I just want to add that I had Comcast as a provider for years and my experience with them was positive throughout. There will always be problems with service interruptions (the last stretch of your internet connection is literally running through your neighborhood suspended 15' above the ground by dead trees), but their service was about as prompt as you could expect, their customer service was helpful, and when I had real issues they always came through with an account credit. I know other people have had really bad experiences with Comcast, and they're the butt of a lot of jokes, but I just wanted to point out that isn't everyone's experience I'm sure that connection is fast enough for gaming, you should be just fine!

That makes sense! I know that its clear that they're involved with anything directly effecting the Sultana. The only quests I've done that mention them, the later MSQ, basically just call them glorified bodyguards (though I took that for being banter given the way it was delivered ^^). Regardless, it doesn't really matter to me. I love our Sultan Sworn!

My impression of the Sultan Sworn, honestly, is that they're like the Royal Guards around Europe. They wear the fancy uniforms, strut around and drill, and are technically there to protect the monarch, but are really mostly there for show. I think the player base really likes them though and has kind of pressed upon them a more prominent role. Besides, the majority of Ul'dah "officialdom" RPers are Sultansworn, I think, so its nice to take advantage of that even if it may not be strictly canon.

Zhavi = amazing! If she's enjoying the game, and able, she'll be back! Personally I kind of disagree with Warren, but it really is my habit not to put myself in that sort of position. Whatever you do I wouldn't put having fun on hold for someone who's indefinitely away. If she comes back and you can piece together your story again, terrific, but I wouldn't worry about it too much, and definitely wouldn't let it hold you back! Live for today! And maybe tomorrow! Not for yesterday! :-]

We read carefully every people description and wiki to be able to pick one of the cards left. We know that it's not perfect but we were expecting having more than one person on some of the cards and to do some not totally accurate choice. Sorry for that =x I was not complaining!!!! I'm so excited, please don't read that any other way! Its very interesting in its own way!

I was referring to his father (in all of the suggestions for how he could have been ostracized) Being suspected of being a heretic will get someone killed (hello Witchdrop!) if there is evidence to substantiate it. Suspicion by itself, even with Inquisitors about, is not likely to be enough (though a handy threat to hang over someone you dislike's head). That's because there aren't Miqo'te in Ishgard (at least of any significance) Good luck with your character!

There's actually quite a bit of lore supporting Ishgard now! Really all of the city-states have a great deal of gaps that just have to be filled with with fertile imagination :-] I think your story is fine generally, and you don't have to listen to any of my advice that follows, but I'll post it since you asked! I would generally suggest staying away from half-breeds. They are confirmed to exist, but are also very uncommon. I think you can easily build the same theme and concept with something that is more holistic and less likely to raise eye-brows and put radars on alert. Anything from being a suspected of being a heretic (while its unprovable), to competition in romance, or just getting on the wrong side of someone in a position of power would all work for your idea of basically being internally ostracized. Its hard enough to live in Ishgard as-is, following endless years of winter freeze, but certainly having someone with authority trying to make your life miserable would make the lot a whole lot worse! What of a step mother? Or at least a relative who helped raise him like a mother since a soldier on duty would literally not have the time to take care of an infant? Given the importance of his father to the story, it wasn't clear to me if he was intended to still be alive. If he is, and trying to survive in Ishgard while his son is trying to achieve both of their dreams outside the walls, I think that would provide a hook of considerably more interest than being half-miqo'te

Locked in the depths of another dark northern winter, right now I want nothing more than to be back relaxing on a warm, sunny, white-sand beach. I can't quite get there, but at least I can listen and feel some of that warm, pleasant, relaxed energy.

I have never transferred a character, but its definitely my understanding that transfers are always possible (you get what you pay for..! ^^)
