Even in the game's context, wouldn't that specifically refer to sodomy? I don't think I've seen a NPC use Thal's balls, but Thal's bowels is definitely there (I've seen enough of that Costa del Sol NPC). I have to admit though, I need to one day drop the line "Althyk's dick". Personally, I justify my lack of using the in-game accents by the fact that Kellach isn't from Eorzea, but even so I should probably start picking up the vernacular.

He popped a cap in her uoeno.

Kellach adopted a smallshell crab which he calls Pinchyshell, although with how passive Kell often is, it's more a question that a random smallshell crab decided to follow him along. It often settles on his head and becomes a crab hat.

Something about your character few know...

Obviously. But it also involves careful discarding of clothing in "appropriate" situations. -

Something few people know about Kell... Y'know, I don't think there's really anything. Sure, I can say that "that his father died" but that's JUST happened and due to how far his homeland actually is, he just now learned the news. It'll probably come up as I RP more (although lately... crafting's been taking a lot of my time). I could also talk about his sexuality but I think it'd surprise more people to learn that yes he's actually attracted to women too considering how... well, fabulous would be the best descriptive here, he is. However, no one really cares about what stirs his undergarments (or lack thereof). I can't even say "that he's killed people before" because that's the first thing he did when arriving in Eorzea, in self-defense, and was "rewarded" for it. I think the closest I can think of is that he's got an exhibitionist streak and wants to be seen. Hence why the tiara, makeup and highlights always matching. -

It makes more sense to show skin in Ul'dah due to, y'know, trying to dress to impress/seduce/etc. than in the actual desert, but hey I'm not about to start complaining about that since I wanted to run Coerthas in a bikini.

Vaughn is a man after my own heart. But no way I'm heaving an axe without proper armor.

Huh. I rolled one and didn't notice the lack of muscle slider. Weirrrrrrd.

It surprises me that they don't because pretty much everyone else has it exception Lalas (and consarnit I want my renaissance baby buff lalas for maximum MRDing).

Kellach was in his room, clutching a letter sternly, creasing the paper. This was the first time he truly lamented coming to Eorzea. He thought of catching the first boat towards the outer continents, but decided against it. His brother was growing up to be a far better man than he was. Other than tart himself up and play up his ignorance of Eorzean customs, what had he actually done here? Study? He hadn't been able to see the inside of Mealvaan's Gate in ages. Train? He hadn't properly trained in weeks. They were all right - What he needed to work on was himself.

Wardrobe malfunctions are NOT how Flash works! That's how I use it with Kell. He's just so pretty no one is blinded. He's also not a paladin.

Character personas you wished you dabbled more in!
Kellach Woods replied to Delilah Scythewood's topic in RP Discussion
What is evil but a construct or a label? True evil generally requires some of degenerated mental status or bad writing. Perspective is everything! With a minor change in perspective, The Warrior of Light becomes a deicidal murder-hobo bringing about the end of all beastmankind and licking the boots of the political elite of man. ...that was kind of my point. You can also toss in delusional too. -

That's what I meant by I'd rather "evil be an action". Although I've kind of went against that with two of my characters here, but one I've never really played because I know I'd probably get half the server on my ass the moment I opened my mouth. The other's Kell and I'd need to get into that and I don't want to right now -
What's something nobody expects your character to be/do?

Only to have a dude show up saying "We need you for one last mission" and have a dramatic moment where you put on the armor again. And then explosions everywhere. IT WRITES ITSELF. -

The problem I have with playing an evil character is that... it feels limiting. I try not to do it just because of that. However, saying that I don't want to play evil doesn't mean I don't want to play bastards, or people who do evil things. I'd rather evil be an action. I also have a problem playing right old bastards because I have problems determining when too much is too much. I also don't tend to like these characters in general even though I've rolled one. -

That Kellach's perfectly willing to cave a little girl's skull in in certain situations despite the protestations of everyone around him, despite her intentions, just because she is a threat. -
Dr. Jana's Field Guide to ERPers for Everyday Folks Like Yourself
Kellach Woods replied to Jana's topic in RP Discussion
Wait... ERP DOESN'T STAND FOR EPIC ROLE PLAY? *shames self off thread* * * * Seriously though, don't bring ratings into this - They really only exist to protect the company and retailers from people railing against content that's already in the game. After all - "Online interactions not rated by the ESRB." That being said, it is against the ToS to do it in public channels, so don't. Not that anyone here would do that. I've seen it happen personally though, that they'd go very, VERY far in /say though not in this game, and it was this ur-example of all that is "wrong" with ERP. I was too busy laughing my ass off to care. Still, I kind of compare the ranting against ERP (from "it's wrong" to "ERPers are gross") to potential people who do it as saying to a wrestling fan "wrestling's fake!" It comes from a position of assumed superiority about something everyone's already figured out years ago. That it's not your cup of tea is fine - that it is someone else's is also fine. The funny part is, and again this was my experience in another game, a portion of people who'll say "fuck ERP" when prompted by someone who asks them about it, are actually ERPers themselves either trying to fit in or being obviously sarcastic about their hatred. -
I hear that. I have a friend who was like that in WoW. She gave people multiple chances to show how screwed up they were, but at the same time she gave me a chance when I DID screw up to a) explain myself and b) actually make it up to her. It's not a bad trait to have. Just one that can get taken advantage of by unscrupulous people or people that just plain don't know better. It's also funny because she's in a happy relationship and so was able to properly RP relationships with me or her other friends in part because of that.

Whenever I read these threads I'm like "How do you people keep running into those people?" I mean, I ran into one a few years ago in another game, and after figuring this out I went "nope never again" and, y'know, learned my lesson and moved on. I get that I don't put myself out there nearly half as much as most of you do, but if this is really a recurring problem, why not just, y'know, let them flounder in their misery? I also kind of laugh at the idea that there are rules because a) they can't be enforced (the site here has rules - RP in-game has guidelines) b) they're not even agreed upon for the most part. Most of us will follow the "Be Excellent to Each Other" tagline the site has, but that doesn't mean everyone frequents the site, that everyone will follow it at all times (we all make mistakes) or that there'll be people/FCs that have their own rules that run against that. Honestly this really feels like a prejudiced diatribe against new players more than anything else.

In my opinion, it's a good place to put stuff that really affects your character that wouldn't normally come up in History/Personality. More stuff about the character is almost always good.

Kellach had been through... well, before he would have said "a lot", now he would say "very little of importance" in an attempt to not sound affected by all that transpired. Suffice it to say that merely saying it does not remove the burning feeling in his gut of getting verbally smacked down by someone he respects due to being very immature and irresponsible about things. However, it does place everything into perspective. Granted, this is what happens when someone takes themselves out of their element and enters a world that functions by its own rules. Ones that he should have learned before coming. That, however, does not excuse his atrocious self-centered behavior. He, at the very least, is starting to see that now. Walking the streets of Limsa Lominsa on a rare day off, he would look at the wares in Hawkers' Alley, looking for very specific items. Not any would suffice, after how easily they were snatched from him. Nay, an active man needed gear made for these activities. Behind him was his newfound trusty pet, a smallshell that had followed him after some particularly gruesome events, struggling to catch up to its self-appointed "master". Ask the crab, and you would likely hear a pincer drum solo that proudly declared his crab name in crab language. In human language though, it was slightly less proud. "Here Pinchyshell!" Kellach said, lowering his arm to let the smallshell climb onto his shoulder. He reached into his pouch to get some pieces of dry algae that he'd collected to feed him when he was near. Finally, he saw a stand that looked like they had what he was looking for. Pinchyshell looked around for an area to stretch its legs. It was tired of just standing on the same shoulder. Without warning, it started climbing the back of Kellach's hair only to stop on his head. The vendor looked positively puzzled at the strange man with long flowing locks with red highlights, opaque red lipstick, and a crab on his head that was clapping its pincers like it'd just won the lottery. "Hee, crab hat!" said Kellach, giggling right after. "Say, would you happen to have some extremely sturdy undergarments?"

Does your character have any unfair Bias or Discrimination?
Kellach Woods replied to Kage's topic in Character Workshop
I don't think I gave Kell any specific biases, though he's started noticing that Miqo males are... bizarre. Since he can't tell the difference between the clans, he just assumes that all of them are weird (granted he's not encountered the most common of Miqo males). He's also too much of a pussy (pun intended) to do anything about it. He's not really interacted much with Roes or Lalafells. I guess the most unfair bias he has would be that he thinks everything is an Eorzean custom regardless of how silly it sounds, like that time he took a sarcastic "you can sit on my lap hue hue hue" by someone in the Quicksand and he just went and did it anyway, thinking that maybe Eorzeans were more welcome to stacking each other on chairs.
