyur lasses... There's a theme to these, by the way, and more (and better) yet to come!
  5. Aya totally doesn't flirt! She just lets hers eyelashes, hips, and sometimes a purposeful little lean or bend, do the talking for her
  6. Aya's is more thematic than realistic or practical Its meant to play upon her one true talent of dancing, and her overall gifted athleticism and grace. She does rely upon some very real principles of pole-arm fighting, especially range and leverage, to overcome some of the inherent disadvantages she has in terms of bulk, pure strength, and experience. No matter how talented a knife or short-sword wielding opponent may be, he would have to cover a lot of dangerous ground to get past an Aya-wielded pole-arm!
  7. You could always hire Aya to bring cookies!

  10. He's gonna cheat and let booze pour into those prosthetics of his. Yeah, that's the plan. He's going to short his legs out and have to be carried home and tucked into bed. Actually, that will probably happen no matter what. We're going to need a bigger wheelbarrow!
  11. Weeeeelcoooome! Don't forget to visit the Quick Sand!
  12. Berrod is... *swoon* One evening Aya was just finishing her shift at the Quick Sand, when she noticed two rugged looking fellas standing by the pillar. They'd just run into each other and seemed to know one another. There was a rough looking Miqo'te, and a ruggedly handsome Highlander. At the time I had not yet heard of either of them. They began to talk to one another, and I wish that I had kept a log of the conversation. It was both hilarious, and interesting. It seemed to reveal so much about the two, while striking an amazing tone of what the people of the Ul'dahn streets must be like (in their full rough-and-tumbled-ness) and yet made Aya so uneasy that she didn't want to approach them! In the end, although I do not remember the words, I know that the effect was my favorite RP conversation that I've ever overhead or taken part in, and then the two of them said their farewells and parted ways. Since then I've been fortunate enough to meet those two ruffians: my friends Val and Berrod
  13. ( SABLE IS FRENCH FOR SAND. SAB- LEH ) ((Is there an Ishgardian tie? Oops! Added OOC brackets, since replies here look to be in-character ))
  14. "Oh hiiiiiiiiiiii! Wow wasn't that a great party? Can you believe what he did with that... wait, aren't you that [guy/gal] from Costa last weekend?"
  15. Little effort at editing a screen shot in Gimp ^^
  16. Just.. walk up and talk! Sometimes they ignore you. Sometimes they're so mean that you just cock an eyebrow and wonder, "HOW COULD ANYONE BE SO MEAN WHEN I JUST WANT TO TALK". Sometimes they're even rude in OOC tells! Oh, it happens! (though rarely). But sometimes they turn into friends you keep :-]
  17. Seriously? I can't even imagine the thought process that leads to anyone thinking or saying that :-] I rarely even notice someone's level! I can't recall ever running into that sort of thing either.. though I guess I can't say that I'm surprised that its out there. Hopefully I'll be back around in the Quick Sand more, I wish I'd met you already!
