You'd think Lalas were rabbits considering how bad they can get. Fishing is the lewdest profession, and they involve lalas all the way through. That's not what he's talking about - He wants to use the Inner Beast/AF theme that the armor allows you to amplify the Inner Beast's power at the cost of control over it, RPing on themes of loss of control over the Inner Beast and the dire consequences it can bring. At least that's what I understood - nothing prevents him from doing that (thanks to Sounsyy's suggestion!), but also nothing prevents him from doing that with a different approach that doesn't require acceptance that Job Quest elements are for him and him alone.

It's less of a retcon than establishing his beliefs prior to encountering the existence of the Twelve in Eorzean mythology and the Eorzeans' worship of her. Lemme copy/paste a portion of what I put on Kell's wiki entry : The "humanizing" part is far less developed than, say, attributing Ice to Halone and Menphina and lies more into giving human traits to things that are not necessarily human. They speak of massaging the earth rather than upturning the earth for planting seeds, etc. They fan flames literally, rather than figuratively, etc. On his way to Eorzea, he'd encountered a bard that knew of his village's traditions and told him to not exhibit them due to beings called Primals and how his personal "worship" could be confused by Eorzeans as Primal Worship, which is "punishable" by death. Which is why he was silent on most of this at the beginning, but as he learned to trust a few people, he'd expound more on it. He respects the Twelve, and may yet use one of the many curses in use by Eorzeans, but a "Lightning take me!" (perhaps not the best example...) may sometimes escape his lips. Other curses could be : "Earth swallow me!", "Fire singe me!", etc. Naturally, "Wind blow me!" is fairly blasphemous for... obvious reasons. His affinity with Althyk, due to his weapon of choice and what he views as a contrast between his domain (time) and his weapon of choice (mythril greataxe).

From what I've seen, Shark Oil isn't often undercutted but you have to ensure HQ crafts, since that's all that's available on Balmung. That being said, that's only one of the numerous items. Desynth lottery with crafting/gathering items can lead to Fieldcraft Demimateria 1, which sells for up to 10k+ since you need 10 for one piece of iLevel 55 jewelry (and you need 5 Field/Battle just to get these recipes!)

Alternately, if you really want to interact with others and want to avoid problems, you can use the same concept without saying that it is the canon armor from the Warrior Job quests. Although Sounsyy's suggestion is good.

The thing with 1-star gathering is that for the most part they're in some demand, but practically every gatherer rushes towards that, and most crafters will also have grinded to get to 50 gathering. In my case, I tend to either gather until I have just enough or straight up keep reserves when it's something like darksteel/gold (my other gathering classes are at 44/40) If you've got Fishing and Alchemy to a high enough level, Shark Oil is selling around for 6.5k a pop, and is necessary for several recipes in leves and level 50 entry-level (Militia offhands, for example).

Updating now. Bleh, gonna miss out on this run of Supply/Provisioning, but w/e since I'm still gonna get GSM 50 when I get back from work. I ended up labbing myself some Yun in USF4. A character I would otherwise loathe, too.

I used to - I have a writing tumblr here and I've self-published a novella in French which, like all first offerings, I am terribly ashamed of. It's not available online or in English and translating it would take a while.

I've been immersed in this game so much I got no idea what to do. Could play Smash on 3DS, could brush up on I:GAU so I'm not so free next Sunday, could do a lot of stuff. Eh, tomorrow morning it should be up, which'll allow me to get 50 GSM, and then do something else I guess before work. Probably'll have just enough time to complete my supply/provisioning for that XP.

We'll see, I'm only at 2/8 crafts at 50 anyway, with 3/8 as soon as I'm back from work. I'll probably concentrate on maxing out my clothes, since that doesn't seem like it'll change much.

eh, the biggest problem I have right now with crafting is that if I'm still levelling (which I won't be in a few days), is it really worth it to meld my Militia off-hand knowing there's an Artisan one later?

I try not to let it influence me too much because I have very eclectic tastes.
