[SPOILERS not hidden in SPOILERS] 2.55 Before the Fall Part 2
Kellach Woods replied to Kage's topic in FFXIV Discussion
Yeah but it'll take them a while to resurface. Potentially with new character designs and a new outlook from their experience that makes them less bland. Riol, from what I understand, isn't dead but I wouldn't be surprised if they sacrifice him stupidly down the line. He too good for this world. Also, for those of you who are looking for more light-hearted stuff, I urge you to do postmoogle. First, you have Wymond's backstory as an informant and... well, a ginormous explosion. Second, to wash the bad taste of betrayal out of your mouth, a short tale of the Company of Heroes, and then, MORE MOOGLES and the Postmoogle cap! -
Before the Fall Vs. You [Major spoilers]
Kellach Woods replied to ChewableMorphine's topic in RP Discussion
Though you may be loath to claim this IC, there's a good chance that Pipin would rally troops from the flames, and while he might not be the General, I'm fairly sure that a lot of them would also respect him. It was more that you had a combination of the Crystal Braves and the Brass Blades looking for the WoL and Alphinaud and doing their damndest to find him. It was a lynch mob, not a riot. -

Looks like they're using the same toning as for hair for those horns. Interesting. Likely it'll be a two-tone thing like you can do for hair with base color and highlights. Also, the clipping ughhhhhhhhhhh. I am a bad person who skips credits. Okay, yeah, the Urianger shit is just a home visit. Like seriously if he turns out to be a traitor we can point to this scene as the start of him going dark, but yeah. -
Before the Fall Vs. You [Major spoilers]
Kellach Woods replied to ChewableMorphine's topic in RP Discussion
Unless someone tells IC that the Sultana is dead, Kellach has absolutely no way of actually knowing. Unfortunately for him, people have a tendency to tell him sensitive information that he should not be knowing. As to why he would go to Coerthas... who can say? Kellach's mind works in very mysterious ways. -

Oh, Minfillia. You hardly delayed them. Brennan confirmed Canadian. Pipin now my favorite NPC out of this patch. Alphinaud needs several slaps upside the head. One for every single time he did something stupid. -

Hey if they swap MSQ with Hildi that might happen! Yo, the lighting on Raubahn is boss. Kudos to whoever did that. The part after that? Less so. Hey, Y'shtola actually DID something! Shit, maybe they're actually doing something about how fucking bland she is! ... NOPE SHE BITES IT! -
[SPOILERS not hidden in SPOILERS] 2.55 Before the Fall Part 2
Kellach Woods replied to Kage's topic in FFXIV Discussion
To have an emotional rollercoaster, you need to care about the characters. Square has done nothing to do that for me as far as MSQ is concerned. They could die, disappear forever, spit on their graves and I'd be like "yeah sure whatever". I just do. not. care. I want to get this shit over with so we're introduced to a new set of characters I might actually like. Also, disclaimer for cutscenes? How about you get someone who can actually space those out? Sultana getting bodied was hilarious. Especially since I had my ninja outfit on so it actually looked like I did it. Welp, one useless ruler down. 3 more to go. (Also, you're alone with 3 brass blades, Teledji and the handmaiden - you could body them free and actually do something GOOD for Eorzea instead of just standing around being a dumbass.) Also, what did I say last patch? BURN UL'DAH TO THE GROUND, IT HAS NOTHING GOOD TO OFFER EORZEA. Hey look at that I was right! To be fair though, WoL is the most incompetent of the bunch so yeah. -

[SPOILERS not hidden in SPOILERS] 2.55 Before the Fall Part 2
Kellach Woods replied to Kage's topic in FFXIV Discussion
The same Merlwyb who begged for the Scions to solve all the Primal problems she and her nation made for themselves? the one and only Yep. The very same although I'd just say the Scions were formed to defend against the Primal menace from my understanding so it makes sense for her to call on them for that specific purpose. The Dravinian/Ishgarde war is "unrelated" to the concerns of the Alliance so that's a thing to consider. Obviously we know that they're completely related and that they should do their damnedest to help, but ya know. Steps of Faith is bullshit. -

I'm going to enjoy this patch because every time Ul'dah gets fucked I lol. So far, not at that point, but I'm gonna nitpick it muchly when I do get there. I would have loved that the council actually shove the "fuck you I got mine" attitude the Ishgardian showed more in Alphinaud's face - Merlwyb's "First Limsa, then the Alliance, then maybe Ishgard and the rest" was just not enough. -

Yep and it wouldn't be the first time NPCs are allowed to do things players can't (or that NPCs are repackaged from a version of the game where this was possible.)

How Much "Action/adventure" Do You Get?
Kellach Woods replied to Knight Kat's topic in RP Discussion
Anyhoo, I don't want to make hopes rise up but I might do an IC version of Wanderers' Palace HM. It depends on how Kell's "personal" story (or rather Stuff I Randomly Came Up With While RPing With Eamont That One Time) develops. Story would be pretty much "help out the non-violent tonberries." No date given because I dunno if it'll happen or when, but yeah. -
The How To Help Newbie RPers In Making Connections Forum
Kellach Woods replied to Tiergan's topic in RP Discussion
The moment you make that assertion you're in for the long haul because people can and WILL expect you to name names and have logs to present as proof. Which, let's be real here, won't happen. Also, reframing it like "how do we help people who struggle with finding RP?" won't help either - you'll get a rehash of the thread with even more people being condescending towards the people that would need the help and not the condescension. Also, the reason why inter-generational RP needs to happen is two-fold : 1) It integrates the newer person into the overall community, giving them a much larger range of contacts, while also exposing them to a larger amount of criticism and reinforcement for the development of their character from people who have played with the lore of the game for a long time. 2) It broadens the horizons of the veteran player and allows them easier access to new people who may be closer to his niche. Sure, new people RPing with new people is good because heyyyy RP~ but is it healthy for the community to have that kind of split? Not really. -

Speaking of going along with shenanigans, Lani's pretty good at that too. That she hasn't thwapped me for stupidity yet is telling of her patience! -
Not the problem - even the higher ups of the Maelstrom do not wear armor, nor do the Immortal Flames and the Twin Adders if you take a look at what they offer. The point is - if even the people in the thick of it do not wear armor with the exception of the Sultansworn, maybe, just maybe, there is more to this decision than just the devs being dinks. Hell, even the Armorer's guild is busier making ships than actual armor. That we even HAVE an armorer's guild is actually fairly weird considering how little full on armor is found. Again, there's nothing preventing you from doing it. Like there's nothing preventing me from wearing a boar leather harness and still having a metric fuckton of stats and acting like boar leather caused a glancing blow from an Iron Giant sword. Also, typically, RDM won't wear anything above medium armor. Think Leathers and Chains rather than the full plate regalia (chain + plate + more plate). Another thing to keep in mind, full on plate mail got phased out at a point in history with tech that's even lower than Eorzea's, without even counting magic and other such things. I'm saying, if the use of game mechanics to justify why mages don't wear armor is what causes you to stop suspending your disbelief, I don't know what to say.

Ahem. If you want to complain about armor... HERE IS YOUR TYPICAL MARAUDER :

I started one - it's all inclusive ooc/ic with tags. Except for asks which are always IC because it'll be funnier that way. It can be found at : kellachfromthewoods.tumblr.com It's ugly as sin but you know I still go hard.

only thing I'd do to the sig version is place a shadow behind the text because it's kind of hard to read at the mo. It's perf otherwise.
