  1. I'd say one of the reasons why I don't interact with a lot of folks at a time. Usually what happens is I take it personally when they never bother to talk to me again, and initiating is like a no-no because I figure if they wanted to talk to me they'd do so.
  2. Probably doing something stupid like leap dramatically in the middle of the fight to take the killing blow. I love Kell and all but he's a fucking dumbass when he's not smart. Otherwise he'd just try and calm both down to a level where they're not trying to kill each other. After that it's all smiles and bringing 'em to the doctor after they're done.
  3. Ye shrewd motherfuckers you kept this from me. Mah tears, they are of joy. (now watch it be something like "easy access i70 jewelry", when jewelry was the first thing I ended up melding )
  4. It not being stated directly doesn't mean it won't turn out to be the case (also why I said likely - I've done those quests and know there's no mention of aether. Curious Gorge's also kind of an idiot). Yes, it's simplified because it was meant to be a super simple gross simplification. Also, consider that warriors' only power is getting hit the face. That's sad.
  5. MNK quests pretty much states that chakra = access to Aether for Monk abilities. Inner Beast likely the same. Also, FCOB and other stuffs that pretty much confirm Aether shaped by beliefs... Ishgard being a land of fanatics... EH? EH? Ninja's more common these days thanks to the storyline and canonicity of ninjas being everywhere in 2.4 MSQ. I entirely agree with that sentiment, Aya.
  6. I consider the Lancer/Dragoon kit far closer to Zhao Yun/Ma Chao in a DW intro cutscene than anything else seen in an actual FF. I also don't think the jobs themselves are THAT powerful. You draw upon an otherwise unused source of power likely tied to Aether, allowing you access to more specialized abilities and a larger source of strength. You're still squishy. Honestly, it's one of those things that I'm less concerned about in play. Other than the White Mage Exception, I can handwave or find a way to fit practically any job on any race.
  7. Eh - I've reached this state of being where implementing paid upgrading of something is fine unless it directly affects PvE/PvP performance to a point where it's obligatory to do so. Same. I thought it'd be impossible to get to 2-star handland for me, but I'm closer than ever. (Also, I SBed into a few Gatherer IVs so... yeah)
  8. There's so many factions that want to slap Ul'dah in general that you don't have to go towards the big G. Ul'dah's pretty much a city of conflict and worship of the Gil. Even if you find selling them out for Garlemald (hee) isn't your cup of fancy, there's still a lot of room for such a character. Just slum it for a bit, get with the Ala Mhigans, see if that takes your fancy. I do have a character I might need to pull out more, but it's in contrast to yours. He pretty much hates all the Eorzean nations - he just thinks Garlemald is the opposite of a sensible solution.
  9. Everyone's getting married so much I'mma need to get Kell a fedora. Which, considering I'm planning on getting the Forager's Hat, will actually be a thing that happens.
  10. ...why do I have an image of Kage mail-ordering a Roe bride?
  11. In so far as the jump ability is concerned, I'd say there could be various personal handwaves. My favorite one being that Ishgardians have such hateboner for dragons that they unconsciously use aether to home in on them, aided with the armor's design to get there faster. It is also the only positive thing I will say about Ishgard.
  12. What's the problem with SMN anyway? I'm not super familiar with it. Is it DPMP?
  13. NIN's also getting nerfed via TP costs according to that letter. Might get a hit on damage, but I doubt it'll be sufficient enough to not make it king of utility. They pretty much seemed to have hit the nail on the head with the buffs too - less positional restrictions, more MagDef.
  14. Bruh, follow FFII mythology even if it contrasts with XIV. No jumping, sensible armor and best Highwind. I didn't read your post fully sorry for the extra ping, but... Probably gonna be easier in Heavensward to handwave that.
  15. Other than for bards, if Level 1-2 had same effects but different anims I think that might work. So far so awesome though.
  16. In gameplay I've seen more trash BLMs than DRGs. I'd even say the DRGs kinks could be worked out with time, whereas the BLMs need to just stop what they're doing and reevaluate their lives. In RP? I've never really encountered anything like that.
  17. 'cause we know it as MSPaint Adventures?
  18. A copy of Essences and Permutations in hand, Kellach was in an inn room, poring over the tome. Pinchyshell was staring at the Emerald Carbuncle that he had summoned. The Carbuncle, a construct by nature, confused the otherwise valiant crab. The crab poked at Carbuncle, the Carbuncle stood there. The crab poked again and again. Meanwhile, Kellach had noted down the prayer, and was comparing it to his own mythology. From the Book of Rites, it read : After that page, it continued in the various details pertaining to each offering which was quite uninteresting, at the moment, for Kellach. Although the Offering to Fire may be interesting if he could get his hands on a document pertaining to ancient Mamool Ja dancing rituals. What was interesting was that there was a common theme between the elements creating themselves in the Essences and Permutations text and the Book of Rites. Though none had documented the history of his people and their settling the continent, they had obviously come from a similar background than the immigrants to Eorzea to classify the elements in the same manner. More importantly, if there was an universal truth to the order of elemental classification in historical and mythological texts, perhaps there could even be a practical application to this theory in arcane arts. More importantly, could he apply his cultural understanding of the elements to Eorzean practices of aether manipulation? He'd already performed a feat of incredible knowledge and application of arcane arts, but this kind of heavy thinking was far beyond his knowledge. He decided to take his axe and start swinging at a nearby practice dummy.
  19. I figure, if there's a fish that makes ya randy, there's probably a fish that solves that problem too.
  20. It helps that A) you've seen me play and B) you know where I'm coming from. And I don't know that it's a joke - enough people here have that mentality.
  21. I hope you don't mind me saying this like this, but If Aaron can beat T9, NO ONE ELSE HAS AN EXCUSE FOR NOT BEATING T9. How about I don't want to deal with that kind of attitude? Like for real, that is a bigger turnoff than any sort of fake difficulty.
  22. Macroing takes the fun out of the craft, I think. Can't seem to find anything that sells remotely well that I could do at this level, too.
  23. I just don't have the cash nor the knowledge to join you. I think I'll stay 1-star just because of that. Although personally I don't think it's that bad until you hit 4-star. Just gotta trust more in the YOLO.
